The Other Side of the Mask

A dark shade looms over my eyes, "Hey…XiaoLong…"

"Yeah?"

"You know I was the one who killed Sadie Shih, right?"

"Mhmm…"

"..."

He grabs my arm, "Don't you dare leave again. I know you did it, and you did it for the greater good. She was a pirate that killed many other people. There's nothing wrong with it."

I look at him, warily, as if saying 'Are you sure?'

He looks back with determination in his eyes and I relax a bit.

"Maybe I should just put you on a leash all the time so that you won't leave again~" he says thoughtfully.

"Oh, and what will you do when you take a bath, train, and run around at night and stuff?" I fire back, disliking the idea of a leash.

"Hey! I don't run around at night! I just sit on the roof and look at the stars! It's not like you don't do it! Besides, if I'm going to take a bath, then maybe you should take a bath…" he stops and his face turns red.

My face turns red, as I realize the next words, 'with me'.

"Shameless," I mutter under my breath.

"We're gonna get married anyways," he whispers under his breath.

We stay quiet until we reach the breakfast hall. It is as if we are all one big happy family and nothing is wrong.

I break the peace first, "Uh, so…" I quickly stand up and bow, "I'm sorry, everyone for being such a nuisance and causing so much trouble."

"It's fine, it's fine," mother says, as she gestures for me to sit down.

I slowly take my seat.

Queen Huang speaks, "I talked with you about it yesterday, so don't worry anymore, as long as you don't repeat your mistakes."

"Right…" I respond.

Suddenly, Queen Huang stutters a bit, "Um… you… see… I apologize for saying such bad things about you when I didn't understand your situation."

I look at her shocked. It's really rare for a Queen to apologize and I wasn't expecting it.

"It's fine," I say curtly, uncomfortable.

I changed the topic, "Oh, and by the way, what will happen to the kingdoms when XiaoLong and I get married."

All four adults simultaneously look at me as if the answer is right in my face, "The Kingdoms combine back to the Eclipse Kingdom, duh."

I look at them disappointedly, "What?!"

I facepalm. It's sad how unimportant they think of the history of the kingdoms.

"Oh, and TianYu, will you be alright…" I start, but stop once I see her clinging on KaiZhen and flirting with each other in my face.

She turns as I call her name, "Oh, of course, besides I already found a special someone~"

"R-right, ok then, it's pretty much settled," I finally replied, overwhelmed by all this new information.

He gives me a light kiss on my cheek. My face turns red as my parents make fun of me. What great parents, am I right?
