You're My Only Star

Lu Xun returned to his car in fifteen minutes.

As he slid into the driver's seat, Lu An Ran turned to look at her brother and noticed the smudged at the corner of his lips. The color was the same as Song Xing Xing's lipstick earlier.

It was not hard to figure out why it took her brother a while to return after he had sent his girlfriend to the door.

Lu An Ran chuckled before she pretended that she had not seen anything.

Once the vehicle soon entered the main road, Lu An Ran turned to her brother again.. She raised the bracelet around her hand that Song Xing Xing had given her earlier and spoke, "Brother, is it alright f me to accept this bracelet? This brand isn't that cheap."

Lu Xun glanced at the bracelet before he continued to focus on his driving. "It's fine. Xing Xing isn't short of money."

Her brow shot up and Lu An Ran looked at her brother inquiringly. After meeting and interacting with her brother's girlfriend, Lu An Ran curiosity on Song Xing Xing heightened. However, there are a few matters that she could not ask directly to the girl.

"Now that you have met Xing Xing, what do you think about her?" Lu Xun asked.

"She's a nice girl. Definitely not someone I imagine you would date."

Lu Xun chuckled. "What type of girl did you imagine I would date?"

"Definitely not a cheery girl like Xing Xing."

The corner of his lips turned up. He too had never thought that he would date someone cheerful like Song Xing Xing. But now that he is dating her, Lu Xun thought that he really liked this part of Song Xing Xing.

Lu Xun glanced at the bracelet on her sister's wrist again and spoke, "You don't have to worry too much. Song Xing Xing is not dating me for money or fame."

Lu An Ran looked at her brother in surprise. She had thought that her brother would not notice what she was worried about.

"She's actually from a prestigious family in Y City with an old history. Her family members are mostly involved in politics." Lu Xun smiled. "Her family have more money than I have."

Her eyes widened as she heard this information. Lu An Ran had never thought that her brother's girlfriend would be someone from a good family.

A thought came to her mind. "Wait. Isn't she working as a video editor at your studio?"

"Mhm..." Lu Xun nodded. "She liked the job and has been hiding her identity from the others. It's fine that you know about this but you definitely could not tell the others. Xing Xing, she does not like too much attention on herself."

"Then, why is she dating you?"

Lu Xun clicked his tongue in displease upon hearing his sister's words. "What do you mean? Why can't she date me?"

"That's not what I meant," Lu An Ran spoke quickly. "Just that... for someone from a family such as hers, I thought that her family would choose her marriage partner."

A faint smile curled on his lips.

Although the Song family would no longer interfere with the younger generation's marriage, it does not mean that her parents liked him that much.

Through his brief meeting with her family, Lu Xun could sense that Song Xing Xing's father did not like him that much. Because of their age gap, Song Chen worried that they might not be compatible.

Lu Xun had to work hard to prove that Song Chen was wrong. Even with their age gap and difference in personality, Lu Xun thought that he is very compatible with Song Xing Xing.

Fortunately, Song Chen was not going to stop them from dating.

Lu An Ran narrowed her eyes at her brother. "Just how far has your relationship with Xing Xing progressed?" She still remembered that her brother had said that Song Xing Xing had spent a night at his place previously.

"I've met her parents."

Her mouth gaped at his answer.

Song Xing Xing had already introduced Lu Xun to her parents? Then... she should be serious about her brother as well.

Lu Xun told his sister about her parents' reaction when Song Xing Xing had introduced him as her boyfriend and Lu An Ran was not surprised that Song Xing Xing's father would react that way.

That was the cabbage that he had raised and protected. But some wild pig is eyeing this cabbage. Why would her father be happy? Of course, he has to make it difficult for her brother.

Lu An Ran shook her head as she tried to get rid of those thoughts from her head. If her brother knew that she had called him a wild pig in her mind, he would be furious.

"Brother, are you planning to settle down and get married to her?"

Lu Xun glanced at his sister. "Of course. I'm not that young anymore. It's not easy for me to meet someone like Xing Xing. I love her. I think, if it is with Xing Xing, then I am willing to spend the rest of my life with her."

However, the two of them had never talked about marriage. Lu Xun did not know what was in his girlfriend's mind regarding this matter. He wanted to bring up the subject but did not know how he should speak about it. 

They haven't date for too long. Would he scare her if he asked?

Meanwhile, Lu An Ran was a little surprised at her brother's confession.

It was not a secret that her brother had once said that he no longer wanted to think about marriage and such after he had broken up with Shi An Na.

Years ago, Lu Xun had thought that he would be marrying Shi An Na. However, that person ended up breaking his heart and marrying someone else.

It was not strange if he wanted to give up on finding love again.

However, after being alone for years, he had found Song Xing Xing. He loved her enough that he was willing to change his mind again.

Lu An Ran thought that this is a good thing.

"Have you talked to our parents about her?" Lu An Ran asked.

"No. The last time I talked to mom, she said that they will be going to a place with no internet connection. She said that once they come out, they will let us know."

Their father is traveling around with his team to do some research. Most of the time, they would go to a secluded place and it would be hard for the siblings to contact them. It was their mother who would often send a short message to let the siblings know that they are alright and alive.

"I am planning to let them know about Xing Xing once they return to C Country."
