Xiu Mei looked at him awkwardly, but he was standing there with a stoic face as if he didn't hear any of this shit.

'What husband and wife?'

'What cute couple?'

'Eye candy? He is a monster… if you want to take him home'

'He takes care of me? Never'

'Love in voice when scolding? No bloody ways'

'Making kids with him… Better to jump in the river'

Unable to digest such comments Xiu Mei feels nauseous, she wanted to clear this doubt as soon as possible, so she turned towards them and said politely, "We are not what you are thinking… He is not any of these to me; we are just acquaintances… so please stop this nonsense and go do your own work."

Until now Feng Jianyu did not bother about these strangers comments, but he did not like it when Xiu Mei cleared it. He was displeased with her behavior.

'Why does she have to clear this in front of irrelevant people?'

'Does she hate me so much?'

'Is she blaming me for what happened 7 years back?'

'But I didn't do anything… It was her fault'

'This women is unfathomable'

Feng Jianyu's eyebrows were twisted together and he was looking towards her intricately.

Xiu Mei took the cart from Feng Jianyu's hand and proceeded for the billing counter. She opened her purse and take out a card for the payment, but before she could hand over her card to the sales assistant Feng Jianyu took out a black diamond card and handed over to the sales assistant.

"Swipe this card", Feng Jianyu ordered the SA.

"NO... Swipe mine", Xiu Mei forwarded her card.

"I said DO IT", He said sternly to SA.

"NO… I don't want to take a favor from you… I am already paying for one", she retorted back.

Feng Jianyu took her card from her hand and kept it in his pocket. Then he waved his card to SA.

The sales assistant was already scared of Feng Jianyu's eyes and he immediately swiped his card without any further delay.

Xiu Mei huffed in anger and started putting their bags in the cart. Then she pushed the cart outside the supermarket without waiting for him.

Feng Jianyu was silently following her, he knew she is upset. Reaching the parking lot she unlocked the car and started loading the bags in the car's trunk. He approached her from the side and started helping her to put the bags in the car's trunk.

They both sat in the car and left the supermarket.

Xiu Mei was driving and Feng Jianyu was sitting beside her. As usual, there was silence between them. To break this silence Xiu Mei wanted to play some music so she asked him, "You mind if I play music?"

"NO"

She pressed the music and a soothing love song started to resonate in the car. It was Howie Day- Collide.

It was one of her favorite songs and listening to it, a small smile appeared on her face. Her mood was much better now and she is energized back.

Feng Jianyu sneaked a look at her face. Watching that beautiful smile his heart skipped a beat. At that moment he found her very beautiful and attractive. Unknowingly he was also infected by her smile and his lips curled up.

But it was only for a brief moment; Feng Jianyu suddenly frowned and controlled his emotions. He is shocked at his abrupt behavior. This is the first time when his heart has skipped a beat or he has smiled for no reason. And it's not like he has never seen her smile before. Then what happened today? Is this because of this love song? Or the weather outside is too good?

Feng Jianyu was still lost in understanding his strange behavior when he heard a sound.

"Hmmmm?.... You are hungry?", He looked towards her and asked.

"CEO Feng it's you not me", She pointed her thumb towards him.

"Me?"

"Yaa… This sound is coming from your stomach not mine", Xiu Mei enlightened him.

"What rubbish? How can th…..

'Grrrrrrrrr...rrrrrrrrrrrr....rrrrrrrrrrrrr..'

Feng Jianyu "..."

"Cough… that… I… I… cough… I am sorry", Feeling embarrassed he apologized her.

Xiu Mei smiled and replied, "No need to apologize CEO Feng… You are just hungry and so am I… So where would you like to go for lunch?"

Feng Jianyu was delighted by her courtesy and his mood softened. Earnestly he asked back, "Isn't that supposed to be my question?"

"Why? Just because I am women?", she questioned him back.

"Of course not... But being a gentleman it's against my morality." He gave a straight forward reply.

"Alright! But I have a condition!"

"What?"

"Since you paid for the grocery then I will pay for our lunch."

Feng Jianyu thought about something than nodded his head, "Alright… you pay."

"So where are we going?", He asked back.

She gave a thought to it then replied, "There's a good rooftop restaurant not too far from here. Last time when I went there I especially liked its Chinese food. It's very delicious, let's try it again."

"I am with you", he gave a short reply.

Xiu Mei drives towards the restaurant. After reaching there she parked her car and both went into the restaurant. She asked for a table for two at the window side.

Feng Jianyu noticed that this is an upscale restaurant and wondered if she had brought him here because she thought that I might not feel comfortable eating at a normal restaurant.

To clear his doubt he asked her in a roundabout way, "Do you come here often?"

"Not often… But once in a month probably!", She replied in a relaxed manner.

Feng Jianyu nodded his head; he understood that she doesn't care about the restaurant being upscale and brought him here because she likes it.

He passes the menu to Xiu Mei and asks her to order, "Here take it… you order first"

Xiu Mei ordered 3 dishes, then she hands over the menu back to Feng Jianyu, "I have ordered. See what would you like to order."

Holding the menu in his hand he ordered 2 more dishes and a bottle of wine. Hearing this she stopped him saying, "CEO Feng you are still recovering from your injury… You should not drink alcohol till you are fully healed."

Then she looked at the waiter with a pointed finger and said, "No wine at this table." She then pointed his finger to Feng Jianyu and said, "understood?"
