I Am Undying

21 The Courage to Listen a Story

Elihim defended himself, wacing his hands in front, "Come on, come on, you won't touch a God.", his eyes narrowed, "Well, I mean, not that you can anyway."

Rin gave up, sighed and dropped the metal pipe. "I know that…", Rin said calmly, maitaining his eye contact to Elihim.

"Hmmm, good that you know. I thought you're not going to be able to control your emotions and stupidly attack a God.", Elijim couldn't contain something any longer but he had to wait, "So… How did it felt?"

Elihim asked a vague question but Rin know the answer already without asking any further, he looked at his hand that held the metal pipe and said, "I felt good, it is refreshing.", he gently smiled.

"Hahahah, great! Great! You are truly the only one that could follow me!", Elihim celebrated.

Rin tilted his head in confusion.

"You are perfect!", Elihim pointed at him, he was really overjoyed by this that he is staying out of his character.

Rin clicked his tongue and thought, 'Perfect? How? What is this man trying to say? Maybe he's mocking me. Yeah that must be it. Then again, it's not like I can do anything about it.'

"Oohhh, I'm in no way mocking you. No, no!", Elihim waved his fingers while his chin lifted, his voice lowered as he crouched and looked at Rin in the eyes, "Think about this… you can't die. Death is the main limiter of a human being. A man that can't die can longer be called a man but you… your immortality is absolute."

Rin remembered something like that as well, [Absolute]. His contract is said to be absolute and so it means his deathless body would be too.

"Wait, the best part is yet to come.", Elihim grew excitedly, "How do you think you defeated those men with your pitiable body, huh?", he pointed at the thugs that were lying unconscious.

Like a lightning flash into his mind, he just now realized it too. Even if they are already tired from beating him. How could he, the one that was being beaten, have more strength than them and actually beat them into their state?

"If you can't think of any reason then let me tell you. You're body had been sucked to the point that you no longer have energy to spare for your brain to work. That would mean death but remember that the contract is absolute! Which means it needs an alternative energy to use.", Elihim stood up, enjoying the pleasure of explaining, "But what other alternative energy is there? Well, other living things have energy but that is called eating. The other way is the natural energy!", Elihim spread his arms high.

"Natural energy?"

Elihim nodded.

"What's that?", Rin was intrigued. It is normal for humans to be curious of something like that.

"Hehehe, I can't tell you about that though.", Elihim stuck out his tongue.

"Wha-why!?", Rin was obviously wasn't satisfied by that answer.

"Haaah??! Why are you saying like I have a choice? It is very obvious from the start that you are behind these guys!", Rin flared up.

Elihim laughed, "Hahaha, well that's true and I can not deny that. Even if you were to say no, I will still find a way to make you a part of this Hidden World."

Rin frowned, "Why are you so eager for me to be a part of that world you are saying?", he was acting fussy about it but he actually don't care about the answer to his question for he had already made a choice to see this Hidden World. Fear is no longer a part of him as of the moment and he was still in heat after the victory of the early battle.

"I'll tell you if you agreed to enter the Hidden World! But I must warn you that it is very dangerous."

"Fine by me!", Rin agreed without hesitation until he remembered something. Before Elihim could speak up, he yelled, "Wait!"

Elihim frowned, "What? Are hesitating?"

"If I enter this Hidden World, can I still continue my current life?", Rin gulped because he suddenly remembered about his friend. He would not exchange his current life to the Hidden World. He just made his ambitions that he would surpass those who made fun of him and to finally have a place to be in school. That should be more fun than meeting mysteries in that Hidden World.

Elihim, on the other hand, was very glad, "That's all? I thought that you would turtle out. I can tell you that you will be conscious of the Hidden World and not like you will immerse yourself to it"

"What's wrong with turtles?"

"What?"

"I said that I'm in. I really want to know more about those natural energy!"

"Okay… then let me start with the history.", Elihim smirked.

Rin maintained his focus and he wanted to fully understand this.

"Ehem, basically, from the very start of the universe, natural energy is already there with it. From there, when unique humans started to be conscious of this natural energy, they studied it to make it their advantage against others. Some succeeded and became strong. With just time, they created a manual that even the untalented ones can absorb or even manipulate this natural energy. Then these manuals were improved and improved from master to direct disciples…. Why did I chose to start at the history?", Elihim seemed tired about it, "Kid, to much simpler terms this natural energy is like magic like those in fiction stories. Then those that are conscious of this 'magic' are what separates the people from the Hidden World and the mortals. We call them [Sportsman]."
