The Urban Dao Child

624 Annual Meet.

Yang Dao and Dao Yin were not aware that Zen had gone to visit the child back at the Yang Family domain. The couple was completely focused on cultivation and some gossip inside the Dao Space. A month passed in a blink and the door of the house was knocked on by Laohu Bai.

The lady with white hair was standing outside with a calm expression and the disciples in the surrounding cottages were feeling shocked. They had no idea why the chief instructor has came out to see the two jewels. Yang Dao and Dao Yin had gained a lot of reputation in the place, the disciples also ventured outside and heard a lot of things about the two.

Laohu Bai was about to raise her hand again to knock when the door was pushed open from the inside. Yang Dao stood with a goofy smile and said, "Sorry for the delay Big Sister Bai, we just woke up."

Laohu Bai gazed at him and said, "It is good that you have woken up. You seem prepared, shall we go?"

Yang Dao nodded and looked back at the inside of the house, "Yin, come on."

Dao Yin appeared with her elegant looks and she greeted Laohu Bai. The people then made their way to the core area of the holy land. Dao Yin asked, "Big Sister Bai, where are we going?"

Laohu Bai smiled and said, "The pillar of the four beasts. The gate that leads to the sacred town."

Yang Dao opened his eyes wide and asked, "What do you mean, the sacred town?"

Laohu Bai said, "This place is located in a secret realm discovered by the master of the holy lands. The master decided to hold an annual meeting in this place and he connected this place with four gates for the people of the four holy lands to come together."

The dao couple nodded and suddenly, Yang Dao asked, "Say, Big Sister Bai, can we go and eat food in our free time?"

Laohu Bai chuckled and said, "Yes, you can."

The couple nodded and before he could ask anything else, they found themselves standing in front of a big pillar. The tip of the pillar was not visible, it seemed to be vanishing in the heavens. Yang Dao and Dao Yin were fascinated by the four beasts engraved on the pillar.

They could sense the Dao resonating from the pillar, however, they had sealed their memories so they have no idea of what was happening. Laohu Bai placed her hand on the pillar and the pillar started to glow with golden light.

She turned around and said, "Follow me."

Yang Dao said, "This is not the light at the end of the tunnel is it?"

Laohu Bai rolled her eyes at him and then she walked into the light Yang Dao held Dao Yin's hand and they walked inside too.

When the two people came out of the light, they found themselves, standing on a platform, and in front of them stood a town with white houses and black ground. The town had a bustling marketplace and four roads that lead to the center of the town where stood a huge stadium. Yang Dao and Dao Yin looked around with great curiosity.

Laohu Bai said, "Flying is forbidden, come we will walk to the stadium, and Yang, you can pick up all the food that you want on the way."

Yang Dao smiled and said, "Long Live Big Sister Bai."

It was not only because she loved him but she wanted him to be happy with her and then flex this in front of the other familiar beast spirits as they will have no other options but to act unfamiliar with the boy.

Laohu Bai and the couple walked on the roads, and Yang Dao would stop from time to time to buy the food that smelt nice to his nasal cavity. Dao Yin had become a butler. However, the girl had no complaints about it.

They took an hour to reach the stadium, and Yang Dao found the place to be filled with a lot of people. Laohu Bai said, "They are the residents of the town. They came here to witness the meet. The four chief instructors of the holy lands cannot be the judge, they might show favoritism, so these are the judges."

The couple nodded and they acknowledged the rules. Laohu Bai brought them to a stand that oversaw the whole place and they found similar stands in the other three directions. Yang Dao and Dao Yin could observe the four chief instructors as well as the people behind them. Dao Yin said, "They look strong Yang."

The boy gnawed on a piece of meat in his hand and said, "Yeah."

He gulped down the morsel and said, "I think we can beat them. Just do your best and be calm."

Dao Yin nodded. Laohu Bai said, "They have a cultivation base higher than you, so be careful."

The couple nodded and Yang Dao asked, "Where is sister Zen?"

As soon as his words dropped Zen appeared in the center of the field and she clapped her hands. The people all fell silent. Unlike the usual smile on her face. Zen seemed to be completely indifferent. She said, "Welcome to the annual meet of the holy lands. Today the top disciples of the chief instructors will represent their holy lands and compete with each other. The contenders are to come forth when I call their names."

Yang Dao whispered, "Sister Zen is so majestic."

Dao Yin nodded forcefully.

Zen heard this given her omnipotent hearing but managed to keep her poker face on and said, "The disciples of the Vermillion Phoenix Holy Land, Mika, and Kim. The disciples of the black turtle holy land, Kiya and Avalon. The disciples of the Azure Dragon Holy Land, Lisa, and Gale. Last but not the least, the disciples of the White Tiger Holy Land Yang Dao and Dao Yin."

Laohu Bai nodded and the two people vanished from her side and appeared in the center of the field. They bowed to Laohu Bai and the other six people standing in front of them. The others also bowed back to them. Zen said, "The defeat of your partner is your own defeat, so if one is unable to keep up, the other will also lose. Understood? You can use any means that you may find useful. Now, let the battle begin."

Zen vanished from her spot and so did the eight people. However, Yang Dao and Dao Yin did not move in to attack the people, but they moved back to the two corners of the field. They both were holding their swords in their hands and gazing at the three people in front of them. While Yang Dao faced the three girls, Dao Yin was up against three boys.

The situation did not seem normal to the two of them. Yang Dao was not in the mood to have a chat with the ladies and assumed his stance, and the next moment, he attacked the people with his full power. He did not intend to hold back anything. The opponent was not a simple one.

He cast a lightning attack at the girls and dispersed them, and then he slashed at them with his sword intent. However, the opponents did not receive huge damage, they countered his attacks with their own.

The situation on Dao Yin's side was similar to this. However, they were both aware of what they needed to do in this match. They have been playing in sync with each other for a long time and this was the time they played solo. When they acted in unison even if they were not together, then it hindered their progress.

Following this line of thought, Dao Yin suddenly became ferocious in her sword attacks. The elemental attacks became her cover. She will protect herself with elemental shields and attack with complete indifference.

Yang Dao would attack with his elements and parry the incoming attacks with the sword attacks. He was the complete opposite of Dao Yin. The other thing was that he stood in one spot while Dao Yin was moving all over the field.

They had given up sync and the output has increased. Feng Yun suddenly mumbled, "Sync and de-sync, when did they achieve this?"

Laohu Bai said, "Just now."

Atsuji Kurogame and Ryu Jinshi had faint smiles on their faces. Zen's voice sounded in their minds, "Why do I feel like the masters are still holding back by a lot?"

Laohu Bai and the others looked at the field and they all spoke in unison, "They are looking for the second level of Unity."

Zen was surprised, and just as she was about to express her opinion, Yang Dao and Dao Yin seemed to have interchanged their attacking pattern again. Yang Dao had become a ferocious blade wielder, while Dao Yin was the elemental priestess.
