The Rest, Only Noise

Chapter 41: Become a bad dog

Since the 1976-77 season, the first round of the playoffs has implemented a first-round bye system for the top two in the division.

That is to say, such an exciting gimmick as Hei Ba was directly deprived of the rules by the alliance.

The top two teams in the division directly advance to the semifinals, while the bottom four teams in the division play in a best-of-three knockout match.

What's more interesting is that the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs, two famous Western teams in later generations, were both Eastern Conference teams in 1980. This year, the two Texas teams will have a best-of-three playoff in the first round.

The civil war between the Rockets and the Spurs lasted three games. The Rockets won 2-1 and advanced to the semifinals and came to the Celtics.

Malone averaged 27 points and 17 rebounds per game, overwhelming George Gervin, who averaged 33 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game.

The semifinals started as usual, and the Celtics had no pressure.

Although Malone is a variable, a superstar who does not have the ability to attack is not enough to change the battle situation.

The Celtics may only have played 70% of their combat effectiveness, because Bird still played awkwardly. Although the media has repeatedly exclaimed, Louis feels that he still has a lot to spare.

In the best-of-seven semifinals, the Rockets failed to take a win from the Celtics.

They simply lost the semifinals.

When the local media in Houston pointed the microphone at Malone and asked him how he felt about the loss.

He first replied: "Guru! #¥@"

"what?"

"Moses, I understand what you said, but can you be more specific?" In fact, the reporter couldn't hear what Malone was saying.

Malone frowned sullenly and said hesitantly, "Moses... nothing to say."

The interviews with Malone and Spurs scoring champ George Gervin were definitely two highlights.

They both like to represent themselves in the third person, Gervin for being cool, Malone purely for being boring. For years, imitating Malone's speech has been an NBA preserve.

April 20, 1980

Boston, Massachusetts, Boston Garden

The first game between the Celtics and the 76ers started here.

Although midsummer has not yet arrived, the atmosphere here has become unbearable.

Louie doesn't like to play at home at any time.

The Celtics should be the only team in the league that still uses the old arena built in 1920 to play games.

The Boston Garden must have been advanced in 1920, but now...

How to accurately describe the feeling here? As soon as Louis walked into the garden, he was overwhelmed by the smell of popcorn, strong beer, hot dogs, and elephant dung coming from all directions. Why is there elephant dung? Because the Boston Garden is a multi-purpose commercial venue—even though it doesn't even have air conditioning, it's a multi-purpose venue, and that includes circus performances, which unfortunately happened to happen right before the Celtics game. The show is here, and their elephants happen to leave physical traces here.

Despite Luinin's disbelief, the old garden does have a ventilation system consisting of 14 giant grilles installed on the sides of the building from the ground to the roof

Outside air enters the grille through a series of large fans driven by a common belt 12 inches long and half an inch wide on each side of the building and driven by another belt.

The original ventilation is then achieved by a 150hp AC induction motor.

Very good, it managed to make every guest who came here want to go back the same way.

The secret that the Celtics have a much higher win rate at home than away is here, not the so-called "magic floor", "short or tall baskets that are not standard" and other stories that new fans will believe.

Celtics players can adapt to the environment at home, and guests are difficult to adapt, it is as simple as that.

Louie was the only TA to wear short sleeves and cropped pants, which made him look extra special.

At least in terms of clothing, he was not as serious as the others.

He swears he takes the game seriously, but he doesn't want to smother/heat his thoughts at home, too.

Today, Fitch sent the starters are Bird, Cowens, John Long, Maxwell, Archibald.

The Celtics' opponents, the 76ers, are Dr. J, Daryl Dawkins, Lionel Hollins (HollinsPG), CaldwellJonesC/PF, and Cheeks.

Before the start of the game, Fitch called the main force to his side: "Our inside line has obvious disadvantages. Don't fight them head-on in the penalty area. We must mobilize their big men and use our vitality to deal with them!"

Old-school coaches always like to talk about some conceptual things and rarely talk about detailed tactics.

If Louie comes, he will simply and rudely, tell Bird to go straight to the high post or shoot from beyond the arc to empty their restricted area and then attack.

But this approach was too radical for Fitch to agree to.

From the very beginning of the game, there was anger.

Although Dawkins won the jump ball, Maxwell predicted the direction of the ball, and he was about to attack the opponent's basket when he grabbed it.

Dr. J's athleticism was on display as he sprinted back to the penalty area, preferring to fall to the ground to cover Maxwell's ball.

In an instant, Lionel Hollins, known as the "L train", advanced with the ball and passed it to Cheeks.

The ex-Celtics player, who choked Boston, hit the spot and made a layup.

Bird's agility was revealed a few seconds later, he didn't serve seriously, but threw a long four-quarter pass from the backcourt with one hand that let Fitch blow his hair.

"What the **** are you doing?" Fitch yelled.

The accuracy of Bird's one-handed long pass from the backcourt made Louis open his mouth. The ball was actually delivered to Maxwell's palm accurately.

If it weren't for Caldwell Jones, who is 2.11 meters tall, to block the shot from behind, Bird's move would be called a magical pass.

"L-Train" Hollins did the pout used by guards in the 1970s.

At all times, aim your **** at your opponent to protect the ball.

The 76ers' positional warfare is all about momentum, and there is no fully reliable attacker.

"Stop pouting, you're ugly!" Louie stood up and shouted.

Hollins glared at him and passed the ball to Dr. J.

Dr. J misses a shot.

"Look, that's right, it's picturesque even if you don't make it—" In fact, it's not pretty at all, Louis exclaimed incessantly, "Who are you showing your big ass!"

Jack Madden, the golden whistle, warned Louis against his wrinkled face: "Keep your mouth shut~www.novelmt.com~Oriental!"

"Stop your discriminatory behavior, referee!" Louis refused to give in.

"Beep!"

Fitch was completely stunned.

What the **** is going on here? He didn't even call a few times, and his assistant was blown by the referee?

Madden thought that Louis was being honest now. Who knew that someone would be wicked and timid on the way to being blown T. "Blow me out if you have the guts, you racist!"

"Blow!" Louie yelled, "get me out of here, you ragged idiot!"

So the referee satisfied Louis.

Fans who didn't know what was going on on the field cheered Louis with unanimous boos.

And Louie is like a head coach loudly accusing Jack Madden of unfair law enforcement.

With such a big commotion, reporters will naturally ask him, and Louis bites back in front of the reporter: "Jack Madden is a racist!"

"He calls me racist! He calls me Oriental! I don't think any Asian in America can stand this offense!" Louie told the media like a vicious dog, "I'm going to accuse the league of him, and Will not accept his apology!"

As Johnny Most said: "No matter who wins or loses this game, this young assistant coach has made him known to the fans in a special way."

Only Bill Fitch couldn't figure it out even if he wanted to break his head. He stared at K.C. Jones and asked, "Has his temper always been this big?"

K.C is also puzzled: "It was the first time I saw him get angry!"

"Damn it!" Fitch was even more annoyed.
