Chapter 18

Today, again, she blankly reminisced on the day Eirene left. She poured too much potion again. She has to make a love potion quickly so that she could finally finish everything on the list, which will be picked up soon.

Irene’s head urges her to move quickly and her hands work hard,  but the success rate of manufacturing was not as good as before. She was failing to make every time for various reasons, such as failing to mix the magic of the fairy, pouring out everything that was already made, or watering the bed with a magic potion without noticing it.

Because there was an active Eirene, everyday always seemed crazy and noisy, but now, she never seemed to progress because it was so quiet.

Eirene is a child who oversleeps everyday.

After waking up Irene by throwing her whole body at her, she will eat breakfast and will run all over the house and every corner of the yard.

It could be said that if she wears clothes that were just washed dried up, it would not last half a day, because she will surely come back with her dirty clothes and laugh so much. She wasn’t a child who usually heard those words telling her not to be dirty too much. Even though I didn’t have a heart to say no to Irene in the first place.

Still, when she said that she would make a bug family, and collect earthworms, caterpillars, and beanbags, she had to seriously reflect on what she had thought of Eirene.

“Ugh, I still get goosebumps just thinking about that day…”

Eirene, who smiles brightly, spreads her palms cutely, and the bug sits on top of them.

What would you feel, when you suddenly witnessed the creature crawling on the floor, and their backs were twitching to the point of being crooked.

I did not want to inject personal dislikes into the child, so I almost lost my soul by pretending not to be afraid. Even if it was a lie, where she had no choice but to be friendly to the insects as much as we lived with nature, I never wanted to see a family of insects like an animal family. Still, I like Eirene, what can I do? I have to be patient.

Like this, Eirene, who was with Irene, was kind, clever, lively, affectionate, and lovely. The number of compliments are endless, and whenever I brag to the villagers, the aunts greeted me with tired and soulless eyes.

All these memories came back to her.

“It really feels like yesterday.”

The men did not take any of Eirene’s belongings. Even when Irene was not in a hurry, she tried to give Eirene’s favorite doll or blanket, but the middle-age man politely refused.

Although Irene spoke in a roundabout way so as not to get hurt, the main point was that her original family could buy more new high-end products. Even if she didn’t say anything back, she wouldn’t have been hurt because she fully agreed to his opinion.

Thanks to that, the inside of the house was full of things that reminded me of Eirene.
