A Twilight Promise

Fumi woke up in her room, looking around her room, there are various pictures sticked to the walls, including the one she took that time.

She stretched her body, yawned and thought. "I wonder what is Yuuki-chan is doing now?" She giggled and started her usual routine. Brushing her teeth, taking a shower, looking at clothes to wear, preparing her own breakfast, reading some romance novels and giggling at them...

She has afternoon class, thus she went to her campus and attended class. She went to the photography club and meets her fellow members of the club.

"Yo Fumi, you are late today!" Said a guy. "Oh Makoto, it's you." Fumi said. "Makoto's arrival is usually the best measurement to indicate lateness." Said another guy. "Shun! Just shut up!" Makoto exclaimed. The atmosphere lighted up with Fumi's appearance, apparently she can light up the atmosphere very easily. That is also why she is popular.

Fumi then took out her camera, the camera shows the picture of Ryujii and Yuuki looking at the twilight from the back. Their silhouettes with the purplish sky alongside the orange light, they made a huge contrast that caught both Makoto and Shun's attention.

"B-B-Bravo! Fumi! You can take photos like that huh? It's so amazing! We should put this on the exhibition next month!" Makoto exclaimed. "Makoto's right you know, this one is really a masterpiece, do you know the couple in this picture?" Shun said.

"I just befriended them before parting ways with them, this girl is called Yuuki, whereas this guy is called... Ryuka... Ryuki... Or Ryuko...? I forgot. Hehe..." Fumi replied, with a mischievous look on her face. "Fumi... You always forget guy names don't you? Did you know how we struggled when you kept calling us weird names until you got used to our names?" Makoto sighed.

"Anyways, we should at least get permission from them and think of a title for this picture." Shun said. "That's a great idea! I actually invited them to go to the same spot to take this photo again with you guys. We can ask them about it then." Fumi said with a bright smile. She is oddly enthusiastic with this. "Maybe she read a yuri manga recently?" Makoto whispered to Shun. "Whatever." Shun responded.

Evening, the three headed to the bridge, in hope of meeting Yuuki. They waited a while, but Yuuki didn't show up, but Ryujii did. He saw Fumi and gave a slight bow. Makoto and Shun walked towards him and showed him the picture.

"Are you the guy in this picture?" Makoto asked. Ryujii nodded, Makoto points to Yuuki in the picture, "Then how about this girl? Is she coming today?" Makoto asked again.

"She won't be coming today, so I'm here to ask Fumi a favour." Ryujii said. "What is it, Ryuko-kun?" Fumi asked with a confused look. "So... As you see... It's Ryujii, who is Ryuko by the way?!" Ryujii exclaimed.

Makoto patted Ryujii's shoulder. "Chill man, I understand how you feel, she's like that." Ryujii calmed down and told them about Yuuki's illness. To their surprise, she still have six months left. The atmosphere is heavy, the sunset dyed the sky orange, Ryujii thought of an idea.

Ryujii instructed them from the behind, much to their surprise as well, he is actually good in this. Minutes passed, it's finally the twilight they are waiting for. "It's now, take it!" Ryujii said. They took it. And thus the picture of the twilight is a masterpiece as well.

"Hey, we are sorry for not introducing ourselves just now, my name is Makoto, and this lame guy is called Shun. And you're right, the three of us are in the same club as in photography club!" Makoto said. "Name's Ryujii, second year from Hokutosei High School. Nice to meet you." Ryujii said.

Fumi suddenly became excited. "Hey, hey! Why not we give a name to this picture and give it to Yuuki-chan as a gift?" Fumi suggested. "Ryujii, is it okay if we do that?" Shun asked. "Of course, we just need a name, right?" Ryujii replied.

"So... We might have to point out the main purpose of this picture... A photo of a twilight..." Makoto said as he is deep in thought. "Aha! I know, since it captured the exact moment of the twilight, it's like a twilight that never fades away no matter how long it is, it is always the same!" Fumi suggested.

"Eternal Twilight is it?" Ryujii mumbled. "Exactly! Ryujii, you're a genius!" Fumi hopped with excitement. The four of them noticed the twilight has been faded as they were deep in thought.

"Do you mind visiting us at the hospital over there tomorrow? I bet Yuuki will be overjoyed." Ryujii invited them to visit Yuuki. "Sure, I can't wait to see how cute she is!" Makoto said. "You lolicon." Shun added. "Ah you!" Makoto exclaimed. The atmosphere was heavy, lifted away by their laughter. Ryujii sighed, and smiled with satisfaction.

"Can't wait to show her right?" Fumi bumped to Ryujii. "Here, you can take this." Fumi said to Ryujii. Ryujii accepted the photo, it was the one with both of them looking at the twilight on the bridge.

"I guess this one should be called Eternal Twilight instead of this one." Shun said. Ryujii nodded and agreed to their ideas. They parted ways, Ryujii back to the hospital, while the three of them returned to their homes.

"Eternal Twilight...? That was a masterpiece which Fumi took for us. Without that, you wouldn't think of the drama club, right?"
