You're My Only Star

Chapter 434 - Mr. Fluffball's Dream

Now that the couple was expecting, Lu Xun began to purchase a few books to read. But the more he read, the more anxious he gets.

It was not easy for a woman to give birth and Lu Xun was worried about too many complications that might happen.

In just a few weeks, there seemed to be a lot of changes around the house. By the time they reached the end of the first trimester but the house was already baby-proofed.

Song Xing Xing looked at everything around her speechlessly. Although she wanted to say something about it, a certain someone did not want to listen and continued to worry. In the end, she could only let him do as he wishes to give him peace of mind.

Mr. Fluffball looked at the new furniture around him and became interested. He pawed everything around them and wondered what was going on.

His head turned to look at his papa who was busy moving around the house. After contemplating for a while, Mr. Fluffball jumped on the sofa and stayed beside his master.

These days, his papa was too busy to play with him. Mr. Fluffball could only look for his master and acted coquettishly. "Meow."

Song Xing Xing was watching a new drama that she had worked on almost a year ago when the cat appeared by her side. Seeing that Mr. Fluffball was lying lazily beside her, Song Xing Xing stretched her hand and patted the cat on his head.

The cat narrowed his eyes in content and purred.

It was then that Song Xing Xing realized her cat's strange behavior. It seemed that Mr. Fluffball has been quite attached to her a little bit?

Song Xing Xing was aware that after she moved in with Lu Xun, Mr. Fluffball would prefer to get close to Lu Xun rather than play with her. Now that the cat had voluntarily gotten close to her, of course, Song Xing Xing would find it strange.

She stared at the cat for a few seconds longer. Then, she turned to look at Lu Xun who was busy planning a baby's room upstairs.

When she finally understood what was going on, Song Xing Xing could not help but laugh about it.

She carried the cat and looked into his eyes. Her lips were full of smiles. "Mr. Fluffball."

"Meow!" The cat had almost fallen asleep but this human was disturbing him. Mr. Fluffball looked at his master, feeling annoyed. But once he recalled that this was the person who would spoil him after his papa was too busy with god knows what, Mr. Fluffball decided not to complain.

Song Xing Xing moved the cat's body from left to right. "Are you upset that your papa is no longer playing with you?"

The cat blinked. He was acting as if he could not understand what did his master talked about. Even if he was unhappy about this, he could not possibly let them know about it.

"You're about to become a big brother. Are you happy?" Song Xing Xing smiled brightly at him.

"Meow?" Mr. Fluffball found out that he really could not understand what was his human talking about. What big brother? Why would he be happy?

"Later, you have to look after your little brother or sister, you know?" Song Xing Xing looked at the cat's annoyed expression and laughed again. After playing with the cat for a while, Song Xing Xing placed him back on her lap and help him to scratch his body.

Mr. Fluffball was still trying to process this whole new information but his master's caress was too good and later, he fell asleep thinking about it.

He even had a dream that his papa brought home a few kittens and let him look after them. Those kittens were adorable but they were too naughty and wanted to play with his tails all the time.

Those kittens were the ones who pushed the vase from the table but later, they stared at him with a pair of innocent eyes. He had to take the blame and those kittens get away easily.

Mr. Fluffball wanted to scold them but his papa had reminded him they are his siblings. In the end, Mr. Fluffball could only swallow his grievance and look after the few kittens.

Seeing that her cat had fallen asleep, Song Xing Xing stood up, wanting to check at what was her husband up to.

Just as she was about to stand up, her phone rang. A light flashed in her eyes upon seeing that it was the lawyer who she had hired to look into Xia Yu's case.

She accepted the phone call and talked to the lawyer for a few minutes before they finally hung up.

Her brow furrowed as she thought about her conversation with the lawyer.

After pondering about it for a while, Song Xing Xing decided to give Xia Yu a call.

"Little Star?" Xia Yu spoke as the phone call was connected.

"Un. Xia Yu, how are you feeling these days? Better?"

"I'm fine," Xia Yu said. The two of them exchanged brief pleasantries. "My legs should recover after a month. These days, I can only move around with a crutch."

"It's good that you are recovering well." Song Xing Xing pursed her lips briefly, wondering how she should bring up this matter. "Xia Yu, the lawyer who was looking after your case contacted me a while ago."

Xia Yu's grip on her phone tightened. Thinking about her mother and little brother made her a little unhappy.

After she left A City, her mother has been trying to reach for her every day. Initially, Xia Yu would still pick up the phone and listened to what her mother wanted to say. But after a while, she got tired of it.

Her mother would only mention her brother and money. The things that she spoke repeated over and over again. In the end, she no longer picked up her mother's call.

But that did not stop her from sending her unending messages.

Xia Yu did not have the heart to block her mother's number. After everything, she was still her mother, right?

"Mhm... I know." Xia Yu lowered her gaze and tugged at the hem of her shirt. "The lawyer called me earlier to inform a few things."

"Your brother's trial would begin next week," Song Xing Xing said. "Are you prepared for it?"

"I'll be fine. I am only required to go to court and give my statement. There's not a lot of things to be prepared of."

"Xia Yu, I will let someone come with you. Your legs are still inconvenient. You should have someone to look after you."

Xia Yu bit her lips. "Little Star, thank you. I really didn't know how should I repay your kindness."

"Don't be like this. After all, we are considered as comrades who had fought countless battles together." Song Xing Xing smiled. "Xia Yu, I considered you my friend. You don't have to thank me."

Her eyes felt a little moist upon hearing her words.
