Happy New Year's Eve

Feeling quite sorry, Lu Xiaobei explained the reason for her unexpected internship in Shanghai. "I was recommended by a professor a good while ago, but I only sent him my resume because it wasn't good to brush aside his kindness. I thought I wouldn't it. But, unexpectedly, the department head had given a lecture at our school once and I had apparently left an impression on him. All I did was did was participate in an interview via video call and he told me to go report in in Shanghai."

The meat bun place wasn't far from their apartment, being only fifteen minutes away. Lu Xiaobei bought the beef and potato buns that were Xiaoya's favourite and headed back home, but as she walked she couldn't help but worry about who will go buy these for Xiaoya after she was gone.

Xiaoya: I'm pissed, but I have to keep smiling.

From the side, Xiaoya looked at Mo Yichen and Xiang Yi getting along with one another, and was thankful she listened to her captain's words to get herself involved in their relationship. Back in their freshman years, there was truly no shortage of frigidity between Mo Yichen and Xiang Yi. What's more, apart from Xiang Yi's mother letting Mo Yichen come hang out at their house, the two had rarely gone out on a date.

While Lu Xiaobei touched the watermelon drink in her hand with the ones in both Mo Yichen and Xiang Yi's before saying, "Congratulations."

But her attempt to cheer Xiaoya only earned her grumble, "I usually have classes and I have to go visit my parents on the weekends. Besides, this is such a rare opportunity for you, so I shouldn't go bothering you while you're working. I just wished you gave the heads up about this being a possibility earlier because it's seriously unexpected."

Besides, this is such a rare opportunity for you, so I shouldn't go bothering you while you're working. I just wished you gave the heads up about this being a possibility earlier because it's seriously unexpected."

Lu Xiaobei only listened to her, saying nothing as her hands cupped Xiaoya's face before drawing her into a kiss, attentively tracing her lips and teeth. Every time Lu Xiaobei took Xiaoya's lips with her own, Xiaoya always felt her head go light. Her kissing skills hadn't improved much up until now, but that awkward and clumsy skill of hers had tons of allure to Lu Xiaobei.

Lu Xiaobei: "Plus, Shanghai isn't far from Nancheng, so I can come back every weekend and you can come to Shanghai to hang out with me, too."

A heat that took most of the night to cool before tranquillity returned once more.

"Thank you." Mo Yichen expressed her gratitude then added, "Xiaoya, you've really grown up a lot."

In this world, they were just too ordinary, and if they had no way to change the rules, they could only adapt to them. The higher one could stand in society, the more power one can attain, the more you can be like a fish finding water, able to find an environment where you can thrive.

But hearing her, Mo Yichen asked, "You're that familiar with Shanghai?"

Shooting stars darted through the clouds on high, countless numbers of them pierced through those soft pillows with a splash. Stirred by the invading flashes of light, the clouds in perfect unison, tightly bound around them.

When Lu Xiaobei got back, she placed the tote bag of buns on the dining table. Lu Xiaobei usually used a tote bag to carry the buns when she bought them to stop them from quickly getting cold.

"Captain, aren't you done checking? Captain??"

Lu Xiaobei kissed Xiaoya. "I know. I'm sorry. Our Xiaoya is the most understanding person in the entire world."

While Xiaoya packed, she ordered Lu Xiaobei to go downstairs and buy some beef and potato buns, which was a speciality of their district. Since Lu Xiaobei was heading to Shanghai, it meant she would no longer have a chance of eating it.

Xiaoya hugged Lu Xiaobei, understanding the reasoning behind her lover's thoughts. Simply, it was not going to be easy for the two to be together, and causing her trouble was something Xiaoya could not bear.

Xiaoya let out a wow and almost sobbed, she then shouted, "Captain, I want to go back home! They're just showing off their love over here!"

This also meant that Greeting From cards originating from smaller countries were incredibly hard to collect. As for Afan, it didn't have a large population and possibly had no one there was signed up for the postcrossing service. So usually to get cards were only sent out from that place from other tourists travelling there by mail.

