Those bodyguards came running to Wu Zixin, begging him not to appoint them in her duty.

If Xion forces her to keep bodyguards, they both end up fighting with each other which in turn is third-degree torture for the people around Xion. Worse thing happens when to oppose the presence of bodyguards around her, she starts giving the silent treatment to him. Giving silent treatment is Xiu Mei's best weapon against Xion.

As the last option to keep her safe from the dangers of the underworld, he has trained her personally in self-defense.
