Army of True Salvation

Chapter 86:For All of Them

Sheloah came out of the hotel then she went straight to the garden for a night stroll. She saw her other classmates walking and having conversations with the others as well. She walked to where the water fountain was and looked and it as she sat on a bench.

She sighed when suddenly her phone buzzed, getting her attention. She fished her phone from her pocket to see who texted her at this time. She read the sender's name; it was from Isobel.

Isobel: [Hey babes! Good thing I called Shannara, right? I volunteered into being her roommate because I know that Veon's sleeping with you and your family. *wink*]

Sheloah laughed a little when she read Isobel's message.

'Crazy!'

"Hey, Sheloah."

Sheloah jolted in surprise and had almost made her phone fly when she suddenly heard Shannara calling out to her. She suddenly kept her phone, hoping Shannara hadn't seen the text message Isobel had sent her.

"Shannara," she greeted her and Shannara sat beside her. "What brings you here," she asked and Shannara pouted at her.

"I heard from Isobel a while ago that Veon's in your and your family's hotel room," she said and Sheloah was shocked to have heard this from Shannara. She didn't know what to tell her.

'That Isobel just wouldn't shut up sometimes! If she grabbed Shannara from the start, why spill the beans, huh!?'

Sheloah forced out a laugh, and showed an apologetic smile. "The reason why he's with us is because we need to look after him. He was in an accident so my family and I have been taking turns to take care of him," Sheloah honestly said and Shannara nodded her head, understanding the situation, but she still pouted.

"I see, but I'm quite jealous!" She rested her head on Sheloah's shoulder as she sighed in disappointment. "I wish I could be with Veon, too!"

"I-I see," Sheloah just said as the two girls looked at the stars in the night sky.

"And so what if you have a lucky charm? At least he gets to stay with me and my family for another night," she said and Shannara frowned.

"Now I don't have a rebut to that," she said and the both of them laughed.

They looked at the stars in the sky again as they went silent, admiring the view. The two shared mutual happiness knowing that even though they love the same person, their friendship still remained.

Sheloah smiled. "We love the same person," she said and Shannara looked at her. "I know you also want to protect Veon in any way you can, right," she asked and Shannara's eyes widened for a bit before she nodded.

"We have the same feelings toward Veon," Shannara said as she stood up. She then looked back at Sheloah to give her a challenging smile. "I know you won't give up on him, too," she said and her eyes met Sheloah's.

Sheloah smiled as she stood up to match Shannara's stance. "Yeah… and I know you won't give up on him, either," she said and Shannara nodded at her.

"I guess we're not only friends… but rivals."

Shannara held out her hand again. Sheloah held her hand and the two girls shook their hands, agreeing that they're friends who are also rivals in battling for Veon's heart.

"I won't lose to you even if you both know each other for a long time," Sheloah said and Shannara scoffed.

"I won't give up, too… knowing that you have more chances of interacting with each other," Shannara said and the two girls smiled at each other as they stopped shaking their hands, challenging each other.

'May the best girl win.'

The two girls went back inside and it dawned to them that tomorrow will be a new journey for all of them.
