The Elemental Tower

Chapter 4:The Elemental Tower

Lin Ke took a deep breath as he realized how serious the situation was.

If the Leveling System was really broken, what should he do then?

As he frowned and was deep in his thoughts, Dra walked out of the forest. She dragged the Legendary Grade Red Lotus Longsword, which was as long as a human, leaving behind a huge gap. Anyone would be shocked when they saw it.

Lin Ke was extremely shocked as well. What looked like a normal longsword was able to produce such destruction. He finally realized that it was a mistake to think that the Hero obtained from the Starter Pack was the main prize. The real main prize was this incredibly overpowered longsword.

"My master, any immediate danger within the vicinity has been eliminated" Dra knelt on the floor, presenting the Red Lotus Longsword with both of her hands. "This is your weapon, I shall return it to you."

"It's fine." Lin Ke shook his head as he pushed her hands away. "This weapon is able to unleash its full potential in your hand. It's better for you to use it."

"Thank you, my honorable master." Dra planted the Red Lotus Longsword into the ground beside her before standing back up and looked at her surroundings. "My master, we're safe now. You can start building our Fortress."

"Alright."

Then Lin Ke pouted. He needed to build a Fortress?

How was he going to build it?

He looked at the wood and stones beside him. These were the materials to build it but what was he supposed to do with them?

Just as he was thinking, a faint window suddenly appeared right in front of him, just underneath the wood and stones. There were many options to build a Fortress.

Lin Ke glanced through it and saw that Fortresses were divided into two categories.

They were Resource Fortresses and Combat Fortresses.

There were detailed descriptions of these options.

A Combat Fortress was able to grant a great deal of strength to the players and increase their Attributes considerably. Players were even able to summon powerful soldiers.

Naturally, in order to obtain these benefits, a Combat Fortress would eat up resources at a frightening rate. Furthermore, he would have to choose one of these options if he were to go with the Combat Fortress. The options were "Castle", "Devil City", "Celestial Temple", "Marsh Midlands", and "Bloodbath Arena". Once he had decided the type of Fortress, he would need to gather specific resources to feed his soldiers.

For example, "Castle" required Food, "Devil City" required Devil Realm's Egg, and the "Celestial Temple" required Holy Light Stone. If the players were not rich enough, they really could not afford to play this game.

Then, there was the Resource Fortresses. Although a Resource Fortress did not provide many Attributes to the players and its combat prowess was very low, players would be able to provide themselves with enough resources. The majority of materials needed to build a Fortress could be collected slowly over time.

The most important point to take away was that Resource Fortress was able to provide a small amount of EXP Points to the players.

Although it was not much, it was able to reduce the gap between him and those wealthy cash players.

This was one of the guide's main points and the recommended Resource Fortress was called the "Elemental Tower."

Although the Elemental Tower was not the best Resource Fortress, its unique characteristics were what the players needed the most.

Firstly, this Fortress was most suitable for VIP0 players, minor cash players, and players that did not have much time to play.

The Elemental Tower was the most worry-free Fortress as players did not need to consider much. All they needed to do was to take out a portion of accumulated materials on a daily basis and this would keep leveling up the Elemental Tower. Furthermore, the Elemental Tower would increase its production rate as well. It would certainly be beneficial in the late game if he were able to produce special materials.

There was one thing that swayed Lin Ke's heart. The Elemental Tower was the Fortress that would provide the most EXP Points per day.

This was the light at the end of the tunnel for Lin Ke. With this, he would be able to level up, assuming that the system was not broken.

Hence, Lin Ke chose the Elemental Tower as his first construction.

"The Elemental Tower is being constructed... The time required is 1 hour."

Hence, a timer starting from 59:59 appeared at the corner of his sight. Its value was slowly reducing.

"Huh? One hour? Guess it takes quite some time." Lin Ke was startled as, based on his experience in other games, a level one construction would usually be done in a matter of seconds.

However, he sort of understood why when he saw the wood and stones in front of him started building up via a mysterious force. It was probably due to this.

It was quite a big pile of wood and stones. Using up all of it would be just enough for a small house. Hence, Lin Ke did not believe that it was enough to build the Elemental Tower.

Even if it was the lowest level of the Elemental Tower.

"I'm just going to sit down and take a rest since this Fortress needs a full hour to finish building." Lin Ke looked at Dra standing beside him and patted the ground beside him. "Come and sit here."

"Yes, my honorable master." Dra nodded respectfully as she crossed her legs and sat beside Lin Ke. She did not sit too close to him and was roughly two fists apart.

However, this was still considered too close for Lin Ke. He could clearly hear Dra's breathing beside him and a hint of nice aroma floated about near his nose.

Lin Ke felt his blood pumping and he talked to Dra, attempting to divert his attention. "How much do you know about the Fortress?"

He believed that since Dra wanted him to build the Fortress as quickly as possible, it was a sign that she knew more about the Fortress than he did. However, Dra revealed a helpless expression when she was questioned. "I'm sorry my honorable master. I know nothing about the Fortress. The only thing I know is that it will provide us a safe harbor."

"Is that so?" Lin Ke did not believe her. However, he understood what was happening when he saw Dra's innocent gaze. This woman really had no knowledge of it.

"Whatever. Since it only takes an hour. I'll decide what to do then."

Lin Ke looked at the Elemental Tower that was in construction and prayed secretly in his mind. 'Since I can't level up by killing monsters, I really hope the EXP Points given by the building aren't broken as well.'

His last hope would be flushed down the drain if that was the case.

It was agonizing as he waited, especially since this would determine if he would be able to live in this world safely in the future. Lin Ke was in extreme anxiety every single second.

Hence, Lin Ke wanted to do something else so that he could forget about the time.

He landed his attention onto the Red Lotus Longsword in Dra's hand and looked at it curiously.

Dra placed the Red Lotus Longsword on her lap as she caressed it gently. It looked much smaller and was only half the size of a normal man.

However, the sword was as long as a man when Dra used it to remove the surrounding threats.

Lin Ke wanted to look at the weapon's Attributes.

However, he did not have to take it from Dra. All he needed to do was to open Dra's Character Attributes Interface and looked at the longsword in her hand to obtain its Attributes.

"Red Lotus Longsword."

"Grade: Legendary."

"Upgrade Level: 20"

"Enhanced Level: 0"

"Star: One Star"

"Damage: &%¥&%&"

The weapon's damage was messed up as well. It was then that Lin Ke felt the malice of this world.
