The Moon Thief

Chapter 49: Poisoneater Potion

Master Kunes ordered a few attendants to prepare a nice room. He also gave Heinald a copy of Poisoneater Potion's formula. All he had to do in a few days was to memorize the formula of the potion, but it was a one-glance matter him. Of course they did not know this.

Poisoneater Potion made Ainsars fully immune to toxic gases in the north of the region within five hours. In fact, this potion was completely created by Master Kunes for toxic gases in that area. It was not known whether the elixir was resistant to other toxic gases.

Heinald decided to wait for two days before going to Master Kunes and announcing his readiness. He didn't want to go too early and raise doubts. Waiting for two days was the ideal time.

Two days later he went to Master Kunes' lab.

"Heinald! Have you memorized the Poisoneater Potion formula?"

"Yes sir." Heinald nodded.

"Nice! Then you'd better follow the process of making the potion." Master Kunes made a hand gesture for his approach.

Heinald carefully watched the making of the Poisoneater Potion. Master Kunes showed him all the tricks to be carefull for when making the potion. He particularly noted how much Spirit Flame Master Kunes used to eliminate the toxicity in the ingredients required for the potion. As a Potions Master, he knew that the Spirit Flame was one of the most important things in the process.

"Did I explain it well?" Master Kunes asked after brewing the potion.

"Yes, sir. I got it all." Heinald seriously nodded.

"I have to brew five more today, watch the others with full attention!" Kunes made a hand gesture, and after cleaning the various alchemy tools on the table, he went and prepared new ingredients for the potion.

Heinald also carefully watched the making of the other Poisoneater Potions that were brewed. In fact, this potions's making process was quite easy, but the Spirit Flame that had to be used on the materials had to be very sensitive.

Fortunately, by observing Master Kune, he was able to understand how many Spirit Flame he needed to use. He had learned this by experimenting with potions he had learned before, and even though he had the Moon Thief's eyes, it felt like torture to him. If he didn't have them he probably would have given up.

Master Kunes allowed him to experiment with the ingredients for the potion in the following days. He got used to how many Spirit Flame he had to use within two days, which surprised even Kunes, who knew he was capable. Heinald didn't want to hold back because he didn't want to waste too much time, and there was no point in hiding his talent.

Soon he started practicing the whole potion making process, and within a few days he was able to craft Poisoneater Potions with a small error rate. When Alvares found out about this, he was quite surprised and personally came and checked it. This was pretty big news for him because it meant that his clan would get Poisoneater Potion faster.

Heinald wanted to get as many Fire Emerald Herbs as he could. This potion would have had to go through a lot of experimentation while making it, so a lot of Fire Hemerald Herb was required.

He had to brewas many Poisoneater Potion as he could, so he would have collected enough Contribution Points as soon as possible. Moreover, with these Contribution Points, not only the Fire Emerald Herb but many other resources could be purchased. He did not know what resources the clan had, but was sure he could find useful resources, of course, after having enough Fire Emerald Herbs to look after them.

Days and months passed quickly.

Heinald had been in the Risclaw Clan about 4 month. He was brewing about 10 Poisoneater Potions every day. He was also counseling and helping Kunes on various issues, and even when Kunes spent more time with him, he realized that he knew more about plants than he did. Every day he became more and more admired by this young man who helped him.

Heinald had acquired a total of 120 Fire Emerald Herbs in the past months. He had extracted them through an easy process. He thought that he had obtained enough Fire Emerald Herb lately and that he could leave this area now. However, the other day he received a very important request.

Of course, his great success in potions and herbs was heard by the clan leader as well, who wanted him to join the Risclaw Clan and become an official member.

However, if he joined the clan, he would not be a regular member. He would become the official chief assistant to Master Kunes, which meant he was a top-ranking name within the clan. Moreover, he would receive a certain amount of Contribution Points each month and he would have access to high-level information.

Moreover, according to the clan leader, he would not be given mandatory obligations. All he had to do was join the clan, and he and Master Kunes had to do various researches and brew potions. He would be given the freedom to leave the clan any time he wanted.

All this appealed to him. Over time he had looked at other resources he could buy with Contribution Points. There were a lot of really useful resources. Moreover, the most important part of the proposal for him was that he would be given access to high-level information. Of course, this clan had a lot of different and important information about magic, and this information was only available to senior members.

Heinald, however, had a plan in mind, and after deciding that staying here for a little longer would not be a problem, he found it appropriate to accept the offer.

Heinald went to speak with the clan leader to say he accepted the invitation to join the clan. When he arrived at Alvares's door, he informed the guards who were on guard in front of the door that he wanted to speak to the clan leader.

One of the guards went inside and asked for permission and told Heinald that he could enter after he was granted.

"Sir ..." When Heinald entered, he came in front of Alvares' table and bowed his head to greet him.

"Welcome, my young friend." Alvares closed the book he was reading and started looking directly at the young man standing in front of him.

"I'm here to say I accept the invitation to join the clan, sir." Heinald smiled gracefully.

"Very well! This is really great news..." Alvares smiled.

Heinald signed a Blood Agreement to officially join the clan. The terms were as prescribed and there was not the slightest change.

He was now officially the Kunes' chief assistant and one of the clan's elites.

The clan would not give him mandatory tasks, but of course he would have responsibilities within the clan, all of which would be on the potions and herbs that were his domain.

"As I gain access to the second floor of the library, I will be able to gain some high-level information." Heinald smiled happily. There were three floors of the library in this clan, and each floor actually represented different levels.

There was intermediate information on the first floor, but the number of this information was much higher than on the other floors. Heinald naturally had the right to enter this section, and of course he would. He could not do this because he was not an official member before, but now he can. Moreover, now that he was in an elite position, he could spend as much time as he wanted on the first floor. Normal clan members could only spend 1 hour a week on the first floor of the library.

The second floor, on the other hand, contained information at a higher level than the information on the first floor, and only people with high positions in the clan could enter. He could only spend two hours a week on the second floor of the library, but that was not a problem for him. After all, he could memorize everything written in the books at a single glance.

Only Master Kunes and the clan leader could enter the third floor, but even Master Kunes could enter with the clan leader's permission. The third floor of the library contained the highest level of information the clan had.

Heinald's room was brought to his room as he was now an elite member, with a dark blue robe and a gold badge, representing the high rank in the clan, sort of adding prestige to the wearer. Heinald wore this robe over the gown given by his grandfather and put his badge on his collar.