Xiang Yi then said to Xiaoya, "And Xiaoya, all you have to do is come and eat as much as you like. My mom made a reservation for ten tables at the Nancheng Grand Hotel and her most important business partners and our regular relatives will be coming. And the signature dishes at the hotel are really popular, too."

In this world, they were just too ordinary, and if they had no way to change the rules, they could only adapt to them. The higher one could stand in society, the more power one can attain, the more you can be like a fish finding water, able to find an environment where you can thrive.

At some point during the dinner, Xiang Yi took it upon herself to announce, "My mother has accepted Yichen as her god-daughter, and Yichen's mom and dad know about it. So, in the future, she'll be my little sister in front of outsiders."

Xiaoya let out a wow and almost sobbed, she then shouted, "Captain, I want to go back home! They're just showing off their love over here!"

But despite Xiaoya putting on this show of her supposed jealously, when she and the captain did return home it was around eight or nine in the night. The dinner party was fun for all of them, and even the sadness Xiaoya had felt because of Lu Xiaobei's departure was dispelled by the news of Xiang Yi and Mo Yichen's happiness.

iana: I have no idea what country Afan is supposed be.

All Lu Xiaobei could do was nod in agreement, thinking that if there were things she needed, she would just buy them once she got to Shanghai.

Shooting stars darted through the clouds on high, countless numbers of them pierced through those soft pillows with a splash. Stirred by the invading flashes of light, the clouds in perfect unison, tightly bound around them.

Every inch of the vast night sky was filled with a scorching heat.

But there was something that had made Xiaoya rather uncomfortable, and it was the fact that she never desired that much to begin with. All she wanted was to walk down the street hand in hand with her beloved under the bright blue sky. But even such a small wish was unable to be easily achieved, and being separated was something that had to faced time and time again.

Happy New Year's Eve

Mo Yichen's face tinted in a faint blush, as she continued, "If everything is decided, Godmother said I'll have to take another trip with Xiang Yi so we can go meet the rest of their relatives before we hold the ceremony."

Having no idea what Lu Xiaobei was thinking about, Xiaoya sucked in her breath and guiltily asked, "Hey, why are you reading my stuff?" Lu Xiaobei had never shown any interest in this little hobby of hers before, at least before this exact moment.

Xiaoya let out a wow and almost sobbed, she then shouted, "Captain, I want to go back home! They're just showing off their love over here!"

So, put simply, the matter of Lu Xiaobei's internship in Shanghai had been decided. Later, Xiaoya, Mo Yichen and Xiang Yi would get together to hold a farewell party for Lu Xiaobei at a Korean barbecue restaurant.

"You used to be anxious?" Mo Yichen's voice was faint.

iana: I have no idea what country Afan is supposed be.

On the day of the get-together, Lu Xiaobei looked at the eager to order faces of both Xiaoya and Xiang Yi and commented, "You two look more like you're here for a dinner party than to send me off."

With a menu in her hand, and without lifting her head, Xiaoya simply replied, "Hey, don't remind me about that."

Mo Yichen: "Xiang Yi and I actually plan and travelling during this summer vacation and will be back in late August."

Xiaoya let out a wow and almost sobbed, she then shouted, "Captain, I want to go back home! They're just showing off their love over here!"

Lu Xiaobei kissed Xiaoya. "I know. I'm sorry. Our Xiaoya is the most understanding person in the entire world."

Smiling as sweetly as she spoke, Xiang Yi then chimed in, "Shanghai and Nancheng are just about an hour by train. But if there's traffic in Nancheng it'll take a while to go to the suburbs, but it's really not that far."

When Lu Xiaobei got back, she placed the tote bag of buns on the dining table. Lu Xiaobei usually used a tote bag to carry the buns when she bought them to stop them from quickly getting cold.

Seeing Xiaoya attentively, but chaotically, folding her clothes, Lu Xiaobei had no choice but to accept her fate and head down to go buy the buns.

Xiaoya did everything she could to not admit Lu Xiaobei was moving to another province for her internship by pretending it was just an short trip, saying, "If there's anything you forgot, I'll send it to you or have it sent by delivery."

