You're My Only Star

As the door closed, her shoulder dropped and Song Xing Xing sat on her bed in silence for a long time. She tried to listen to what was going on outside her room but could not hear anything.

After waiting for a while, Song Xing Xing finally stood up and limped towards the bathroom. Once she had changed her clothes and washed her face, Song Xing Xing went to her bed and slid under the quilt cover.

It was late at night. Usually, she would already be sleeping at this time. However, too many things happened on the day and Song Xing Xing found that she could not sleep well.

Song Xing Xing turned her body facing the door. 

At this time, Lu Xun was in his apartment and they were merely separated by a wall. Once she opened the door, she would be able to see him.

Her hand raised to touch her lips, remembering the kiss they shared on the riverside. Her heartbeat accelerated and a smile slowly curled on her lips.

However, when her ankle started to throb, the smile quickly disappeared. 

Song Xing Xing closed her eyes, trying to forget the pain by going to sleep.

Meanwhile, Lu Xun continued to stay outside her room, guarding her with Mr. Fluffball at his side. Once he could no longer hear any sound coming from her room, Lu Xun finally lay down on the sofa.

After adjusting himself a few times, he was still unable to find a comfortable spot to lay on. He was too tall for her sofa. Just after he was finally able to find a good posture, the cat jumped up and curled on his chest.

A chuckle escaped him at the way the cat was acting. "Mr. Fluffball, are you planning to accompany me to sleep tonight?"

The cat raised his head and meowed. Then, he continued found a comfortable spot and closed his eyes. His intention was clear.

Lu Xun raised his hand and started to stroke the cat's fur with his hand. His mind wandered as he thought of everything that happened earlier that day.

Shi An Na has gone too far.

He did not know what was her intention to get close to him. However, he was not curious enough to ask.

Initially, he did not want to do anything to her. Lu Xun was hoping that as long as he ignored that person, she will understand that he had no intention to have any sort of interaction with her. However, it seemed that Shi An Na was too stubborn.

It seemed that he will have to find a way to stop her from making trouble for him. It was enough that she had hurt him in the past. If she continued to hurt the people he cared about, Lu Xun would not know how to face them.

After writing instructions to his assistant, Lu Xun fell asleep.

Lu Xun woke up immediately when he heard a loud thud. The cat that was sleeping on top of his chest jumped down and stared at him in anger. Mr. Fluffball was not happy that his sleep was disturbed. 

Ignoring the cat, Lu Xun quickly walked over to the bedroom. He knocked on the door and called, "Xing Xing? Is everything alright?"

There was a brief silence before she finally spoke. "Yeah. I'm alright."

"What happened?" Lu Xun seemed to recall that the sound of the thud was loud enough. Or else, he would not be able to wake him up from sleep. Worried, Lu Xun spoke again. "Xing Xing, I'm coming in, alright?"

Lu Xun pushed the door open and narrowed his eyes to get adjust his eyesight in the dim room. He realized that the girl was not on her bed like she was supposed to be.

"Xing Xing?" Lu Xun called as he walked inside. "I'm turning on the light, alright?" Once the light was switched on, he finally saw her sitting beside her bed. Swiftly, he walked over to her side. "What happened?"

He crouched down beside her and stretched his hand to swept the hair that was covering her face. Lu Xun was surprised upon finding that her eyes were red and tears were streaming down her face. Seeing the scene in front of her, Lu Xun began to panic. "Xing Xing? What happened?"

He quickly shifted his gaze to her bandaged ankle. "Does it hurt here?"

Song Xing Xing pursed her lips tightly to muffle her cries and nodded.

Just now, she woke up with the urge to go to the toilet. With her dazed mind, she seemed to have forgotten about her injury and had stepped on the ground with her bad ankle. The pain jolted her and she fell to the ground with a loud thud.

Song Xing Xing was about to stand up again when she felt the throbbing pain around her ankle. It was unbearable and tears started to come out involuntarily.

It was then that she heard Lu Xun's voice and soon, he entered the room to find her.

Lu Xun quickly lifted her and placed her on the bed. As he touched her bandaged ankle, the girl quickly retreated in pain. 

"Don't touch it."

His gaze softened. "I"m just going to take a look, alright?"

Song Xing Xing hesitated before she finally nodded.

Carefully, Lu Xun began to remove the bandage around her ankle. A flash of surprise appeared on his face. The slight black and bluish color on her ankle made the look on his face turned ugly.

"Wait here for a while. I'll go and grab some ice." 

Song Xing Xing watched as he left her bedroom and gradually sober up. Judging from the noise coming from the kitchen earlier, it seemed that Lu Xun had gone through all cabinets in her kitchen.

It did not take Lu Xun a long time to return with a bag of ice and a towel.

After wrapping the ice with the towel, Lu Xun slowly pressed the ice on her ankle.

Song Xing Xing gasped as the ice touched her skin.

"Does it hurt?"

Song Xing Xing quickly shook her head. "No. Just a little cold."

"Bear with it for a little while. It will be fine soon."

"Oh." Song Xing Xing peeked at his expression and saw the worried look on his face. Seeing the gentle way he was holding her ankle made her heart grew warmer. She stretched her hand and placed it on his. "It's fine now."

Lu Xun heaved a breath as he looked at her. He put the ice and towel aside and looked at her. "Why are you off your bed? Didn't I tell you to call me if you need anything?" 

"I forgot." Song Xing Xing admitted. 

"What do you need? I will go and get it for you."

Song Xing Xing pursed her lips as she hesitated. "I need to go to the bathroom."

Lu Xun halted upon hearing her words.
