You're My Only Star

Song Xing Xing and Liu Yu Sheng went back to their room to take a short break and a quick shower before they showed up at the restaurant.

Most of the production staff had already gathered when they arrived. They had just finished shooting the whole day and everyone could see that they were tired. However, it was a rare occasion that everyone who was involved in this variety show to get together. Everyone showed up at the restaurant with full enthusiasm.

Song Xing Xing looked around and was a little disappointed when she could not see Lu Xun around. However, that feeling quickly disappeared the moment she saw the garlic butter prawn on the table.

She picked a seat closer to the food and ate with Liu Yu Sheng without looking at her left and right.

As she was about to take another piece of prawn, Song Xing Xing noticed that her phone was ringing at the side. After wiping her hands with the wet towel, Song Xing Xing picked up her phone and went outside.

She looked at the screen and saw that it was her mother. She swiped her finger on the screen and pressed the phone to her ear. "Hello, mom?"

"Xing Xing? What are you doing? Are you busy now?" Ye Ling Feng spoke as she heard her daughter's voice.

"Mom? What's the matter?"

Ye Ling Feng clicked her tongue. "What's wrong? I can't call my daughter if there's nothing wrong?"

Song Xing Xing heaved a sigh. "Mom, you know that is not what I meant."

"Alright. Alright. I'll stop playing with you." Ye Ling Feng laughed. "Xing Xing, are you coming back next month?"

Song Xing Xing thought about what will happen next month and recalled that it would be her paternal grandfather's birthday. Her grandfather was someone influential in the country. Naturally, his birthday would be attended by a lot of famous people.

As the granddaughter, of course, she will have to attend this birthday celebration no matter what happened.

She was not looking forward to meeting the people who came to try and build a connection with the Song family. However, Song Xing Xing always loved gathering with her family members.

"Mom. It's my grandfather's birthday. Of course, I will have to come back."

Ye Ling Feng heaved with relief when she heard her daughter's answer. "That's good. Then, I will tell your cousin, Song Yi to bring you along with them."

"Mom, you don't have to ask my cousin. I can buy my own ticket and took a flight."

"Nonsense. Isn't it safer to have your cousin around? With one look at him, no one would try to mess up with you," Ye Ling Feng spoke. "Only then will I be assured."

After walking around while listening to her mother's speech, her mother's voice in the other line began to crack. "Mom? What are you saying? I cannot hear you." She pulled her phone away and saw that the reception was not good. Just like that, the phone call was cut off.

At the thought that her mother was going to think that she was avoiding her speech, Song Xing Xing began to walk around to find a location with good reception. However, after walking around for a while, the reception was still bad and she could not make a phone call.

Song Xing Xing raised her hand high with the phone in her hand as she tried to look for the reception.

Because she was not looking at where she was walking, Song Xing Xing bumped into a person. The collision made her stagger backward. Song Xing Xing closed her eyes and held her phone tightly, thinking that she might fell on her butt.

However, someone had stopped her before she could fall.

An arm circled her waist and she was pulled forward. Her forehead bumped on the hard chest. Song Xing Xing took a deep breath once she had steadied herself. Her nose caught the smell of the familiar cologne and suddenly, she stood at her position and unable to move.

"Are you alright?"

Hearing the voice, Song Xing Xing instantly looked up. Her eyes widened as she met Lu Xun's worried gaze and her heart started to beat faster.

She struggled to escape from the person, however, the arms around her waist tightened and she was unable to move away. "I'm fine."

Song Xing Xing lowered her head with her reddened face. They were too close to each other and she thought that his gaze was too piercing that her legs turned to jelly.

Why does it feel like every time she met with this person, she would always run into his arms?

The first time, it was at the studio. Then, it was at the mall. And now, she had run into his hard chest again.

Wouldn't this man start to think that she was a little retard?

Lu Xun loosened his arms around her waist and helped her until she was able to steady herself.

As she took a few steps back, Song Xing Xing noticed that there were a few people around them for the first time.

On Lu Xun's right was the actress, Mu Xiao Xiao and on his left was Huo Yun Chen. Assistant Bei Yuan was walking right behind his boss.

"Miss, are you alright?" Huo Yun Chen asked.

Seeing the teasing smile on Huo Yun Chen's face, Song Xing Xing was a little embarrassed. She could only hope that the others did not think that she deliberately wanted to get close to her boss by pulling some tricks.

"Sorry. I was looking for better reception and was not looking," she said.

"Next time, look at where you are going," Lu Xun said. He gave a quiet inspection at the girl and was relieved to see that she was unharmed. "Come on, let's head over to the restaurant together."

Song Xing Xing stared at the man in a daze. Seeing the way he was looking at her, she could only follow the group obediently. Suddenly, she was walking back to the restaurant between Lu Xun and Actress Mu Xiao Xiao.
