Of course, she could tell that Lu Xun was unhappy.

From the moment he came to pick her up at the studio, Song Xing Xing had noticed that Lu Xun was unhappy. 

However, why did he suddenly bring up this matter after she told him that he did not have to help her to peel those prawns?

This man was really strange.

Song Xing Xing lowered her hand and asked, "President Lu Xun, why are you unhappy? Did something happen to you at the company?" She sucked some air through her teeth and continued. "It couldn't be, right? You're so good at making money. I think everything should go well with your company."

As she was still wondering about this man's abnormalities, Lu Xun placed another prawn on her plate. 

"It's not about the company. NEXT Group is fine," Lu Xun said. This time, he did not continue working on the prawn. Lu Xun grabbed the wet tissue and started to wipe his hands. Once he was sure that his hands were free from oils, Lu Xun leaned forward and stared at the girl in front of him for a long time.

Noticing that the man was too close to her, Song Xing Xing was a little stunned. They were too close that she was able to look at his eyes behind his glasses.

Her heart skipped a beat and Song Xing Xing was aware that she was now in a dangerous position.

Lu Xun's eyes were too pretty that she would get entranced in them each time she looked at them. 

"You..." Song Xing Xing finally leaned back to create a distance between them. "What are you trying to do?"

Lu Xun heaved a sigh. He leaned back on his seat as he decided to stop teasing the girl. "Initially, I thought that I could use this Bai Zhi as an excuse to pick you and send you over to work," Lu Xun confessed. "I thought that I could use this excuse to chase you."

Hearing his words, Song Xing Xing became a little flustered. Her gaze shifted to her plate and she saw the prawn that Lu Xun had peeled for her.

Then… he was helping her to peel the prawn because he was chasing her?

An indescribable feeling rose from her heart. Something was somersaulting in her stomach and her heartbeat increased.

"I did not think that they would find Miss Bai this fast," Lu Xun continued. "To tell you the truth, I'm a bit relieved and disappointed. It seemed that I have lost my reason to approach you."

Song Xing Xing stared at him with a dazed expression. She had suspected that Lu Xun was trying to pull some trick on her. However, Song Yi had told her that Lu Xun was telling her the truth. After all, her cousin did not have a reason to lie to her.

However, even though Lu Xun had his ulterior motive when he volunteered as her guard and driver, Song Xing Xing did not expect that Lu Xun would admit his intention. Moreover... she did not think that he would say something like he was disappointed that he had lost his reason.

Somehow, she found that President Lu Xun can be… a little cute.

The last time Lu Xun had mentioned this matter about chasing her, she was still upset with him and was unable to give him an answer. Song Xing Xing had thought that perhaps Lu Xun would stop mentioning this matter.

After all, she had made it clear to him that she did not want to be the person for him to use to move on.

Her heart was in disorder again but Song Xing Xing quickly forced herself to calm down. 

The food on the table looked delicious but at this time none of them were in the mood to eat anymore.

As she looked at his face, Song Xing Xing could tell that he was not trying to trick her. She wanted to believe him but she was a little doubtful whether she could do so.

Even after he had hurt her with his action, her heart would still beat faster each time she saw him. Even after she had told herself to move on, she still likes him.

Was she stupid?

"Song Xing Xing, are you really not going to give me the chance to chase you?" Lu Xun spoke after a brief silence. His tone and voice made him sounded so sad. 

Song Xing Xing thought that he looked a little like a lost puppy.

No. She should not get distracted.

Song Xing Xing avoided his gaze again. Then, she bit at her lips, wondering if she should give him a chance.

The truth was that… she was no longer as angry at him after their last talk at the hospital. These days, she no longer wanted to avoid him. However, she still did not know how she should face him.

Song Xing Xing had never thought that liking someone could make her heart this confused.

"Why are you saying these words to me?" Song Xing Xing asked.

Lu Xun continued to stare at the girl for a long time. No matter how he had tried to explain, it did not seem as if Song Xing Xing wanted to believe his words. This time, he hoped that she would be able to understand his intention as she looked at him.

The way he was watching her made her feel a little shy. Her heartbeat was accelerating again and she had this urge to hide from his eyes. Or else, she might die from too much excitement.

"If you want to chase, then just go ahead and chase," Song Xing Xing spoke in a low voice. "Why do you have to ask my permission?"

Lu Xun was stunned at her words. 

He was ready that she was going to ignore him and play dumb again. Lu Xun certainly was not expecting that Song Xing Xing would agree to let him chase her. 

Her hands were trembling a little bit as she had made her decision. Song Xing Xing reached for the prawn that Lu Xun had peeled for her earlier. She took a small bite and tried to act as if she was not affected by her decision. "However, whether you succeed or not is something that I don't know."

Lu Xun heard her words loud and clear. 

Song Xing Xing had agreed to give him a chance. However, for her to accept him, Lu Xun will have to work very hard.

Suddenly, his face turned bright with joy.
