Chapter 79: A Demonstration of Strength

Glade felt it. Just as the transport finished, he felt the contract binding him to Zeke finally activate once again. Yaeger designed the transport to be stealthy and discreet but, with Pier's meddling, the transport came much flashier. There is a tall pillar of light which indicated where the transport ended. Gallio wasted no time to order his troops, also sensing a familiar presence nearby.

"Kill whatever that brought."

Although surprised, Glade didn't show any visible sign of what he is experiencing. After all, the dominant feeling he has is thrill and excitement. He knows that the human will not come unprepared and, knows that although a bit boastful, Zeke has the skills and brains to back this up.

"What have you been up to you bastard." Glade thought to himself, feeling Zeke's presence in a dangerously closer area.

Meanwhile, Zeke has just finished brushing off the dust on his shoulders. He looked around him and noticed immediately that the transport separated him from the group. He actually felt this during the process, it was like another aura came in and messed up the whole process.

"This spells trouble." Zeke thought to himself as he is now aware of the fact that, higher beings are probably keeping a close check on him now.

"Where am I exactly?" He asked himself. Although the surroundings may have changed, his [Minimap] does not lie to him. He opened this and, on top is the indication of the area he is in.

[Capital of Elysium] were the words placed on it. More specifically, Zeke is in the heart of the capital. The same spot where Gallio beat Aeolus for the throne. A place easily accessible to the soldiers as there are multiple alleyways that lead to his area. However, this alone is not enough to make Zeke worry. What actually troubled him a bit is another detail.

"Damn, that's a lot. It's like I'm looking at a colony of ants." Zeke said, seeing the multitude of red dots surrounding him. These are hostile enemies of course, otherwise the [Minimap] will not brand them with that color.

Another thing Zeke noticed is how there are only a rare number of neutral colored dots. This meant two thigs. One is that the capital of Elysium is now heavily populated by armed forces. Two is that, the civilians left must have some kind of use for the upcoming war. Gallio, as Zeke understands, is a cunning creature hence, he will not waste space on those who are not needed for his goals.

Zeke saw the red dots closing in on him. As Zeke viewed them on the [Minimap], they moved in groups which meant that, they have been properly trained by Gallio in the art of fighting and war. However, there is still a fair amount of distance between him and the troops. This made Zeke excited, smiling unconsciously from the thrill of what is about to come.

As mentioned, Zeke already thought of the sequence of events that would follow. He thought of the battles that need to be faced and, what to do on various disadvantageous situations. Although this is a lot sooner thane expected, Zeke already has a preventive measure in mind for things such as his current predicament.

"Mana conversion." Zeke began, raising all his attribute points to a certain extent. He followed this up quickly by using [Medium Mana Potions] from the shop; restoring his mana points back to full.

"Conjure." He continued, raising the [Winged Monkeys] first. These are his fastest, nimblest, and most dynamic units as they can also fly through any obstacle present. Thus, Zeke prioritized getting them out over any other and, placed [Detonate] on each and every one of them.

10 layers of [Poison Cloud]. This is the number of he placed on each [Winged Monkey] he owns. This in itself is enough to decrease his mana by a considerable amount but, Zeke still ahs a lot left in order to set up the area where he is standing.

"Sorry but, if the system gives you a red color, then that automatically leaves me no choice but to kill you off." Zeke continued, sending the flying monkeys on every pathway found on the minimap and, as soon as they reached a group of enemies, he gave a single instruction.

"Detonate" Zeke said, releasing a mass of [Poison Cloud] on his enemies. He continued this process, making his [Conjures] fly all over the area. Once they finished, he made them come back to load [Umbral Slash] within them. Zeke can't place two different detonates on the same creatures and so, he needed to make them finish scattering the poison before coming back.

He wasted no time in following this up by conjuring the remaining number of his troops. Screams soon followed which left a smile on Zeke's face. Lately he's been enjoying fights more and more, especially the part where he mixes up strategies and still comes out wining the fights.

"That probably means that the poison is taking effect." Zeke said to the [Winged Monkey] he is currently preparing.

"Okay you guys can go now." He continued, finally finished preparing his [Conjures].

The platoon in charge of tanking the enemy, circled the whole area preventing anyone from getting any closer to Zeke. With Lupus leading, every creature in the platoon gains an added boost in defense. The whole group can take a lot of damage and, even if they can't, Zeke will simply summon all of them over and over again until the enemies have thinned out significantly.

Then again, he couldn't just rely on his [Poison Cloud] and his line of defense. That's why he sent out the [Winged Monkeys] once again.

"Detonate." Zeke said, releasing a barrage of [Umbral Slashes] on his enemies. With their formation breaking down bit by bit, Zeke now has more room for his offensive units. Thus, Zeke conjured Erio and the platoon in charge of attacking.

