Breathing hard, Yu Yi cautiously looked at the Hound. The Star Color was trapped by magic and was effectively disabled for this battle. Without intelligence, the Star Color could neither escape the magic nor enter a Willpower resistance.

“Whew… Psst…”

The sounds of Tindalos came through his ear, sending shivers down his spine. Yu Yi was frozen on the spot. Tindalos charged directly at Yu Yi.

Instantly, Yu Yi escaped the restraints of the magic. Looking at Tindalos, which seemed infinitesimally close, Yu Yi prepared to dodge.

“This ends here! Mentis. Impulsum!”

Lizi’s voice rang out all of a sudden. The curse, conjured in Latin, formed a magic spell that launched itself towards Tindalos. Tindalos stopped in its tracks mid-air, as though it was trapped by something. Yu Yi seized his chance and swung his sword at the Hound’s head.

“Your magic took four rounds to prepare… isn’t that quite terrible?”

Yu Yi, who had received Lizi’s message long ago, took the time to slash at the Hound multiple times before quickly dodging to the side.

“I’m back for you, so be thankful, alright?”

Lizi glared at Yu Yi after hearing his complaint. Then she retrieved the book named King Huang Yi.

“Give me some time. I’ll look for a spell to repel it.”

“I think there’s no need for that.” Looking at Tindalos, who was weakened considerably by Yu Yi’s blows, Yu Yi said, “Today, we’ll have dog meat to celebrate.”

And then the mafia leader, whom they thought was their allies at the start, but became an enemy halfway through… seemed to be good friends with the Tindalos? Looking at the Tindalos, which looked almost pitiful by the man’s feet, Yu Yi thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.

Damn?! This can’t be right?! Didn’t their anthropology check pass the last time?! He had to be human! So you are a substitute too?! Sure enough, substitutes attracted each other!

The man took his walking stick from his henchmen. He stared at Yu Yi, Lizi, and the Star Color behind them.

“Not bad. I thought you all were here to die… but I didn’t expect you to defeat that thing! Are you really human?”

“I doubt you’re human… you seem to have a good relationship with the Tindalos.” Yu Yi took out his pistol, loaded it, and cocked it before aiming it at the man. However, Yu Yi’s opponent seemed not to care about Yu Yi’s actions.

“You mean the Hound? I guess I’m not on very good terms with it, but not too bad either… It’s the most important to summon my Lord, so I can’t allow you to just kill it like that.” The man reached out and patted the Tindalos before looking at Yu Yi. He continued, “I was wondering how to get rid of that thing… These foreigners are troublesome, even if they’re dead. But the problem solved itself, hasn’t it?”

The man’s body collapsed on the ground. He was pulverized by the 7.62 bullets. The Tindalos attacked Juzi, who promptly threw the rifle away and rolled towards the side. However, it seemed like he had failed to dodge, as a strange tentacle emerged out of nowhere and penetrated Juzi’s body.

“Ugh…Ahem…Oh no…Massive Failure…”

Juzi spat a mouthful of blood and stared at Yu Yi, clenching his jaw. Then, he crumpled onto the ground. He must have rolled a Massive Failure and was killed instantly.

The tentacles didn’t emerge from anywhere else, but from the mafia leader’s henchman, who was in a black suit.

Although it was invisible, Yu Yi could imagine the KP’s angry and exasperated expression.
