You're My Only Star

Xia Yu opened her mouth and closed it again.

She wanted to come out with a lie but it was too obvious if she did just that. The man had already heard the music and he had seen her screen.

After a brief hesitation, she then nodded. "I did." She lifted her head to look at him and wondered just how much he had seen earlier.

The thought that the man had seen her ID name made her feel anxious. Her breathing became erratic and her palms were sweating. Xia Yu did not know what she should do.

Should she be asking him about this matter?

Meanwhile, Huo Yun Chen continued to observe her every move and expression. He wanted to see how Xia Yu was going to react now that he had found out the truth. He wanted to see if she was going to keep pretending in front of him.

Huo Yun Chen recalled the day they met in the hospital.

Xia Yu was shocked the moment she had seen him in the wardroom. The look on her face was as if she had seen a ghost.

But he had never thought too much of it.

Later, each time that she came into his room to check on him, he had noticed the strange way she has been looking at him.

He could sense that this nurse has been trying to avoid him and thought that it was because she did not like him. He had even thought that she was an anti-fan.

But in actuality, the two of them had known each other for a few years in 'Legend of the Sky'.

Huo Yun Chen did not expect that there would be a reason for it. She was always awkward in front of him was because she knew him. She knew from the very beginning that the two were related somehow.

Any players of 'Legends of the Sky' would know who he was. He had revealed his ID name during the first time he was announced as the spokesperson.

His lips moved to ask her about her ID name but when he saw how anxious she was at this time, Huo Yun Chen began to hesitate.

"What are you doing here?" Xia Yu asked to change the subject. "I thought you have left."

Huo Yun Chen snapped out of his thought. A light flickered in his eyes as he thought of what this girl was trying to do. He raised the small bag in his hand and spoke, "You left this in my car."

"I forgot." Xia Yu quickly snatched the bag from him. "Thank you."

"What are you doing down here? Shouldn't you be resting at home?"

"I was taking a walk for some fresh air," Xia Yu said. She awkwardly lifted the medicine bag and spoke, "You already delivered my medicine. I should go upstairs now."

Without waiting for him to say a word, Xia Yu turned around and headed to the stairs again. She did not dare to look back at him and peek whether he would stay to watch her.

At this time, Xia Yu was just worried that Huo Yun Chen was going to say something that would make her panic.

However, Xia Yu's prayer was left unanswered.

Before she could reach the staircase, Huo Yun Chen had spoken the word that she has been dreading to hear.

"Shadow. You're Shadow, aren't you?"

Her steps halted and her breathing became laborious.

Xia Yu wondered if she had heard him call him by her game ID or was everything just her imagination.

"I saw it just now," Huo Yun Chen continued. "Your game ID. Are you going to continue and hide from me? Nurse Xia Yu?"

Her blood rushed up to her head quickly, making her feel a little dizzy. Xia Yu was beginning to wonder if this was the effect of Huo Yun Chen's question or whether it was because she had lost some blood due to her head injury.

The man's footsteps could be heard, approaching him. In a few seconds, Huo Yun Chen was standing right in front of him.

He was tall and blocking the light in front of her. Xia Yu looked at his inquiring gaze and did not know how to explain this matter to him. She certainly was not ready for him to find out this secret.

Huo Yun Chen was supposed to be the man that she could only adore from afar. Somehow, her life was entangled with him and she did not know how to react.

"Are you not going to answer me?" Huo Yun Chen asked. "You know from the very beginning that we are somehow had this connection. You know that I am General Huo. Why don't you tell me that you are Shadow?"

"I don't see a reason to let you know about it," Xia Yu said. "Whether you know that I am Shadow or not is not an important matter."

His eyes narrowed. Huo Yun Chen could not help but feel a little hurt that she would think of it as not an important matter.

"I thought that Shadow is a man."

"I like using mage and the male's outfit was not as flashy as the female." Xia Yu lowered her head, not daring to meet his penetrating gaze.

"Little Star knew about this, didn't she? She already knew that you are Shadow and that was how the two of you had become closer." Huo Yun Chen said. "And I was wondering just how did the two of you suddenly got closer. The two of you did not seem familiar with each other when you met her in the hospital."

Xia Yu knew that she could no longer continue to pretend and lie to him. "Don't blame her. I asked her to keep this matter a secret. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable."

"You mean to say that you did not want to feel uncomfortable?"

Xia Yu looked at him in surprise but then lowered her head again.

Looking at her expression made him feel that he had guessed the right thing. However, Huo Yun Chen could not figure out why she would be uncomfortable.

"You would always act suspiciously and tried hard to avoid me. Nurse Xia, are you... my anti-fan?"

"No!" Xia Yu spoke quickly. Her eyes widened as she could not believe what he had said to her. "I'm not your anti-fan."

Huo Yun Chen continued to look at her suspiciously. 

Seeing the way he looked at her made her panic and Xia Yu blurted out without thinking.. "I like you."
