You Will Forever Be My Always

"Aia, you and Riku are going to get married after your guys schooling including college is over." My father said with a straight face.

"What?!" I replied.

"The arrangements have already been made with our family and the Takahashi family." He said.

"But I barely know him and I barely know of him." I complained.

"There's no turning back, what's done is done." He looked at me.

"But that's not fair! On mine and his behalf!" I shouted.

"This is what's best for the company." He stated.

"But-" I said but I got cut off by my father shouting at me.

"That is enough young lady! You are going to marry Riku Takahashi whether you like it or not!" He shouted and walked out the room.

A little insight on my parents they are busy mostly all the time. My mother and father were always strict and looks like they were always mad at something and someone. They've been like that as long as I can remember.

I sat there and dozed off hoping that my dreams would have better outcomes then reality has now. I don't want to hurt his feelings or anything, but I don't want to marry a stranger I never met before. Isn't it a mutual feeling? I want to marry for love and I want to be able to chose the one I want to marry, instead of having someone pick for me. The only benefit coming out of this arrange marriage is making the company stronger for my parents as well as Riku's parents. I couldn't bare the thought that they only use our marriage for their own business needs and nothing else. I suddenly felt my eyes closing until I heard a knock at my door.

"Miss Aia? May I come in?" Violet asked. She's one of the household maids that has been there for me ever since I was born.

"Yes, what is it?" I asked staying on the floor.

"Your father sent me to come get you. He needs to talk to you again." She said opening the door.

"Why?" I blankly asked.

"It's about your engagement Miss." She said helping me up from the floor and using a wet cloth to dry my tears.

"I understand." I said.

"Your father is waiting in his office for you Miss Aia." Violet said and left the room.

I sighed and went to my father's office with my head down. I couldn't stop thinking about marrying a stranger I barely knew. I walked pass my mother's office and as usual she was wasn't there. She's always out with her clients and always busy. I knocked on my father's door and I heard him give me permission to come in.

"Aia, yours and Riku's engagement party will be announced right after high school is over and I expect you to be you to be your best while having your face shown on the media." He said while typing on his computer.

"Yes father." I said.

"You are dismissed." He said with a hand motion.

I left his room and closed the door and went outside. I went to the swing that was made for me when I was little. I sat there looking in the distance not wanting to think about anything.

"Miss Aia, why are you upset dear?" Violet asked me.

"How did you know I was upset?" I asked kindly.

"My dear Aia, you would always come out here to the swing every time you were upset." She said.

"Oh Violet, it's just I don't know how to feel about all this marriage and engagement while Riku and I are still only high school students." I said looking down at the grass.

"Miss Aia, I know this isn't something you want, but sometimes life just throws you on a path that you were meant to be on, no matter how young or old you are. You are the most kind hearted person I have ever met in my life time and I know that you aren't very fond of this marriage, but sometimes you can't do anything about it." She said stroking my hair.

"I know Violet, but I don't even know anything about him except for his name and his parents." I said looking at her.

"That's okay dear, sometimes the best marriages starts out like that and end up being beautiful." She stated and headed back inside to do her housework.

I guess Violet is right. Maybe this is the path I was meant to be on sooner or later. I sat there swinging a little bit and looking up at the sky. It was a beautiful light blue with no clouds at all. Oh how I wish this day can last a little bit longer.
