Chapter 10: Misunderstanding

Fu Ze’s expression was indifferent, making it impossible to guess his thoughts.

“It’s your call.” His finger repeatedly rubbed Ning Xiang’s right ring finger. The wedding ring he had ordered had yet to arrive, so it was bare. “Even if they want it, the decision is yours.”

“Oh really?” Ning Xiang chuckled. “Then why did you swear that you only needed a year during the meal just now?”

“That time is intended for me.” He smiled, Ning Xiang’s figure reflected in his eyes. “It’s probably enough.”

Ning Xiang did not quite understand what he meant, but when she continued to ask, she could not get a positive response from Fu Ze, so she could only give up.

Meanwhile, at night.

Ning Xiang lay on the bed with her eyes open, unable to fall asleep.

She was still thinking about what Fu Ze had said during the day.

What did he mean? Was he going to spend a year trying to find true love? Or was it something else?

There had never been a woman by Fu Ze’s side. That night at the hotel was his first time. He had performed very well, but he had never made such a request ever since.

Did he suddenly become impotent? Was he going to spend some time treating his illness?

How could it be?

Ning Xiang got woken up by her own imagination. As she denied it, she could not help but think.

The more she thought about it, the more ridiculous she felt. Yet, it seemed to make the most sense.

Ning Xiang tossed and turned. Moments later, when the commotion was too big, Fu Ze grabbed her and held her firmly in his arms.

“Sleep.”

Ning Xiang said cautiously, “If you have any problems, we can face them together. I’ll definitely stand on your side. No matter what happens, I can take it.” She sighed again. “I know this is very important to men. I understand. Don’t be too anxious. There’s no hurry with the child.”

Fu Ze was also completely awake. The more he heard, the stranger it sounded. “What do you mean?”

Ning Xiang patted the back of his hand lovingly. “I understand. I’m sure you can get cured. If one year isn’t enough, just keep trying. I’m here for you.”

Fu Ze was silent for a while. “…Ning Xiang.”

“Yes?”

Suddenly, the world turned upside down, and the silk blanket covered the two of them.

Ning Xiang’s vision darkened completely as Fu Ze’s restrained and passionate kiss landed on her cheek and neck.

Ning Xiang froze.

Fu Ze’s low and hoarse voice sounded beside her ear.

“Doctor Ning, what do you think of me?”

Ning Xiang blushed in embarrassment. “Well, I misdiagnosed you. You’re quite healthy. Go back.”

Before confirming Fu Ze’s intentions, Ning Xiang could not have sex with him so easily.

What if she got pregnant and Fu Ze told her that he had met his true love and wanted to divorce her?

How could she let her child go without a father?

She did not have a healthy family, so she could not do the same to her child.

Ning Xiang pushed Fu Ze away in awkwardness coldly. She also straightened out his messy clothes.

Fu Ze’s expression was a little regretful. He calmed his breathing and stared at her. He did not move and let Ning Xiang straighten out his clothes. When she was almost done, he said, “Has the misunderstanding been resolved?”

Ning Xiang chuckled. “You have really made a huge sacrifice to resolve the misunderstanding.”

“Aren’t you compensating me?”

Ning Xiang looked up at him. “Tell me what you want.”

“We’ve already gotten our marriage certificate, but I’ve never heard you call me hubby.” Fu Ze curled his lips and smiled evilly. “Isn’t that a little unreasonable, Honey?”

Ning Xiang thought for a moment and her gaze lightly landed on him. She slowly glanced at his eyebrows, thin lips, collarbone, and body. After scanning them once, she looked into his eyes again with a faint smile and did not say anything.

Fu Ze’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he looked at her deeply.

“You did it on purpose.”

Ning Xiang retracted her gaze and played dumb in a good mood. “Maybe. Who knows.”

Fu Ze teased her in every possible way, but Ning Xiang was completely unmoved. Fu Ze could only hold his wife from outside the blanket and go to bed.

If he did not behave himself, his wife would sleep in another room.

Ning Xiang was 20 years old this year. She went to school early and skipped a grade. She was now studying for a master’s degree at Beijing University and would graduate in two years.

On this Friday, Ning Xiang’s classes were relatively relaxed. There was nothing much to do in the afternoon. She came out of school and decided to ask Liu Bai to hang out.

Coincidentally, just as she took out her phone, Liu Bai called.

“It’s an emergency, my dear!” The background sounded very noisy. Liu Bai hurriedly said, “I’m at the finals of the Nine Springs Mountain Racing Championship. Someone in my male god’s team received money from his opponent and pretended to be dead. If no one replaces him, he will lose!”

Ning Xiang immediately replied, “Give me fifteen minutes. I’ll be right there.”

Liu Bai hadn’t hung up yet and was saying something angrily. Ning Xiang heard the commotion and frowned. “What’s going on? Why is it so noisy?”

“Lu Liang, that son of a b*tch. He’s making a fuss about being late and not allowing us to compete. He wants us to admit defeat,” Liu Bai hurriedly explained. “My dear, you have to come quickly. I can’t hold it in anymore. I want to tear their mouths apart!”