All Lu Xiaobei could do was nod in agreement, thinking that if there were things she needed, she would just buy them once she got to Shanghai.

But whether it was in front of Xiang Yi's mother, or both of their mutual friends, they still maintained their status as lovers.

But hearing her, Mo Yichen asked, "You're that familiar with Shanghai?"

Xiaoya: "Really? But I would much rather be like I was before, naive and completely ignorant. All this growth came at a cost. Every time Captain and I get separated I feel as though my psychological age increases by a few years."

Xiang Yi scooted closer to Mo Yichen. "I only went there for classes. I never wanted to go. After I got back, just thinking about my third year exams makes me anxious."

Lu Xiaobei kissed Xiaoya. "I know. I'm sorry. Our Xiaoya is the most understanding person in the entire world."

Mo Yichen glanced at Xiang Yi and nodded lightly. "Yeah. A lot happened between us in the past year. It turns out Xiang Yi appreciates me more than I imagined, and I can't let go of her either. So, I want to give us another shot."

From the side, Xiaoya looked at Mo Yichen and Xiang Yi getting along with one another, and was thankful she listened to her captain's words to get herself involved in their relationship. Xiang Yi scooted closer to Mo Yichen. "I only went there for classes. I never wanted to go. After I got back, just thinking about my third year exams makes me anxious."

"Of course, I was!" Xiang Yi whined.

Xiaoya: "Hold up... ceremony...?"

Xiaoya had recently started collecting "Greeting From" postcards, and they were a type of illustrated cards that had originated in Poland. All the Greeting from cards had a brief introduction to the country they were sent from on the back. So the person collecting them would ask that the card be sent from the same location as the country on it, and that the postmark and stamp on the reverse side should match the pattern on the back.

To which Lu Xiaobei pretended to not see this and asked, "If I'm going to spend five days somewhere, I'll also need to pack some clothes, don't you think?"

The four of them did get together a few times, and every time they did, it was Xiang Yi who took the initiative while Mo Yichen's attitude to her, though not wrong, it was still far too polite.

Lu Xiaobei then asked Xiang Yi about her and Mo Yichen's family, for instance, how Xiang Yi and her mother explained it all to Mo Yichen's parents.

Polite. There were times when Xiaoya would look at them and honestly think they had broken up.

Xiaoya: I'm pissed, but I have to keep smiling.

But whether it was in front of Xiang Yi's mother, or both of their mutual friends, they still maintained their status as lovers.

Still devoting all her focus to organising the clothes in front of her, Xiaoya never lifted her head as she replied, "Where are they from? Is there any from Afan? It's only been two months since I changed my address, but I still hadn't gotten them. They didn't get lost in the mail, right? Our postal service is really good."

Xiaoya: "Oh my god, I'm so jealous I hate you."

After Mo Yichen and Xiaoya began their second year, because they got together less frequently, Xiaoya heard even less news about Mo Yichen and Xiang Yi. But occasionally, when she and Mo Yichen chatted, Mo Yichen did occasionally mention Xiang Yi without prompting, so Xiaoya found out the ice between the two had broken.

Happy New Year's Eve

Xiaoya: "I hope so, too. Oh, are staying at Xiang Yi's house during the summer holidays?" Xiaoya had met Xiang Yi's mother once over the years, and she was a woman who seemed kind, confident, and easy-going. She and Mo Yichen also got along incredibly well, so well, that there are times when even Xiang Yi would kick up a fuss asking which of the two were really the biological mother-daughter pair. And for this, Xiaoya felt a bit envious.

Mo Yichen's face tinted in a faint blush, as she continued, "If everything is decided, Godmother said I'll have to take another trip with Xiang Yi so we can go meet the rest of their relatives before we hold the ceremony."

Xiang Yi the said to Lu Xiaobei "So... Captain, make sure to not be stingy, okay~"

Mo Yichen: "Don't worry, in the future, everything will keep getting better and better."

