“Damn, I got careless…” Idle quickly pulled himself up from the ground after that thought.

There were obvious signs of blood coming off of his mouth, yet he didn’t care. Casually wiping away the trickle of red, he then gently checked his ribs for fracture.

Thankfully there were no signs of his organs being punctured, but several of his ribs were definitely broken. In light of this dangerous situation, he didn’t panic and remained calm.

“Who are you?!”

Just when Idle wanted to move forward and give a formal lecture to this rude bastard, the dry husk of a thing suddenly spoke. Its voice was crackly and hoarse like its vocal cord had been damaged, but the words were definitely understandable.

“Why are you in my office?!”

Hearing this deafening roar, the young man stopped and looked at it with surprise: “You regained your sanity?”

“You’re not from our hospital… Who are you!” The dean was still angrily questioning the young man and took the initiative to get closer.

But slowly, something dawned on the dean’s collapsed face.

“I… am I dead?” The creature’s footstep paused for a moment after murmuring that as if he’s discovered the change to his own body. On top of the already dried bark of a face, more wrinkles appeared to show he’s struggling to take this in.

“Yes… I remember now… she came out… All of them are dead…” When the dean said this, his body suddenly started to tremble and the humanized expression grew into a terrifying horror of howling.

Fear, genuine fear of the highest order.

“Who came out?” Idle subconsciously asks. Without realizing it, he’s grown more concerned about this matter than the actual case at hand.

From the revealed information using this brief moment, Idle could roughly guess what caused the fire. It’s likely this “her” who started it.

But who was she?

“Patient Thirteen… she came out… no, no, no! I’m going to hide!” After having one of his arms devoured by Idle, the dean could only clasp onto his head with the remaining hand and run wildly around in the room until he found a dark corner to huddle.

By the time Idle managed to react and catch up, the dean was already gone, disappeared, poof out of existence.

For a ghost, it’s not a difficult thing to pass through walls or simply disappear from the spot. On top of that, this was a “field” created by the dean himself. As long as this one wanted to escape, Idle had no real means to stop it.

“At least make things clear before leaving….” He huffs in annoyance after seeing there were no one left in the room. Like the dean, the darkness also gradually faded as he waited on his body to recover.

“Idle! Are you okay! Can you hear me!”

Hearing the sound coming from behind, Idle frowns but did not turn around. Instead, he quietly hid his previously injured right hand into his pocket. Then touching his ribs to confirm they’re “moving” back in place, he estimated it won’t be long before the recovery completes itself.

“Idle, are you okay?!”

Fatty Ho had already run into the office by this point and stood next to his protector. His appearance looked like he’s prepared for a fight, scanning his flashlight left and right for any signs of hidden danger.

“I’m okay.” Idle chuckles slightly at the way his companion was reacting. “I met the dean just now, but it ran too fast so I couldn’t catch it. My apologies Uncle Ho.”