If Zeke didn't break their formation, fighting head on would be much more problematic. An option would be to keep using long ranged attacks but, this could bring more risks as he can't fire from all sides at once.

Hence, Zeke first decided to thin them down even more through physical attacks by his summons. He has no idea what kinds of enemies are beyond the [Poison Cloud]. All he knows is that, if they have no means to even reach him, then they aren't even worth analyzing.

"Kill every hostile you come across. Don't let anyone slip by the vanguards." Zeke commanded, letting his [Conjures] go on a rampage in the battlefield.

The commanding conjure, Erio, made the most contribution to this assault. It didn't matter which member of Gallio's troop Erio faced, he swung his sword with so much force that nothing they did against him worked. Some soldiers saw the resemblance of the Blood Elf Conjure to their former general but, that didn't matter in the battlefield.

They pressed forward, trying to defeat the creature before them. But all their attacks prove to be futile as, Erio would simply recover with every hit of his blade. Their horror increased even more as he posed into a stance, swinging his blade on the next second and releasing a wave of crimson that cut everything which stood in its way.

"What is that monster!" One of the soldiers screamed. He thought he already saw the strongest being on the planet by being in front of King Gallio but, he never experienced the fear of combat against creatures near Gallio's caliber.

And Erio, does not fall short on this list. His eyes gleamed a bright yellow through the clouds of poison that blocked the sight of his enemies and, at the next instant, the soldier who screamed saw the world turning upside down, his head falling from his neck and rolling on the ground. Erio didn't even wait to see if his attack is effective. He simply continued massacring everyone on his path.

Cull isn't any more forgiving. With his dual style of fighting of both melee and long range, nobody could adapt to his movements. Either they face the archer version or the swordsman version. No matter which it is, the bouts are too fast and they would have nothing but a pierced heart, a method which Cull found to be the most effective way to deal with his opponents.

Meanwhile, the [Turtle Hatchlings] all got placed with a [Detonate] on them. If any of the survivors came to their spot, Zeke would simply activate the skill, releasing a surprise of more poison to deal with. And even if they choose to fight the [Hatchlings], in the state they are in, they won't even leave any scratch on these creatures.

"I need to get as much attention on myself as possible." Zeke thought to himself. Since he is in the capital, there is a high probability for Gallio to show up. Zeke is ready for this of course. Although the transportation came as a surprise, he now has the field all prepared to give him as much advantage against the Blood Elf Monarch as possible. That's also the reason why he continued defeating the troops all at once. If no stronger enemy comes, then they could just wish all their troops goodbye.

"I sure hope he'd come soon. Unless he wants his men to all die in vain." Zeke said, finally taking out [Death's Symphony Mk. II] and, as he pulled the trigger, the amount of deaths cause by his weapon took him by surprise.

It must be remembered that before this incident occurred, Zeke only fought against immensely strong beings. Specifically, these creatures have a stronger defensive capability than normal. Hence, he is used to not generating enough damage to instantly kill off his enemies. But now, with creatures that fall bellow the [Earth Golems'] level of defenses, his bullets cleared out 50 - 60 red dots on the minimap. Showing him just how much carnage, each bullet could cause.

"I was worried for nothing." Zeke continued. As he did, something moved from underneath making Zeke leap away; just in time to see the ground open up. The minimap showed him larger dots of red, indicating that whoever or whatever came, it would be much stronger than what he is already facing.

He didn't waste any time for chatter and immediately fired two more bullets against the enemy. However, there was no blast created which gave Zeke a bad feeling about the kind of opponent he'd be facing.

"As I thought, your weapon uses lightning doesn't it lassie?"

Zeke didn't respond. He used [Shadow Dive] and appeared to a [Winged Monkey] he stationed floating high up in the air. Zeke then commanded Lupus to fight whoever the new arrival is. This gave him enough time to change the element of his bullet.

"You think petty tricks like this is enough to stop me?" The enemy said, destroying Lupus after a few seconds. But this didn't matter as Zeke simply continued re-conjuring the creature.

Meanwhile, he charged [Death's Symphony Mk.II] using [Umbral Slash]. Everything was too late when his opponent noticed him again. Zeke fired the pistols, releasing beams of darkness toward the enemy. During this interval, all defensive troops have already closed in on the foe, giving him no option for escape.

"You went inside my area with no idea what I'm capable of." Zeke said, finally dropping to the ground as soon as his attack finished. The enemy is still there but, is now unable to move. Flesh is burnt all over and, Zeke could see some bones sticking out.

"In your next life, remember to prepare before you attack." Zeke fired his pistol point blank, killing Zabi, one of Gallio's Generals.
