Umi to Kaze no Oukoku

Eight stories. Can't you be a professor if you're not a freak?

As an audience student at the University of Paloma, Shaw, accustomed to Professor Baggins' lectures, decided to listen to the lectures recommended to the students from one end.

"Professor Ann Granger says it's feminine. Master Shaw, it's awkward to be in a lecture."

Wonder and Seagal thought it would be harmless to listen to a lecture once or so, whether it was a somewhat unusual professor, to make Shaw like it, but his hips were drawn to the lecture on women's studies.

"Feminine studies? Oh, the protection of women's human rights, the aspiration to advance into society... surely the marriage system in the Southeast Islands is going to be mentioned in the balls ~"

Seagal and Wonder howled down their chests thinking they wouldn't be in the lecture on Shaw's words, but the inquirer didn't.

"But I also have doubts about the marriage system in the Southeast Islands, so it might be interesting."

"You're kidding! Master Shaw, aren't you listening to women's studies?

"The three countries of the Old Empire are biased in the marriage system in the Southeast Islands. Students who are taking women's studies, for example, don't know what kind of tantrum to speak of."

The two of us vehemently disagreed with me, and I did get lost that I might, but if I thought I couldn't listen to it, I'd think I should stop.

"If you're a professor of bee woman libs, you can cut them once. I also find the position of the women of the three former empires unstable. Besides, the marriage system in the Southeast Islands is true, I'm not sure..."

Shaw said you guys don't have to listen, but Wonder and Seagal refuse to overlook the fact that the prince can be given to the jade alone.

"But I'm finishing my lecture this week. Take other lectures first."

Seagal, having spent time with Shaw and knowing his personality that he wouldn't pull off later if he seemed to be quiet and said quite a few things, was useless to disagree with, but thought that if it made him otherwise interested, he would be satisfied once he took it. Thus, I listened to a lecture that seemed gradually interesting, but a question arose for the three of them.

"You have a lot of personalized professors."

To Seagal's far-flung comments, Shaw returned a straightforward opinion.

"If you're not a freak, can't you be a professor?

Wonder wanted to go out to sea and sighed.

"Maybe there's a normal scholar-skin professor out there. I guess we just happened to listen to personalized professor lectures. But Professor Alex von Clemens, in particular, was out of line."

"What, Alex von Clemens...... Professor Leather von Baggins Clemens and the name behind you, right? Are you a relative? No way... a couple or something..."

Shaw asked Professor Baggins after his lecture, maybe.

"Yeah, Alex and I are a couple. Did you take Alex's lecture? It's not useful in real life at all. It's as beautiful as math. It's magic, it's ancient documents, it's captured in the past."

Shaw thought what Professor Baggins said was true in his previous life, but he was surprised that there were dragons in this world and magic existed.

"But magic exists, so I think we need systematic research,"

Professor Baggins sighed and taught Shaw the current state of magic.

"Magic does exist, but there are more overwhelming people who don't have magic. And yet, you can't rely on a therapist for medical care. I want to develop the world by studying mathematics, science and medicine, but Alex and the others are immersed in the study of magic and the ancient kingdom of Sin. Sure, magic is handy. But I wonder what happens to the lives of people without magic."

Shaw takes into account what Professor Baggins says in particular. Even after returning to the embassy, I continued to worry about using my previous life's knowledge in the evolution of science.

"This world is certainly lagging behind in science, technology and medicine. What am I supposed to do? I love sailboats and they're ecological, but steamships can sail even if it's windier, right? Steam locomotives, oh, power plants can make a difference."

Shaw thinks about what the consequences would be if he used the memories of his previous life.

"The industrial revolution doesn't just bring good things, does it? This beautiful sky turns gray with coal smoke, and I learned about youth labor, in social studies, but it also inspired the Great War, didn't it? Speaking of war, there is no gunpowder invented in this world. I can certainly do it with charcoal, sulfur and nitric acid, but I can tolerate fireworks, and I don't want to go to war with artillery or anything! Some of my memories are useful, but others are harmful to this world. They don't use fossil fuels, so the sky is beautiful too - but winter in the Kingdom of Laurent in the north will be cold..."

Shaw worried, but the steamship decided to give up for the moment.

"Now that I'm at the University of Paloma, if I pass on the concept of a steamship, I'm sure some people will realize that Columbus has discovered a new continent on a sailboat, even if I don't advance civilization, someone will."

Shaw, drawing his own conclusions, goes downstairs for dinner.

"When you need to rethink it again, just think about it then."

Had Aslan found out about the idea of an optimistic shaw, he would have stuffed it with heppoco.
