You're My Only Star

On the weekend, Song Xing Xing left her cousin's residence after lunch hour.

The little boy was reluctant to let his auntie go and had pestered her to play him for hours. Song Xing Xing had to wait until the boy was taking his nap.

Song Xing Xing went back to her apartment and went to feed Mr. Fluffball. The moment she poured the wet food into the bowl, Mr. Fluffball eyed her suspiciously. However, seconds later, the cat was tempted by the smell of the food and quickly went to eat.

Seeing that the tat had begun to eat his food, Song Xing Xing heaved a sigh before she went around to tidy her place. Song Xing Xing shot her cat a dagger look when she noticed the pot that had fallen on the floor and the scattered soil. 

It seemed that the cat was acting mischievously because she had not returned home last night. Although she felt slightly guilty towards her cat, the feeling quickly disappeared the moment he saw the mess Mr. Fluffball made.

As she began to pick her dirty laundry, the phone on the table started to ring.

Song Xing Xing glanced at the caller ID and her heart skipped a beat upon seeing Lu Xun's name. She slid her finger on the screen and pressed the ear to the phone.

"Xing Xing, I have arrived in T Country," Lu Xun spoke as soon as the call was connected.

Her lips curled into a smile. Earlier that morning, Lu Xun had called to inform her that his flight to To Country will be departed soon. He then promised her that he would give her a call the moment he arrived.

"How was your flight?"

"It's pretty good." Lu Xun began to speak about his flight. "The weather's a bit hot here. It would be better if you are around. What are you up to?"

Song Xing Xing heaved a sigh. "Tidying up my place a little bit. Mr. Fluffball was being naughty and had made a lot of mess."

Lu Xun chuckled. "I have been meaning to ask... Why do you name your cat Mr. Fluffball?"

"This name suited him very much, don't you think? He's a little fat like a ball and his coat is very fluffy."

Mr. Fluffball meowed loudly when he heard that someone was calling him fat.

A smile appeared on her face. A while later, Song Xing Xing heard Assistant Bei Yuan's voice, reminding his boss that they had to head to the hotel soon. Song Xing Xing chuckled. "Lu Xun, you should head over to the hotel and rest."

Lu Xun heaved a sigh before he shot his assistant a dangerous look. This assistant is really troublesome. Why didn't he know how to read the situation?

Special Assistant Bei Yuan stiffened when he saw the look on his boss's face. He quickly grabbed their luggage and busied himself.

With his hand still holding his phone, Lu Xun walked around the airport area while he continued to talk to the girl. The moment he saw the gifts sold at the airport, Lu Xun seemed to remember her request to bring back a few souvenirs for her.

"Xing Xing?"

"En?"

"What do you want as a souvenir?"

Song Xing Xing pondered over his question for a while and recalled that she had asked him for a souvenir. Although she had visited T Country before, she could not think of anything at this moment. "Why don't you pick up anything? Hmm… Surprise me?"

Lu Xun looked around the goods sold at the place but still did not have an idea of what he should get. He recalled that he was supposed to meet a few friends afterward and decided to ask them for an idea.

The two of them continued to talk about this and that until Lu Xun reached the arrival hall. Seeing that the person who was supposed to pick them up had arrived, he quickly said his goodbyes.

As soon as he slid his phone into his coat, the gentle look on his face suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a businesslike smile on his face. "Director Pei. I did not think that you would come over to welcome me personally."

Director Pei laughed happily. The two of them exchanged a few words before the Director ushered Lu Xun and Assistant Bei Yuan to the car that he had prepared earlier.

As they walked over to the vehicle, his gaze caught the sight of someone familiar. Instantly, his expression turned darker.

"President Lu, let me introduce you…" Director Pei turned to the beautiful woman beside him and smiled. "This is Manager Shi. She will be assisting you as long as you stay here. Manager Shi, let me introduce you… this is President Lu of NEXT Group."

"Hello, President Lu. I hope you had a pleasant flight." Shi An Na nodded politely. She stretched her hand to shook hand with him. However, the man did not even spare a glance at her. A few seconds later, Shi An Na had no other choice but to pull her hand away. Her face turned a little red with embarrassment. She did not think that the man would refuse to shake hands with her even with Director Pei's presence. 

Lu Xun turned to Director Pei and spoke again, "Director Pei, I don't need anyone to look after me." He glanced at Assistant Bei Yuan and continued. "After all, my assistant is here with me." 

"This... It would not be right if I did not let anyone look after you. After all, you are our guest here." Director Pei saw the look on Lu Xun's face and began to hesitate.

He had heard that both Manager Shi and President Lu were previously classmates. Director Pei had thought that he could use Manager Shi to win President Lu's trust. However, he did not expect that the man would be cold towards the woman.

Earlier, the Chairman had already warned him that he should not do anything that would upset the man. After all, President Lu Xun is a very important person and the company really need the money that this wealthy person was going to invest.

After weighing his choice, Director Pei became a little sensible.. "If that is what you want, then let's do just as you wanted."
