Twenty Seven Years

Chapter 62: sorry

  Chapter 62 Sorry

Villac first came to Diaz's room on the second floor, knocked on the door twice, and the door opened. Diaz was probably waiting for him.

"Um."

"Um."

The two nodded to each other tacitly.

After Verac entered the room, Diaz knew that time was running out, so he went out the door directly: "Sit down and wait, I'll go and have a look."

"Alright, stay safe." Verac sat on the sofa, took off his hat and waited for news from Diaz.

Judging from yesterday's situation, it took Diaz only a few minutes to confirm the situation, but for Verac, these few minutes became extremely long. He crossed his hands, closed his eyes and waited for the news. He spent more time thinking about what to say to Nord if he saw him, how to explain everything to him, and how to tell Demps news of his death.

This side is definitely a must-see, but it might give Nord both power and a punch.

   "Alas..." Verak sighed.

He admitted that he took this wrong step. He shouldn't have brought Dempsey and Nord here. He dragged them into the abyss without telling them the truth. This guilt will forever linger in his heart.

"Dong dong dong." There was a knock on the door, and Diaz came back.

Villac stood up abruptly, and his calf was knocked by the corner of the table because he was too anxious. Enduring the pain, he quickly walked to the door and opened it. Seeing Diaz's joyful face, he felt relieved.

"Mr. Chris, the door is locked!" Diaz closed the door and said with a smile.

   "That's good." Verak also smiled.

"Although according to my recent observations, the two monitors usually stay together for a long time, but accidents may still happen, so let's hurry up." Diaz acted a little more anxiously than Verac , "I will help you open the door later, and I will watch outside. If there is a situation, I will find a way to get rid of those people first, and you find a chance to leave."

Verak shook his head: "Even so, I don't know how to lock the door. When they come back and find that the door is unlocked, you should know what kind of chain reaction it will have...In short, I will come out as soon as possible."

   "Okay, let's go then."

The two came to the fourth floor. To be on the safe side, Verac hid at the corner of the stairs first. He watched as Diaz crept to the door of Room 7 and squatted down, trying to open the door with a wire.

After more than ten seconds, Diaz slowly pulled out the wire and waved to Verak at the corner.

  Verak walked over quickly.

"The door is already open. I'll be watching, don't worry." Diaz finished in a low voice and stepped aside, ready to deal with accidents.

Villac stood in front of the door of Room No. 7, holding the doorknob with his hand. Now that he was only a door away from Nord, he was extremely nervous.

He turned to look at Diaz, who gave him a slight nod.

   "Hoo..."

Verak's eyes became firm, and he gently pressed the doorknob, and the door opened.

What came into view was a small and simple house.

The window facing the door was boarded up, making the room slightly dark. There is only a table, two chairs, and a bed in the room, and there is only a set of lunch boxes on the table.

Verak walked in and saw a person sleeping on the bed with his back turned to him, but he recognized it immediately.

   That's Nord.

Verak closed the door gently again, and approached Nord step by step.

It is probably because there is nothing here, so Nord can only spend time sleeping.

"Nord." Verak stood beside the bed, leaning over and calling for Nord.

   Nord did not respond.

   "Nord," Verak called again.

Nord moved his body, he slowly opened his eyes, turned around and glanced at Veraker, his sleepy eyes immediately enlarged, his stubble hadn't been taken care of for a long time, his haggard face was filled with disbelief.

Verak initially thought that Nord would yell when he saw him, and he was even ready to cover Nord's mouth at any time, but he didn't expect Nord to make a sound when he saw him.

"Nord?" Verak felt that Nord should have not woken up, so he called his name again.

Nord didn't dare to blink, stared at Verak, sat up, his lips trembling slightly: "It's... is it you... Verak..."

"It's me." Verak's nose was sore, and he grinned.

"I...I'm not, am I not dreaming? Verak?! Is it really you?!" Nord stuttered because he was too excited, his face quickly filled with joy, "You, how did you come in How are you? Are you okay? Did they bully you?"

Verak held Nord's shoulder with one hand: "I'm fine, how are you?"

"I'm not bad, not bad, I knew you would find me." Nord was emotional, his eyes were bright, and crystal tears rolled down his cheeks, "I knew that everyone would be fine..."

Verak's eyes were flushed, he closed his eyes and lowered his head to soothe his emotions, "You've been waiting for this day for a long time, haven't you?"

Nord didn't answer this question first, but said what he thought was the most important information: "Verak, you have to be careful of Dempsey, the butler came to us more than ten days ago and wanted us to betray you, Dempsey, he didn't resist the temptation—"

"He's dead." Verak still lowered his head, he didn't dare to look directly into Nord's eyes who knew about this, "...I killed him."

   Nord froze.

"I was afraid that he would put me to death, so I killed him." Verak said very simply. These words were repeated tens of thousands of times in his mind, and only when facing Nord would he not defend himself and reveal his most despicable side.

"He...he just..." Nord was speechless, the joy of finally seeing Veraker was completely washed away by Dempsey's death.

"I'm sorry about this." Verak opened his eyes, eyes full of regret, "If I didn't take the initiative to bring you to Lazein, Dempsey would not die, and you would not be killed. Imprisoned until now..."

"You? Didn't the Thomas family bring us here? What does this have to do with you?" Nord still had tears on his face, but the truth of the matter kept refreshing his cognition.

Verak was silent for a while, and finally mustered up the courage to raise his head.

Two pairs of blood-red eyes stared at each other.

"I have known for a long time that the Thomas family will find me." Various emotions on Veraker's face were mixed together, looking extremely bleak, "I thought I could lead you to get the life you want by virtue of my advantages, I thought ...I have harmed you..."

Nord was full of disappointment and disbelief.

This response made Veraker even more painful, but he desperately wanted to release the shame he felt towards his friend.

Dempsey's death tortured him every sleepless night, driving him crazy.

   "Nord, I'm sorry."
