You're My Only Star

"How long will you be staying this time?" Ye Ling Feng asked. She looked at her daughter and recalled something important. "Don't you have to work tomorrow?"

Song Xing Xing did not answer but instead turned to her boyfriend and passed the question for him to answer.

"We'll head back to Capital City early tomorrow morning," Lu Xun answered.

Song Xing Xing nodded and glanced at her boyfriend. "My big boss had already approved me to have a day off tomorrow."

Ye Ling Feng looked at her daughter helplessly. "Why do you sound so smug? Is it that great to date your big boss?"

Song Xing Xing laughed sheepishly at her mother's words.

Ye Ling Feng turned to Lu Xun again and spoke. "Since that's the case, why don't you just stay here for the night? This way, we can let someone send you to the airport early morning."

"Thank you, Auntie, but I really shouldn't trouble you. I can stay at the hotel."

"Don't be so polite. Just stay for a night. There are only me and Xing Xing's father in this house. We still have a lot of guest rooms."

"Then, sorry for the trouble." Lu Xun flashed a smile. His tensed body gradually relaxed.

"There's no trouble at all." Ye Ling Feng turned to the auntie beside her and asked her to help the two to bring in their luggage. "Xing Xing, go ahead and take Lu Xun to the guest room."

"Oh." She nodded. Just as she was heading towards the door, Song Xing Xing realized that someone else was not around. "Mom, where is dad?"

Ye Ling Feng heaved a long sigh. "Where else do you think he would on Sunday? He went out early this morning to find his friends and play golf. He should return soon."

Song Xing Xing watched as her mother turned to the kitchen before she held Lu Xun's hand and led him upstairs to the guest room. She showed him around the place until the auntie entered the room to send in his luggage.

The auntie left and closed the door behind her. It was then that Song Xing Xing turned to her boyfriend with her arms crossed over her chest. "Lu Xun, what are you planning to do?"

Lu Xun chuckled upon hearing her question. "What do you mean?"

Song Xing Xing narrowed her eyes. "Why do I feel as if you had some hidden intention when you bring me over here?" She raised her paw and poked at his chest. "Tell me what it is. When did you get so close to my mother?"

Lu Xun laughed. He scratched the tip of her nose and smiled. "Didn't I tell you earlier? I'm trying to win your parents' heart." He held her closer to him until their foreheads were touching. "Then, they would trust me with their daughter. Other than that, I don't have any other intention."

Her heartbeat accelerated.

Previously, when Lu Xun had said the same words, Song Xing Xing had not noticed anything. Now that she heard the words again, she suddenly thought that his words sounded as if he was coming over to ask her parents' blessings for them to marry her.

Song Xing Xing shook her head and reminded herself not to think too much.

But when she recalled how they would often run into something marriage-related when they went out for a date, Song Xing Xing began to wonder if that was the truth.

What if she had guessed it right?

At this time, their body was very close to each other. Their noses were touching and their lips were a few inches apart.

She wanted to look away but his eyes were too mesmerizing and she was having a hard time not getting drawn into them.

His eyes darkened with desire.

She could feel how her breathing turned heavier the longer she looked at him.

After a while, she lowered her gaze and hesitated. "Lu Xun." Her voice was a whisper.

"En?"

"Recently, I have been thinking about it."

"What did you think about it?"

"The future. Last time, you have asked me this question but I still haven't given you the answer."

His eyes flickered upon hearing her words.

Song Xing Xing tightened her hands against the hem of her blouse. There was something that she wanted him to know but to speak what she had in her mind was making her grow anxious. She could not help but wonder how will Lu Xun react after this.

The pause between them was making him uncomfortable. He wanted to urge her to say what was in her mind quickly. However, he knew that the girl was still composing the words she wanted to say in her mind. He could only wait and give her space.

"In the future... I still wanted us to be together."

Lu Xun swallowed. Her voice was a whisper but in the quiet room, he could hear her every word loud and clear.

His heart tightened with excitement. He wanted her to look at him in the eyes as she said those words but his Xing Xing continued to lower her gaze.

Song Xing Xing finally raised her eyes and her heart trembled as she looked at the man. His gaze was too intense. It made her want to look away but she forced herself not to avoid his gaze.

It was not easy for her to find the chance to speak to him about this matter. Since she had gathered her courage and brought up this matter, Song Xing Xing could only march forward.

He is the first person that she had fallen for and as they get along, Song Xing Xing wanted to believe that this person is the one that she wanted to spend her life together with.

"In the future, I do want to get married. Having kids and growing old with the person I am married to." Song Xing Xing took a deep shaky breath to calm down. Or else, her heart might burst.

His heart was surging with different kinds of emotions.

Lu Xun continued to stare at the girl in front of him, wondering if everything he heard was real or just a fantasy.

His hand moved towards his thigh and he secretly gave himself a hard pinch.

It was painful.

This... shouldn't be a dream, right?

Lu Xun heaved a long breath. "Song Xing Xing, you're not playing fair." He tugged at her hand and wrapped his arms around her body, giving her a tight hug. "This kind of thing is what I am supposed to say to you."

A faint smile appeared on his face and his face was slightly reddened. 

A while ago, Lu Xun has been giving her hints on marriage. However, the girl had not given him any response.

He was planning to talk to her about his thoughts on getting married. He had made his plan to propose. Lu Xun was not expecting that she would tell him something like this. 

Just now he was too excited and had almost say something that would ruin his plan.
