Under Her Cursed Scythe

20 6 Days Before Halloween Part G

"Hey, girls. Listen. I don't think the time has something to do with the-" Albert attempted to draw the girls' attention back on himself. However, they had already wallowed in their gossips and baloney.

"Oh my! So it's either Alivia's the killer or her mother is. That's why she was acting so nervous just now!" Regina conjectured, slowly ignoring the fact that her first statement that linked Alivia to the serial killer was merely a sarcastic remark to slander her.

"And that might also be why she's a Jinx...because she's cursed!" someone intoned.

"Cursed by her mother or the people she killed..." Ashley added. Her nails had dug deep into the skin around her neck area and were almost scraping it at that point as though there was an itch that she had to ease but somehow couldn't.

Just then,

"Hey, what are you talking about?" some boys who had just came back from their basketball games, came forth with their sweaty athletic bodies and asked when they overheard the girls' conversations. "I heard you mentioning something about a killer and someone being cursed?"

"Oh, hey!" Regina greeted sweetly, twisting a lock of her hair.

"We..." Ashley said and glanced up at the boys with blushed cheeks. Meanwhile, though her hand remained attached to her neck, she only added strength to her fingers due to the self-consciousness she had felt since the boys had showed up. "We were just talking about Alivia."

"The Jinx? What's up with her?"

"We think she or her mother might be a serial killer!"

"Serial killer? Are you serious?" The boys' interests were aroused instantly. "In what way?"

"So we were…"

"Let me explain it to you!" Regina butted, intentionally cutting off Ashley's attempt at drawing all the boys' attention to herself. "So there's these weird deaths where those people died of unexplained causes..."

"Man, that sounds so… scary but go on!"

"Well, I personally think it's Alivia," Ashley cut in fiercely, sparking tension between her and her so-called best friend. "Cus last Monday, I saw her walk into an alley with a little cat in her arm..." she chattered and began to scratch her neck furiously again. "And after walking into one of the backdoors and coming back out again, her hand appeared empty and I heard the poor thing's distressed cry for help. And then you know what?"

"What?" The boys' eyes blazed with anticipation and nervousness.

"I went around the corner to see the front of the place that she had been in, and I found out it was…" Ashley halted, a grim look falling across her face. "A Chinese restaurant."

"No way! Do you mean she- blargh!" Someone made sounds of vomiting, acting disturbed.

"No...shit! That's wicked!"
