You're My Only Star

As the New Year festivity approached, Song Xing Xing hitched a ride from her cousin to Y City. Because they have to carry a lot of gifts and baby stuff, the couple chose to drive instead.

Song Xing Xing sat at the back and played around with Xiao Jun on the trip. After driving for a few hours, Song Xing Xing began to understand that there was another reason why the couple chose to drive instead of taking a flight.

Song Yi was a scary person, but whenever he was his wife, the look on his face would turn gentler. There was a time that Song Xing Xing wondered if the person in front of her was still the cousin she knew.

Because of the frequent stops, the trip that would take them four hours to arrive in Y City turned almost eight hours.

The moment they arrived at the main house, Song Xing Xing ran off to her mother who was waiting for them outside to complain about her cousin. However, instead of pulling her into a hug, her mother ran over to hug Xiao Jun.

Song Xing Xing stood at the side and pouted as she looked at the baby.

In the past, her mother, Ye Ling Feng would pamper her the most. But everything changed when there was a baby in front of her. It seemed as if the daughter in front of her does not exist!

"Mom, you don't love me as much anymore!" Song Xing Xing complained.

Ye Ling Feng played with the baby in her arms and glanced at her daughter. "Get married and let me hug my grandchild. Then, I will love you again."

Song Xing Xing turned around to find her father.

"Don't listen to your mother," Song Chen patted at his daughter's head. "You're still a child. How can you get married so early?"

Hearing her father's words, Song Xing Xing did not know if she should be comforted. To her father, Song Xing Xing will always be a child. This was one of the reasons why she decided to move to Capital City and live independently. She wanted her father to know that she was no longer a child.

Song Xing Xing grabbed her bag and headed straight to her room. After taking a quick shower and changed her clothes, she headed downstairs to find her family again.

When she arrived at the living room, Song Xing Xing was surprised to find her younger brother, Song Wei playing with baby Xiao Jun.

She gave her brother a look over and noticed that he had grown a little taller again. His usual short hair grew long past his shoulder.

"Sister." Song Wei turned around and stood silently as he observed his sister. Then, he walked closer to her and stared at the top of her head. "You stop growing taller already?"

Song Wei touched his long hair and raised a brow. "Mmm... I know grandpa had nagged me about this just now. These days, I was too busy with my assignment that I did not have time to visit a hair salon. Don't worry. I'll go and get a haircut tomorrow."

The two siblings chatted for a while to catch up before her mother called everyone to join the dinner.

At this time, there was only her family and Song Yi's family at the main house. It was expected that her aunties, uncles, and cousins would return in a few days.

Just imagining that the house will be filled with too many people made Song Xing Xing had a headache. Her father had four siblings. Three boys and one girl. Song Yi's father is the eldest son, while her father, Song Chen was the youngest son. Most of her cousins were married with children. Those kids are too young and too hyperactive.

Song Xing Xing had always look after her cousin's child and accompanied them to play whenever they met. Those kids listened to her words well. Because of this, she can be considered the kids' leader.

After dinner, the elders returned to their room to rest and the younger generation hung around in the TV room. At this time, there was an action movie playing on the screen.

Her sister-in-law, Han Yue Xiu wanted to watch a horror movie but finally gave up when Song Yi convinced her that their son would have a nightmare.

After watching the action movie for a while, Han Yue Xiu was starting to get bored and poked at Song Xing Xing's arms.

"Sister-in-law, what's the matter?"

Han Yue Xiu leaned closer to Song Xing Xing and whispered, "I'm going out with my friend to shop around tomorrow. Do you want to come with us?"

Song Xing Xing wanted to reject the invitation but stopped herself when Han Yue Xiu spoke again.

"It will be my treat," Han Yue Xiu said. "Let's buy you a few nice dresses."

Song Xing Xing stared at Han Yue Xiu with her bright eyes and quickly agreed. These days, she had to watch over her budget and could not spend her money recklessly. Since someone had offered to buy her a few clothes, of course, she had to agree!

As the movie finally ended, Song Yi carried his son in his arms and dragged his wife back into the room to sleep.

Song Xing Xing stayed in the TV room alone as her brother had long left the room to answer a phone call. At this time, the show had switched to entertainment news. On the screen, was the news of singer Huo Yun Chen's come back. Song Xing Xing stayed to watch the news and wondered how it will be to work with the popular singer in that variety show.
