The Urban Dao Child

Yang Dao and Dao Yin appeared with Zen floating over a mountain. The boy said, "Did you not say we need to go to an imperial palace or something to check on the emperor?"

Zen said, "The status of the holy land is above the empire. You should keep this in mind, and have these people respect you. They are aware of our arrival and they will come to us."

The two people nodded and Dao Yin said, "Yang, you need to be calm and patient."

The boy gawked at her and said, "You of all people do not preach me on this."

Yang Dao and Dao Yin began to bicker and Zen just watched over them from the side with a smile. After a few minutes, Zen said, "They have come."

The two people stopped bickering and stood together. Soon they found a jade boat coming over from the distance. This boat was bigger than the one Zen had given them when they went to the village of immortals.

The boat stopped a few meters away from the mountain peak and a young lady paired with an old man flew over. They saw Zen and bowed deeply, "Greetings, Caretaker Zen."

Zen nodded and said, "Prime Miniter Xing, Princess Jiling."

The two people raised their heads, and they were surprised to look at the two youngsters behind the lady. The prime minister, nodded to the two people and the Dao couple returned the gesture with slight smiles.

Zen said, "These two are the treasures of our holy land. Yang Dao and Dao Yin. They are both true immortals, and age sixteen. They both are saint-level alchemists and I think their martial prowess will speak for itself in the future."

Yang Dao bowed slightly followed by Dao Yin. The prime minister was shocked and said, "To think the youngsters are so qualified. My lady, please allow us to invite you over to the imperial palace."

Zen nodded and said, "Thank you."

Then she jumped in the jade boat and Yang Dao said, "Yin?" as he offered her his hand.

The girl took his offer with a smile and the two people jumped in the spirit boat. They sat behind Zen. The old man and the princess came in the boat and they controlled the boat to fly away. Yang Dao asked, "Sister Zen after we see his excellency the emperor, can we stroll in the local market?"

Zen asked, "Why so?"

Yang Dao replied, "To gather intel."

Dao Yin snickered and said, "He wants to eat the local snacks, Sister Zen. Yang is a foodie."

Yang Dao mouthed to her, 'Traitor.'

Zen smiled, "Only if you can cure him, you can go out and eat what you want and how much you want."

Yang Dao reacted in a blink, "You cannot go back on your word now. I will ask prime minister Xing and her highest Jiling to bear witness."

Zen chuckled and said, "If I did go back, then what?"

Yang Dao said, "I will not talk to you ever." his voice was calm, and Zen could tell he was telling the truth.

She recalled how she missed him and Dao Yin over the eons. She shivered but after calming down her emotions she said, "Fine, you win. But make sure to cure him first."

Yang Dao smiled and said, "I knew you are the best."

Dao Yin smiled beside him. She gazed at Princess Jiling and asked, "Your Highness, you do not speak much."

The prime minister frowned and wanted to say something when Princess Jiling waved her hand and made a few signs. She said that he was born mute. Her mouth won't let out a noise no matter what method they treat.

Dao Yin said, "I apologize, I was not aware of it."

Yang Dao smiled and said, "Dao pupils."

His eyes changed and the prime minister and the princess were shocked. However, Yang Dao said, "Hmmm, the meridians are not formed properly. I wonder if your highness would allow me to cure you."

Dao Yin also changed her eyes and looked at the princess. She said, "Indeed, can be cured but the process will be painful."

Jiling could not believe her ears. Yang Dao said, "You do not have to think that we are making a joke here. As an alchemist, we should never look down on an illness. Traditional methods cannot cure you, but needle therapy can. What I mean to do is to channel the spiritual energy through your malformed meridians, then correct them. However, the correction will be painful, more than anything you have ever come across."

Jiling bowed her head and nodded, then she moved her hands saying, I am willing to take on any pain that may allow me to speak.

While they were talking the spirit boat arrived at the imperial palace. Yang Dao and Dao Yin got off, and the empress came to greet them personally. A middle-aged woman, she was at the peak of her beauty and she was a great one, but Yang Dao held onto Dao Yin's hand. His gaze was firm like a mountain.

The lady said, "Welcome, forgive us for this excuse of a reception."

Dao Yin asked, "Can we see his excellency first? The poison will eat him even more if we delayed the time here."

The empress came to her senses and immediately led the people through the palace. Yang Dao was gazing at everyone as if looking for something. Dao Yin said, "What happened?"

Yang Dao said, "I sensed the scent of a Daemon in the air. Very vague, but present."

Dao Yin raised her eyebrow and then looked around with her nose sniffing the air. Their actions were weird but nobody had the guts to call it out or even think about laughing. Zen cleared her throat and asked, "What is it?"

Yang Dao said, "Daemon presence."

This time his voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. Zen nodded and said, "Your deduction is correct, but the stench is too low to be daemon presence."

Yang Dao and Dao Yin wanted to say something when the Empress said, "Your excellency, we have arrived. This is where he is resting."

They stood in front of a big door. Yang Dao said, "The stench is coming from inside."

Without waiting for anyone, he pushed open the door and walked inside. Dao Yin followed the man guy and they found that in the center was a big bed, enough to fit four people. On the bed, lay a man, his skin was pale, as if his veins were filled with water. Yang Dao said, "He is the source."

The empress flared up and said, "How dare you say such a thing?"

Dao Yin said, "What he meant is, that the emperor's poison is the source of this stench."

Prime minister Xing asked, "What is this poison?"

Yang Dao said, "The blood of a Daemon."

His words shocked the people present, the empress almost fainted from the news. She mumbled, "It is over."

The prime minister shook his head and said, "The crown prince, did such a thing. This is heinous."

His trembling body was enough to tell everyone that he was enraged. Yang Dao clicked his tongue and said, "Leave the room please, we need to start treatment."

Zen noticed that the people were all shocked and that Yang Dao was not willing to waste another second on this. She waved her hand and the people were standing outside the room. Zen closed the doors and sat down in the void. She said, "Calm down, they will cure him."

Inside the room, Yang Dao and Dao Yin had divided their work. Dao Yin was going to drain the toxic blood while Yang Dao will replace it with pills.

Dao Yin made an incision on the thumb of the emperor and began to control the dirty blood to flow out like water. Yang Dao began to concoct pills at the side.

After half an hour, Dao Yin was done and so was Yang Dao. The boy placed the pill in the mouth of the emperor and using spirit energy he made it slip down. The pill was called the Nine death blood regeneration pill. It will regenerate the blood lost quickly.

The pill melted and Yang Dao used his own spiritual energy to help the dying emperor digest the effects. As the blood began to regenerate, Yang Dao fed the man another pill, this pill was to rejuvenate the spirit energy in his body. This was another high-level pill, Heaven Rejuvenation Pill.

These pills were not found by just anyone and neither can anyone make them easily. What took Yang Dao a single attempt, it may take even the most accomplished alchemist, at least, a dozen tries. The pills worked and the emperor gained his vitality.

Dao Yin asked, "What to do with this?" pointing at the blob of dirty blood in the void.

Yang Dao said, "Destroy it."
