Chapter 20 - Grab Buster

"Listen we'll grab the prime minister, dish and out, simple."

I said over the radio channel, forests covering the ground as skies are our playground.

Violet on my left with Michael on my right while Beatrice and wolf-gang flown respectively beside them, forming the typical V Aerial mages formation.

Eleonore was instead stay behind, reinforcing the border along with our 3 division and assist the army to reroute the Dacian away.

"And how do you know his position, Kommandant? He's a high-profile figure inside the Dacia, from what I've heard."

The usually silent man, Michael, asked me.

"You can say I have done my homework," Flashing a smirk to him, as the wind comfortably passed between our eyes as the passive shield from the Strike-mages unit strapped on our legs protecting us.

"I see," What a good sub-ordinate I have, well, after all, I hand-picked him from amongst the failure that is the eastern armies.

And that's indeed bad news for us, if the East armies were to be overrun in the scenario of the Union Invasion, cause our base was located 150 km away from their nearest border only to be divided with long plain and forests, occasionally hills in between.

Back to Dacia, although its government was based on that principality, which means a form of a monarch as its head. Dacia adopted the Commonwealth practice by appointing the Prime minister as the head of general and foreign affairs.

It did still reel in my mind, and terribly astonish me of how the absurd the Dacia by declaring the war to the empire. I could still see it afar from here, the Dacian army was entirely in disarray from the 203rd decisive strike.

I was very tempted, to fire at least a single barrage of the welcome party towards their direction, and refrain to do so, a commander has priority as I say. Heh, nice.

Either they were enticed by an outside factor, presumably the common-wealth or that excuse-pathetic of god, Worm, in hope for the Empire to caught in three front-lines war thus exhausting the entire Empire Logistics and economy.

Or am I just overthinking, that is simply the Insanity, irrationality, and Idiocracy that was a human being. Either way, we need to finish this live-combat exercise soon.

We were flying until the sun turns into the moon, and sky painted black as numerous city lights below us beckoning the hangover of their early festivities in the light of war.

I wonder what was being celebrated, that they will gain riches and glory or the simple fact that they were sending sons and fathers right to the maw of a meat grinder.

What a waste, 600.0000 thousand life was jeopardized today, I certainly love to use that numbers, though. It will be in a better hand at least, of how to utilize them.

'FIRE!' screamed the local channel, a sound filled with cruelty yet carrying the innocently conveyed amus.e.m.e.nt of a child.

The night was sleeping so did the laughter on the street, as it died in the coming off the explosive festival from the other side of the city.

"Would you look at that, Wittmann? What an incredible explosion!" Wolfgang in an excitement holds his laughter.

"It must be packed with a lot of flammable materials, a weapon factory perhaps. Inferring from the earlier warning broadcast from 203rd wings."

"Ah indeed, she's technically didn't do anything wrong with war rules. Though I didn't understand why she gives goddamn care about the law our enemies made."

What a ridiculous notion, limiting yourself with silly laws you made with potential enemies. Guess it was taken, people are not as much as war maniac as us, and I indeed can't blame them if they see single blood spilled inside a trench and instead spilled forth their entire stomach.

Everything is permitted. History is written by the victors, no matter how ridiculous and insane the method you were using, if you win you get to write how you win, not the skeleton you buried in six feet under.

"That's why I like you Kommandant, playing with rules? Where's the chaos inside of that."

"Oh, you've mistaken Wolfgang, chaos will always follow you no matter if you play by the book or not."

Back to the matter, was this the first night-raid bombing on enemy capital in this world does have to be this peaceful?

I mean we leisurely flew above the panicking and curious people that drawn into the explosion like a moth to a flame, chatting and joking about how utter they joke they are.

"Building with an Ivory dome, and giant courtyard, isn't that is the one, commandant?" Beatrice said over her radio.

"Yes, it's confirmed that is the council building."

"But are you sure? I mean this is a dawn time, wouldn't the prime minister will be in his house or somewhere else?" Beatrice asked.

I raised my hand in a signal for a halt, and turn towards my team.

"It's the courtesy from the wolf units, they have gracefully handed us some trivial yet important intel from the Dacian government these days. The fact that's the prime minister is an extreme case of a workaholic and even some reports that he had his own bedroom inside the office," I said straight, without the help from radio, and held a blueprint of the council building.

Everyone seems to agree with this, as we descended around the giant ivory dome. Violet was looking around until a single piece of the window she was pulled.

"Okay," getting the attention of all the members, I spread the blueprint on the floor, "This will be simple, the prime minister office should right be located at the utmost top floor with the window facing from the building entrance."

"We'll grab him, and take him to the HQ if any case there's a sudden change in plan," I procured a pristine doc.u.ment from one of my pockets, "He will be forced to sign this treaty."

It actually didn't matter whether he sign this in the HQ or in the comfort of his offices. Since, the actual demand was for the Dacia to surrender, in the peace conference after this war between the Empire and Dacia over, as a formal event.
