Will there be a happy ending

6 Do You Want Me Dead?

Hidayat and Daniel were already on the first floor for a round of sparring. As MMA fighters, they were manoeuvring between various jujutsu and boxing. Though, Hidayat favoured more towards Silat while Daniel favoured towards boxing.

Daniel was now jabbing towards Hidayat and Hidayat blocked with his forearm and countered with a half-step in and a right uppercut. Daniel then tilted his head, his chin missing Hidayat's fist by a millimetre, rolled his shoulder to the left and stepped backwards distancing himself away from Hidayat.

Swoop… You could hear the slashing of Hidayat's hard fist swinging in the air as he missed his target. Hidayat's face was blanked out but his eyes had a killing intent that made Daniel shivered. "Damn, Hidayat… That would have caused a major concussion if it had met my chin and might even break me! Do you want to kill me?!" Daniel's howl pulled Hidayat out of his trance…

Hidayat took 2 steps backwards too and lowered his arms. He took several deep breaths and turned away… "Sorry, Daniel… I wasn't thinking," he then lowered himself and laid on the floor. He closed his eyes and put his left forearms on his eyes. Cutting away the lights above.

"What's wrong, Hidayat… What is making you blanking out these days?" Daniel sat beside him. "Do you want to talk?"

"It's okay… I'm fine. Just tired with the upcoming event's progress."

"It's Jacqueline, right? Is she still ignoring your calls and texts…" Daniel tried to probe the information out from his best friend's mouth. However, Hidayat was just laying down quietly. The men lay in the middle of the sparring room silently till Hidayah joined them.

Daniel then sparred with Hidayah while Hidayat had gone to the locker room to shower and returned to his room in the training ground.

After an hour of sparring, Hidayah and Daniel split. Daniel went to the Command Centre and Hidayah went to the shooting range.

At the Command Centre

"So, this is all we had at the moment… Hidayah is planning to expand the Foreign Instrumentation Signals Intelligence Team or FISNT in short, so that we have a solid spread of information gathering for international espionage," Leoniel was sitting behind his desk while Erika was going through the folder that Leoneil had given her earlier in the recon imagery room.

"This is impressive… I never thought that there are so many different skills and support one required for such an army." Erika tried to absorb and memorise as much information she could. Today, she had learnt a lot of new information that she was not aware of. "May I bring this home to read over?"

"Sure."

Erika closed the folder and put it on her lap. She then raised her right arm to check the time.

7 pm.

Leoneil also checked his wristwatch. Wow… it was already this late. "Sorry, I didn't check on the timing."

"It's fine. Both of us were unaware of the timing. It has been fun, though!" Erika smiled sheepishly towards Leoneil, "Wanna have dinner together?"

"Yeah! Let's go. Did you drive here or did you hitch a ride with Hidayah, earlier?"

"Hitch."

"I'll text Hidayah to inform her that I'm bringing you out for dinner." Erika just nodded in agreement. The two left the room and walked out of the building.

Leoneil then drove Erika back to the city and brought her to the Lighthouse Restaurant at The Fullerton Bay Hotel.

"It's my treat tonight" Leoneil spoke after they were seated by the wait staff.
