Her movements were very fast, with her mouth showing a little smile. She radiated a warm feeling that set people at ease. Seeing this, Chu Lili slowly came to her side and pulled her hand.

Chu Lixue was startled, before looking over and asking. "Why did you come over here sweetie? You'll get dirty..."

"Mommy, I also want to make some!"

After filling a few of them, Chu Lili asked shyly, "Mommy, can I form them as well?"

Not guaranteed the dumpling wouldn't break apart while boiling later on...

"I can do it mommy!"

Compared to Chu Lixue's speed, in the time Chu Lili managed to make one, Chu Lixue could properly make at least five or six dumplings. Chu Lili was visibly unsatisfied. After another try, seeing that she couldn't properly do them, she couldn't help but look a little sad.

"Lili, don't you like Lucky? Look, weren't the two of you playing together before? Now that you are here, wouldn't he get lonely?"

Chu Lixue felt a little guilty for lying to her own daughter, but she couldn't think of a better way to let her daughter leave the kitchen. After all, she didn't want to hurt her feelings.

Mu Ruqin already got bored of playing with the dog, so Lucky was currently lying down in the hallway with closed eyes, his toy inside his mouth.

Seeing this, little Lili thought that her mother made sense. Dogs were also living creatures, they should also have feelings, right?

"I'm going to play with Lucky!" Chu Lili said in a louder voice and run out of the kitchen.

Seeing this, Chu Lixue quickly stopped for a second and went to the hallway to make sure that Lili wouldn't fall down while running. Seeing that everything was alright, she shot an apologizing gaze towards her dog. After all it was true that he was getting smarter.

Originally, when she bought him, he was already trained. While right now she still couldn't feel any energy inside him or know what type of ability he would get, she could sense a small crystal nucleus forming inside his head. Most likely his intelligence should have reached that of a young human child.

After going back inside the kitchen and working on the food for a few minutes, Mu Ruqin slowly trailed inside the room. She still didn't know much about cooking, so instead of being a burden, she smartly decided to sit down on a chair next to the table and just look.

"Oh right, did someone come to look for you before?" Mu Ruqin was almost certain that when she woke up, she heard the sound of the apartment's doors being closed. It was either someone coming to their house, or her mishearing it.

"Oh, Chubby, Hu Wei and Sister Ren came before." Chu Lixue was focused on making dumplings for all of them, so she didn't put much thoughts into what she said.

Since she woke up when their conversation already ended, Mu Ruqin had no idea what they talked about.

"Did they need some help? Usually they wouldn't come so early in the morning for no reason..."

"Oh, we talked about going outside the base to collect some resources. Ren Ming asked an officer during her work about it. The base allows people to get out, but we'll need to pick out a task while going outside. Most of them are either collecting resources from warehouses for the military, or rescuing people from other squads. If someone doesn't want to take any tasks and still wishes to leave the base for some time, then they would need to pay a tax upon coming back. It should be a few dozens of crystal nucleuses."

Chu Lixue stopped for a moment, looked at Mu Ruqin and continued, "We are thinking of taking a task of bringing back resources. There's a minimal amount required to be brought back. The more we hand over, the more points we would get in exchange. Later on, the points could be used to exchange for various things from the military. Even if we don't want to hand over too many things, we still need some for ourselves to finish renovating our houses."

The current points exchange system that the base introduced was not perfect, it was just something the government suggested to do. However, from what she could understand, as long as it passed the initial phase, it could very well turn into the basic monetary system used for a long time, at least until the base had the capacity to be self-sufficient. No, it would be more accurate that it would slow down once there was nothing left to collect.
