You're My Only Star

When Lu Xun arrived at the restaurant with his assistant, he was surprised to see that his girlfriend was not around to wait for him like she had said she would. He took out his phone and dialed her number. 

The phone was connected but the person did not pick up his call.

After a few minutes, Lu Xun started to worry that something had happened to his girlfriend.

He knew that Song Xing Xing was not the kind of person who would leave without saying anything. Since she had said that she was going to wait for him, she would wait for him. Even if she had to leave, she would tell him, right?

Lu Xun saw the waiter at the door and decided to ask. However, the waiter did not know which person he was looking for as there were a few people who had waited at the door previously.

"President Lu, perhaps something happened and Miss Song had returned to the dining hall," Assistant Bei Yuan spoke. 

Lu Xun frowned. "Let's go and check first." His heart was pounding loudly as he was worrying that his girlfriend might have disappeared. Wild thoughts filled his mind and he was worrying that someone had kidnapped the girl.

Although Song Xing Xing had kept a low profile, she is after all a member of Song's family. A few of their family members were in politics. If someone found out that Song Xing Xing was related to the family from Y City, they would not hesitate to harm her.

Lu Xun started to wonder whether he should contact Song Yi.

The two of them arrived at the dining hall. Assistant Bei Yuan pushed the door open and the lively chattering from the room immediately died down. Bei Yuan looked inside the room and heaved in relief when he saw the person they were looking for. Turning around, he then whispered, "President Lu, Miss Song is in the dining hall."

Lu Xun peeked into the room and saw that Song Xing Xing was seating at the table with her colleagues. When he appeared at the door, everyone turned their head to look at him. However, Song Xing Xing continued to lower her head and not looking at him.

A bad feeling rose in his heart.

"Bei Yuan, go and investigate what happened in the lobby before we arrive. Something might happen to her."

Assistant Bei Yuan nodded and quickly turned around to investigate.

At this time, a few producers walked over to greet their big boss. Lu Xun entered the room and joined the others at the VVIP table. Huo Yun Chen sat at one side and the main actress, Qiao An sat at another.

The waiters walked in to serve the food and they began to eat while discussing the drama they have been working on for the past few months. As the others were talking, Lu Xun found that he was not able to concentrate on their conversation. His eyes were looking at his girlfriend but the girl had refused to look at him.

Lu Xun had a feeling as if he had done something wrong.

Even though he wanted to go over and ask why she was upset, Lu Xun knew was unable to act under the others' gaze. If he went over, perhaps the girl would only get angrier.

"President Lu, is everything alright?" Director An who was sharing the same table asked. "You did not touch your food."

Lu Xun snapped out of his thoughts and flashed everyone an apologetic look. "Sorry. I have something in my mind. You guys continue to eat first." He shot another glance at his girlfriend before he went out to look for Bei Yuan.

Director An saw the way President Lu was looking in a certain direction and rubbed his chin. Previously, President Lu had introduced Song Xing Xing as his girlfriend. Knowing their relationship, Director An guessed at what was going on.

Meanwhile, Lu Xun ran into Bei Yuan the moment he stepped out of the dining hall.

"President Lu, I went to the security office and find out what happened." Bei Yuan's tone sounded anxious. He inched forward and whispered his report.

His eyes narrowed dangerously the moment Lu Xun heard what was going on. He had never thought that Shi An Na would come to harass his girlfriend. 

Who gave her the courage?

Although they did not know what Shi An Na had spoken to his girlfriend, Lu Xun could still guess that it was not something pleasant.

No wonder his girlfriend was upset.

His annoyance towards Shi An Na increased to another level.

Lu Xun pondered about what he was going to do. After speaking a few words to Bei Yuan, he then re-entered the dining hall.

"President Lu, over here."

Hearing his name, Lu Xun followed the voice and found that Director An and a few producers were seated with the post-production crew. A light flashed in his eyes upon seeing that Director An had left a spot for him beside Song Xing Xing. 

At this time, Lu Xun was glad that he had introduced Song Xing Xing as his girlfriend to Director An.

Lu Xun ignored the warning gaze that his girlfriend had shot at him and walked over to the table. Once he was seated beside his girlfriend, Lu Xun flashed a grateful at Director An. He made a mental note to invest in Director An's next project.

Song Xing Xing pouted when Lu Xun sat beside her. Although she wanted to leave, she did not want her friends to worry. In the end, she could only sit down and sulk in silence.

Her movement halted the moment she felt his warm hand holding her under the table. No matter how she had wanted to pull her hand away from his, the man continued to hold her hand tightly.

Their gaze met up briefly before Song Xing Xing looked away.

Lu Xun let out a sigh. He wanted to coax his girlfriend but the only thing he could do at this time was to hold her hand. He could only wait until the meal was over before he could speak to his girlfriend. 

At this time, the waiter walked in with a few more dishes. Assistant Bei Yuan pointed them in a direction and let them serve the food at the post-production table.

The moment Song Xing Xing saw the plates of seafood in front of her, she immediately knew that someone had ordered extra food for her.

However, when she thought of her conversation with Lu Xun's ex-girlfriend, her heart was still unhappy. Song Xing Xing beckoned the waiter to come closer and whispered a few words.

A few minutes later, the waiter returned with a tray of condiment bottles.

The strong smell of something sour entered his nose. A thought came to his mind and Lu Xun turned to his girlfriend. 

Someone was eating vinegar.