Xiang Yi: "A few days ago when when both of our families got together. My mom said we'll hold a formal banquetT/n: it sounds like they're holding a wedding banquet. after the term begins. People on the outside will see my mom taking her as my younger sister, but in reality, I'll be accepting our wedding money."

the author is doing a good job writing in code. she's being a good little worker. cheer with her. (paraphrased by your grumpy translator. FYI, the shooting stars into the clouds was our girls doing the deed once more:)

A heat that took most of the night to cool before tranquillity returned once more.

The signature drink in that Korean restaurant was watermelon soju, made by pouring soju into a watermelon and mixing. It was low in alcohol and it was a bit sweet, so all four girls had ordered it. After the waiter arrived to deliver there orders, all four had a halved watermelon cup they used to toast the news.

Lu Xiaobei, "Okay."

Lu Xiaobei kissed Xiaoya. "I know. I'm sorry. Our Xiaoya is the most understanding person in the entire world."

But occasionally, when she and Mo Yichen chatted, Mo Yichen did occasionally mention Xiang Yi without prompting, so Xiaoya found out the ice between the two had broken.

Xiaoya: "I'm worried about you may have let it all go on the surface but still mind it deep down, but if you've really forgiven her and put it all behind you, then I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!"

Xiaoya: "Oh my god, I'm so jealous I hate you."

"Thank you." Mo Yichen expressed her gratitude then added, "Xiaoya, you've really grown up a lot."

Xiaoya turned to look behind her, and saw Lu Xiaobei's gaze was stuck to a blue postcard while not an inch of her moved.

"Thank you." Mo Yichen expressed her gratitude then added, "Xiaoya, you've really grown up a lot."

In the night sky above, the stars glimmered, and on the earth below, Xiaoya wrapped her arms around Lu Xiaobei. "Captain, one day, I'll take you to go meet my mom's parents, my dad's, and all my other relatives. And when I do, I'll tell them all that you'll be the person I will be spending the rest of my life with."

Xiaoya then asked again, "What are you looking at?" The blue card was clearly not a Greeting From card, and just as Xiaoya was about to walk over, Lu Xiaobei placed the card down...

This also meant that Greeting From cards originating from smaller countries were incredibly hard to collect. As for Afan, it didn't have a large population and possibly had no one there was signed up for the postcrossing service. So usually to get cards were only sent out from that place from other tourists travelling there by mail.

But occasionally, when she and Mo Yichen chatted, Mo Yichen did occasionally mention Xiang Yi without prompting, so Xiaoya found out the ice between the two had broken.

Still holding the postcards in her hand she just brought up from the mailbox, Lu Xiaobei asked her, "I just picked up these postcards, where do you usually put them?"

Xiaoya: "Really? But I would much rather be like I was before, naive and completely ignorant. All this growth came at a cost. Every time Captain and I get separated I feel as though my psychological age increases by a few years."

With a menu in her hand, and without lifting her head, Xiaoya simply replied, "Hey, don't remind me about that."

In this world, they were just too ordinary, and if they had no way to change the rules, they could only adapt to them. The higher one could stand in society, the more power one can attain, the more you can be like a fish finding water, able to find an environment where you can thrive.

Xiaoya let out a wow and almost sobbed, she then shouted, "Captain, I want to go back home! They're just showing off their love over here!"

To which Lu Xiaobei pretended to not see this and asked, "If I'm going to spend five days somewhere, I'll also need to pack some clothes, don't you think?"

Xiaoya did everything she could to not admit Lu Xiaobei was moving to another province for her internship by pretending it was just an short trip, saying, "If there's anything you forgot, I'll send it to you or have it sent by delivery."

Mo Yichen: "Don't worry, in the future, everything will keep getting better and better."

Xiaoya did everything she could to not admit Lu Xiaobei was moving to another province for her internship by pretending it was just an short trip, saying, "If there's anything you forgot, I'll send it to you or have it sent by delivery."

Lu Xiaobei kissed Xiaoya. "I know. I'm sorry. Our Xiaoya is the most understanding person in the entire world."

