I Am Undying

There are four table in between the eight of them. Dana was sitting beside only Rin and beside Rin was Sylvie and then a boy. In front of them have the same pattern as them. In front of Dana was a girl, then boy and so on.

"Rin, although we are your classmates. Do you know us?", the guy who clapped his hands treated Rin like a transfer student.

"Umm…", Rin scratched his head, he pointed his finger starting to the girl in front of Dana and said, "Andrea, the quiet and sweet girl in the class.", Andre who has a mature hairstyle smiled.

"Atta, the cool guy.", Atta, the blonde guy nodded in satisfaction.

"Mika, the shy pretty girl and the honor student of the class.", Mika turned her head away, seemingly surprised. She had no comeback to that but can only laughed awkwardly.

"Jun, the reliable class president.", Jun, who initiated this smiled.

"Christian, the athletic and popular guy.", Christian just scratched his head and smiled.

"Lastly, Sylvie, the cute and friendly girl.", Sylvie just stared at him and didn't react.

"Am I wrong?"

'No, you're just too frank that it made everyone embarrassed.', everyone thought, even those who are eavesdropping.

Dana, on the side, elbowed Rin but he still didn't know what he had done. He was pretty honest and for some, innocent.

Jun waved his hands, "No, actually you're spot on."

Everyone was silent and it was getting awkward. They were all smiling and was flattered with Rin's word but they don't know how to react to that kind of direct.

However, a savior comes in. The door opened and Teacher Hannah wrote something on the board. It was a textbook number pages for an assignment.

'Perfect!', Jun felt relief, "What? An assignment? Rin, want to join us to do that?", he pointed at the board.

"Sure, but where and when?", Rin nodded and opened his lunch. Everyone breathed a relief when the tense atmosphere disappeared and followed Rin, they opened their lunches and started to eat.

"We always hit the library aftershool when there's a homework after school", Jun followed too and opened his lunch.

"Okay.", Rin took a bite, he then looked at Dana who's the top student of the school, "Want to join?"

Dana nodded.

After that pairs started to have their own conversation. Andrea and Atta talked to Dana.

Jun, Mika, and Christian held their own conversation too. While Sylvie secretly tapped on Rin's side to get his attention.

"Hm?", Rin turned to her.

"Hey, I have a lot of questions but first of all…", Sylvie paused her whispering and glanced at Dana. Dana was still chatting with Andrea and Atta so Sylvie decided that she should continue, "How did you make Dana back to normal?"

"You don't know?", Sylvie got closer to Rin as she whisper, "Back then, Dana was cheerful and friendly not like when she's cold.", there's a tinge of sadness in Sylvie's eyes.

Rin continued to listen without interruption.

"Also, I was a friend of Dana. You could even say we're best of friends but she suddenly turned cold and distanced herself after the summer.", Sylvie didn't hold back and said everything low as possible, "She changed a lot but she became athletic and smarter when we met again."

Rin interrupted, "You know, whispering and all is more suspicious."

"Ah.", Sylvie caught a glimpse of Dana who was glancing at them, "Then let's just exchange contacts.", she said in her normal voice.

Rin nodded, "Okay"

They didn't do it in the dark but exchanged contacts openly.

"Ah, you're exchanging contacts. Me too!", Atta shouted and took everyone's attention.

"Why don't we all get Rin and Dana's numbers?", Jun said as he brought out his phone.

"Why not?"

"Sure", everyone agreed.

Dana went with the flow and also join the exchanges. After they all successfully got Rin and Dana's number, they ate and talked about some things and kept the conversation going. They, the normie group, are very good at communication. Thus, keeping the conversation well was easy for them. Well, except when there arestrange topics like personal things but they did their best to derail such topics into ssomething that everyone can relate to…

The bell rang and everyone was satisfied with their lunch with more ways than one.

After that, they continued their afternoon classes with the plan to do all the homework in the library after school.

Time passed and the eight all went to the library together. Rin and Dana fitted in like they were part of the group for a long time now.

But before they could enter the library, Sylvie suddenly shouted, "Ah! I completely forgot about that."

"Huh? About what?", Maki asked.

"Sorry but I don't have time to explain and I need to hurry now.", without waiting for anyone to say anything, she just ran across the hallway hurriedly.

'What was that all about?', Rin gazed across the hallway before entering the library with the others.

Unexpectedly, they chose a table and sat quietly while the others prepared the textbooks needed. They always do this after school so they already have some sort of procedures before starting.

They readied themselves by bringing out pencils, notebooks, and such, quietly. If someone did talk, it would be an indoor voice.

Before they start, Rin's phone vvibrated inside his bag. He was surprised, one person could only be the one that needed to text him to tell him something and he was right. When he looked at his phone, just from the notifications:
