79 A favor from Ullr

John promised Ullr to meet with as Ullr wanted to ask for a favor.

He went to their usual tavern and saw Ullr already sitting on their table. The elven waitress quickly brought another Mug of beer and Ullr started speaking: " Hello my Friend, I'm sorry for asking for another favor but I've got no other choice. You see I have a brother that plays this game too, but recently he got in trouble with another player that likes to torture his victims with all sorts of despicable means. I wanted to punish this player. But be uses some kind of ambushes that focus on our feet to poison us. So I wanted to ask if you could make me some metal greaves to protect them?"

Ullr felt bad lying to his friend but he couldn't risk that Schmied said that he would join him to this hellhole of a dungeon.

John was fired up when he heard that Ullr was doing all this for his brother as John too had a brother that he cherished dearly, so much even that he rather lived in poverty and debt instead of asking his brother help, he should've lived a long and fulfilled life.

John put down the beer, paid their bill and grabbed Ullr and dragged him to the forge.

He told Ullr to make some leather boots out of the best material he had. As Ullr was quite skilled in leathercrafting he was finished quickly and handed over the final product to Schmied.

John grabbed them and used them as the core and started heating several pieces of metal. John only experimented with it before but now he felt was the right time to use it "Reality forging" the skill he got after his Hammer "Erinnerung" became his soul.

John tossed the first boot and a piece of white hit adamantite up in the air and started forging midair with a dark blue luster shining from his hammer.  With every strike, the metal seemed to flow around the boot like water.

When John was finished with the first boot he did the same with the second one, Ullr could only watch in awe as John was forging like a good. When both boots were finished, John put them in a bath of his metal softening potion while giving Ullr two mana cores and told him: "Use your blood and mana to bind them to you!" Ullr quickly grabbed them and did as he was said while John already grabbed another piece of metal. He started working on extra armor plating for the greaves and let these pieces look like rough pieces of bark from an old giant tree that is touching the sky year after year never dying, never falling and with unlimited patience. After every piece was finished he pulled out the Boots out of the potion and attached the armor pieces with quick and precise movements. After that, he grabbed the mana core which changed their colors to a light green like the color of a grassland after rain in spring pulsating with life and added one to each of the boots to finish them. When John added the crystals the metal started to change its color to a dark moss green.

Brother's Love

Rank Mythical

A pair of greaves made with the love only brothers could comprehend. As the core, the finest leather boots made out of the hide from the King of the forest were used. Onto these magnificent boots, a layer of adamantite was added by a magnificent craftsman with a technique that could only be used by those that have forging in their blood and soul. This second layer was bathed in a potion to makes it flexible and comfortable to wear when Mana is induced. Further armor plates in the style of an ancient tree were added and Mana crystals bound to the wearer provide the mana needed by the flexible metal layer.

Ullr was in awe when he inspected the greaves and said to Schmied: "Once again you completely crushed my expectations with a work of art that is better than I could ever have imagined it to be. I know it is rude to ask about the real-life but one day you have to tell me about your brother when your feelings for him enables you to craft something like this."

John answered in a low voice: "Yes...maybe one day... I will tell you about him."

...Scrappy was walking for several days now but it seemed like he was lost. He was now on some high mountains and it has been days since he last found some scrap and his core started aching every time he thought about the massive piles of scrap he left behind in the building of that weirdo. But he had to carry on as only scrap that was delivered back home was good scrap. But it started snowing and Scrappy knew that he had to find shelter or else his scrap might get dirtied by too much snow, so he looked around and found a big cave which he quickly entered.

And Scrappy couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a pile of golden scrap just lying around. He put down his bucket and quickly ran over when suddenly a growling sound shook the cave and a pillar of fire lashed through the air. Scrappy could just observe how his bucket was hit by white flames. Scrappy was devasted as soon as the pillar of fire stopped he ran back to his bucket, completely ignoring a dark red fire dragon, only to find all of its contents were molten into one mess. Scrappy's vision turned bright red and the dragon that was used to his unbeatable strength felt that something was wrong. A dark aura grew around Scrappy and painful howl echoing through the mountains was the only thing that could be heard on that day...