While Lu Xiaobei questioned Xiang Yi, Xiaoya scooted closer to Mo Yichen and started chatting with her. "Yichen, did you really let everything go?"

Lu Xiaobei kissed Xiaoya. "I know. I'm sorry. Our Xiaoya is the most understanding person in the entire world."

All Lu Xiaobei could do was nod in agreement, thinking that if there were things she needed, she would just buy them once she got to Shanghai.

Xiaoya let out a wow and almost sobbed, she then shouted, "Captain, I want to go back home! They're just showing off their love over here!"

Lu Xiaobei: "Plus, Shanghai isn't far from Nancheng, so I can come back every weekend and you can come to Shanghai to hang out with me, too."

Xiaoya: "Hold up... ceremony...?"

Mo Yichen: "Xiang Yi and I actually plan and travelling during this summer vacation and will be back in late August."

Xiang Yi: "A few days ago when when both of our families got together. My mom said we'll hold a formal banquetT/n: it sounds like they're holding a wedding banquet. after the term begins. People on the outside will see my mom taking her as my younger sister, but in reality, I'll be accepting our wedding money."

iana: I have no idea what country Afan is supposed be.

Xiaoya kept on tirelessly folding another three stacks of clothes, while Lu Xiaobei had yet to say another word.

Xiaoya: "Oh my god, I'm so jealous I hate you."

Xiang Yi scooted closer to Mo Yichen. "I only went there for classes. I never wanted to go. After I got back, just thinking about my third year exams makes me anxious."

Mo Yichen's face tinted in a faint blush, as she continued, "If everything is decided, Godmother said I'll have to take another trip with Xiang Yi so we can go meet the rest of their relatives before we hold the ceremony."

The coming Monday was when Lu Xiaobei had to go to Shanghai to report in, but it wasn't until that Sunday afternoon that Xiaoya had reluctantly began helping Lu Xiaobei pack.

Xiaoya: "Hold up... ceremony...?"

Smiling as sweetly as she spoke, Xiang Yi then chimed in, "Shanghai and Nancheng are just about an hour by train. But if there's traffic in Nancheng it'll take a while to go to the suburbs, but it's really not that far."

At some point during the dinner, Xiang Yi took it upon herself to announce, "My mother has accepted Yichen as her god-daughter, and Yichen's mom and dad know about it. So, in the future, she'll be my little sister in front of outsiders."

Smiling as sweetly as she spoke, Xiang Yi then chimed in, "Shanghai and Nancheng are just about an hour by train. But if there's traffic in Nancheng it'll take a while to go to the suburbs, but it's really not that far."

Xiaoya soon took her melon cup to join them, congratulating the two before she asked, "When did it all happen?"

"Of course, I was!" Xiang Yi whined.

Xiaoya let out a wow and almost sobbed, she then shouted, "Captain, I want to go back home! They're just showing off their love over here!"

Xiaoya kept on tirelessly folding another three stacks of clothes, while Lu Xiaobei had yet to say another word.

A heat that took most of the night to cool before tranquillity returned once more.

"You used to be anxious?" Mo Yichen's voice was faint.

Mo Yichen glanced at Xiang Yi and nodded lightly. "Yeah. A lot happened between us in the past year. It turns out Xiang Yi appreciates me more than I imagined, and I can't let go of her either. So, I want to give us another shot."

When Lu Xiaobei got back, she placed the tote bag of buns on the dining table. Lu Xiaobei usually used a tote bag to carry the buns when she bought them to stop them from quickly getting cold.

So, put simply, the matter of Lu Xiaobei's internship in Shanghai had been decided. Later, Xiaoya, Mo Yichen and Xiang Yi would get together to hold a farewell party for Lu Xiaobei at a Korean barbecue restaurant.

The coming Monday was when Lu Xiaobei had to go to Shanghai to report in, but it wasn't until that Sunday afternoon that Xiaoya had reluctantly began helping Lu Xiaobei pack.

Still holding the postcards in her hand she just brought up from the mailbox, Lu Xiaobei asked her, "I just picked up these postcards, where do you usually put them?"

Polite. There were times when Xiaoya would look at them and honestly think they had broken up.

