Under Her Cursed Scythe

53 3 Days Before Halloween PART K

"How...how dare you!" Molly, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation at the corner, could no longer put up with Alivia's attitude, and erupted.

"Molly, she's just bluffing-"

"You shut up!" she told the boy in the white cloak and then whipped her head back at Alivia. "He's giving you a second chance! He offered you his help but you…such an ungrateful creature!" she bellowed. "You are just like the others, cunning and heartless, playing with our sympathies!"

"Ming, please carry her out of the room before she loses her mind again." the boy in the white cloak said and quickly returned to Alivia. "Listen to me, lady. The ring…you might think you can control it but in fact-"

"Let go off me!" Molly screamed when Ming caught her up by the arm. "Let me kill this creature!" She attempted to yank herself out of Ming's grasp but he was too strong.

In face of this problem, Molly changed her tactics at once. She enchanted a spell after which something gold and string-like raised from underground, forming thick vines, and abruptly encircled around the two boys' limbs, restraining their movements and slamming them against the empty walls.

Shortly after that, she easily struggled out of Ming's forced-open palms, approached Alivia indignantly and grabbed her wrist vigorously with one hand.

A metallic scent of magic became thick in the air and sounds of wind chimes tinkling resounded when Molly crooned a remotely different incantation. Thinner vines instantly "grew" from the ground and they swirled around her other hand, forming a golden dagger that glistened under the light and looked so sharp that it might cut through bones like butter.

She wielded the dagger and was in the position, ready to chop Alivia's fingers off like a butcher to her pig.

"It's time to say goodbye to your pretty fingers..." Molly grinned at Alivia, brandishing the knife among her palm.

"No, Molly. Don't!"

Fortunately, one of the magic the boy in the white cloak specialized in was lightning speed. He managed to cut through the vines with his hands by vibrating them so fast that no human eyes could catch any of their movements. And once he loosened himself from the vines, he dashed forward and pushed Molly's arm in time, leading her to drop the dagger before she stabbed it into Alivia's hands.

"What's wrong with you, Molly?" the boy in the white cloak shouted. "This isn't you!"

"Molly, don't vent your anger on her! The Witch who killed your sister isn't this one!" shouted Ming, slowly cutting himself lose from the vines while the boy in the white cloak spread his arms and blocked Molly's way when she attempted to retrieve the knife.

"Molly, your emotions will pollute your Familiar if you lose the balance! " the boy in the white cloak reminded her again. "So keep it together and hear me out, will you?"

"Just get out of the way!" Molly neglected everyone's words, and with fierceness overtaking her features, she forcefully pushed the boy in the white cloak onto the ground. Then, she marched towards the dagger like a robot who was fulfilling someone's command.
