Sofia's eyes widened as she stared at Amaya.

"Do you mean the son of the chief justice of Nigeria?"

"Yes." Amaya nodded excitedly.

"Oh my God? are you serious? Adam Jerome doesn't talk to anyone. He hardly talks to any girl. Right from the day he stepped into this school he has always been more of the introvert. You know at first people thought he was just the normal stuck up rich mans son not until he paid for the treatment of that boy in year one. Remember that boy who got into an accident the one in year one?"

"Yea I remember." Amaya replied.

"He paid for his whole medical bills which was in millions. He even put him on a scholarship."

"I also heard that the boy isn't the only one who he has put on a scholarship just that he is not one to talk about the good thing he does.".

"I think he makes the people he puts on scholarship promise not to tell a soul. I heard that it was the mother of the boy who mistakenly thanked Adam in the presence of some of his classmates who then took it upon themselves to spread the word. So now everyone knows how amazing he is. " Sofia gushed holding her chest for dramatics.

"I know right! Amaya squeaked "Well I've always known he was amazing. Don't you remember that during his election for the post of The Chief Justice of the students union government I was his campaign manager for our class. He is also incredibly smart too, despite all his engagements as a name partner of a growing firm he still manages to keep up with his studies."

"His classmates are really impressed with this, you can't believe that he is on a first class even in fourth year. He is simply perfect."

"Well anytime we see each other before he usually just waves, smiles and walks away but you can't believe that he talked to me yesterday. He legit stopped to converse with us. We were arguing about feminism and he kind of? supported?Lora's view. " she narrated.

"Oh my God! Where was I? I can't believe I missed that." Sofia fake sobbed. "Tell me what was Lora's view?" Sofia asked already buried in the gist. They were talking like I wasn't there. I finally got my wish to be invisible, then why does it hurt so much.

Then I was scared. I didn't want to be dragged into their conversation but I knew that there was no way Amaya could narrate what happened without involving me.

So I sucked in my fear and listened. I have to admit it made my tommy flutter a lot when they said so many good things about Adam.

I was so close to smiling even.

"She was talking about being against feminism turned sexism and bla bla bla. You know Lora and her stupid views."

Ouch pain laughs.

He was back. Amaya always managed to summon pain.

"Well he did not only talk to us, he shook my hands, Sofia!he shook my hands and his hands were so soft." She blushed fanning herself with her hands. "He is perfect."

Sofia blushed hard.

"Wow, he supported Lora! oh my God! Lora girl, thumbs up. This might just be the beginning of a love story between you both." Sofia chuckled giving me a side hug.

I hit her head playfully but I still didn't say anything. My words were sometimes weapons that could be used against me and the last thing I wanted was another weapon asides Amaya.

Oh my Sofia is giving you false hopes girl and laughing at your inability to find love. Don't listen to her no love story is happening between you and Adam he is weigh out of your league. Pain said. You should listen more to Amateur you know.

Amaya wasn't happy about what Sofia said and it showed on her facial expressions which was mostly one of disdain.

The face is a guide to the mind, that I knew.

"Amaya!" Sofia exclaimed as her eyes widened in shock. I sat still, not moving, not thinking, a stature. A stature just like the one of The Lady Justicia we had in front of my faculty, but a more ugly statue.

A broken statue