Mo Yichen glanced at Xiang Yi and nodded lightly. "Yeah. A lot happened between us in the past year. It turns out Xiang Yi appreciates me more than I imagined, and I can't let go of her either. So, I want to give us another shot."

Xiaoya: "Oh my god, I'm so jealous I hate you."

"Of course, I was!" Xiang Yi whined.

Xiaoya: I'm pissed, but I have to keep smiling.

the author is doing a good job writing in code. she's being a good little worker. cheer with her. (paraphrased by your grumpy translator. FYI, the shooting stars into the clouds was our girls doing the deed once more:)

Seeing Xiaoya attentively, but chaotically, folding her clothes, Lu Xiaobei had no choice but to accept her fate and head down to go buy the buns.

Xiaoya hugged Lu Xiaobei, understanding the reasoning behind her lover's thoughts. Simply, it was not going to be easy for the two to be together, and causing her trouble was something Xiaoya could not bear.

Mo Yichen: "Xiang Yi and I actually plan and travelling during this summer vacation and will be back in late August."

Xiang Yi scooted closer to Mo Yichen. "I only went there for classes. I never wanted to go. After I got back, just thinking about my third year exams makes me anxious."

Every inch of the vast night sky was filled with a scorching heat.

To which Lu Xiaobei pretended to not see this and asked, "If I'm going to spend five days somewhere, I'll also need to pack some clothes, don't you think?"

The meat bun place wasn't far from their apartment, being only fifteen minutes away. Lu Xiaobei bought the beef and potato buns that were Xiaoya's favourite and headed back home, but as she walked she couldn't help but worry about who will go buy these for Xiaoya after she was gone.

Xiaoya: "Yeah, so one suitcase should be more than enough."

"Wow!" Xiaoya screamed on shock.

All Lu Xiaobei could do was nod in agreement, thinking that if there were things she needed, she would just buy them once she got to Shanghai.

While Lu Xiaobei questioned Xiang Yi, Xiaoya scooted closer to Mo Yichen and started chatting with her. "Yichen, did you really let everything go?"

Xiaoya had recently started collecting "Greeting From" postcards, and they were a type of illustrated cards that had originated in Poland.

While Xiaoya packed, she ordered Lu Xiaobei to go downstairs and buy some beef and potato buns, which was a speciality of their district. Since Lu Xiaobei was heading to Shanghai, it meant she would no longer have a chance of eating it.

Having no idea what Lu Xiaobei was thinking about, Xiaoya sucked in her breath and guiltily asked, "Hey, why are you reading my stuff?" Lu Xiaobei had never shown any interest in this little hobby of hers before, at least before this exact moment.

Xiang Yi the said to Lu Xiaobei "So... Captain, make sure to not be stingy, okay~"

When Lu Xiaobei got back, she placed the tote bag of buns on the dining table. Lu Xiaobei usually used a tote bag to carry the buns when she bought them to stop them from quickly getting cold.

Xiaoya hugged Lu Xiaobei, understanding the reasoning behind her lover's thoughts. Simply, it was not going to be easy for the two to be together, and causing her trouble was something Xiaoya could not bear.

Xiaoya kept on tirelessly folding another three stacks of clothes, while Lu Xiaobei had yet to say another word.

"Captain, aren't you done checking? Captain??"

But whether it was in front of Xiang Yi's mother, or both of their mutual friends, they still maintained their status as lovers.

"Of course, I was!" Xiang Yi whined.

"Of course, I was!" Xiang Yi whined.

Xiaoya turned to look behind her, and saw Lu Xiaobei's gaze was stuck to a blue postcard while not an inch of her moved.

The four of them did get together a few times, and every time they did, it was Xiang Yi who took the initiative while Mo Yichen's attitude to her, though not wrong, it was still far too polite.

Xiaoya turned to look behind her, and saw Lu Xiaobei's gaze was stuck to a blue postcard while not an inch of her moved.

With a menu in her hand, and without lifting her head, Xiaoya simply replied, "Hey, don't remind me about that."
