The Elemental Tower

Chapter 13:Shortcomings And Compensations

Lin Ke did not expect that he would feel such agony while going through a level up.

He did not know if this would happen again or would just be a one-time event.

However, his body felt so good when he moved it that no word could describe the feeling. It was as if his body had undergone a huge change.

Lin Ke suppressed his cry when he woke up in shock. Yet, it attracted the few female Heroes that were on high alert.

His body was already in pristine condition before the transmigration, but he felt even better as strength was surging into his body.

Naturally, this so-called strength was merely an illusion as his original body was merely clearing up the imbalance in it.

What was certain was that he was much stronger than his past self.

The Attributes probably would not have increased much as he raised his Level from 1 to 2 since Lin Ke did not feel much difference in his body before and after his transmigration.

The only explanation was that Lin Ke's body was still as it was before he leveled up. However, when he reached Level 2 and his Attributes increased, this caused his body to enhance to what a Level 2 body should be.

Hence, this sensation was the most intense at this stage. The intensity would lessen along with the side effects when he reached Level 3.

All he needed was 240 EXP Points to reach Level 3. There was a small difference in leveling up when compared to Level 1 to 2. In other words, Lin Ke did not have to do anything and he would reach Level 3 the next day.

Whether his theory was correct would soon be proven when the time arrived.

"I'm fine." Lin Ke looked at the group of female Heroes that were staring at him anxiously. He smiled. "It's fine, I only felt some discomfort when my body was enhanced."

Lin Ke comforted the female Heroes and felt that it was time for him to do some stuff.

As he was left with a few Silvers on him after trying to level up his Elemental Tower to Level 2 before he slept, he had no choice but to delay his second construction.

Now that he had woken up, he looked at his own Inventory to see that 8000 Silvers had been deposited to him from the Dormitory since there were more than 24 points. In addition to the leftover money that he had, he had enough money to build the Refinery Hall and Smithing Hall.

Lin Ke brought Dra and the others out of the Dormitory. He went straight to the empty field where the construction had yet to begin and chose to build the Smithing Hall without any hesitation.

The Smithing Hall could provide Equipment for Players and Heroes. At the same time, it could also provide Military Equipment for the Elemental Soldiers as well.

Upgrading the Equipment was very important to increase his combat capability. The difference between having Equipment and not having Equipment was as clear as day.

By combining Lin Ke and the girls' Attributes, they were only equivalent to Dra with her Legendary Grade Longsword's Attributes. This meant that they were essentially naked. In gaming terms, it meant that they did not have any Equipment on them.

Although Avina seemed to have her own Equipment, the Equipment forged directly from the Smithing Hall was able to increase the wearer's Attributes. Even if they did not utilize the equipment, it would boost their strength greatly by just wearing it.

Avina, Dra, and the rest were already incredibly strong. Now that they were enhanced by the Equipment, Lin Ke believed that this strength would bring them to a whole new level.

Furthermore, he would definitely make himself a set of Equipment for self-protection, otherwise, there would be no way he could defeat a Werewolf.

Despite this, it was not something embarrassing at all.

After all, he was merely a white-collar commoner who rarely exercised and would only commute between his company and home. It was slightly overboard to say that he was completely useless. Although his Attributes were higher than those Werewolves which had been hunting in the forest all these years, his combat sense and capabilities were far inferior to theirs.

He was the Lord of a Fortress and his objective was simple. All he needed to do was to keep strengthening himself and increase his survivability so that he could ensure his own safety before his Heroes arrived.

All the problems could be handed to his female Heroes to settle. If they were unable to solve the problem, it would be the same for Lin Ke no matter how hard he tried.

All Lin Ke needed to do was to Level up the Elemental Tower and the remaining buildings, and upgrade himself, and the female Heroes. This was his role and everything would be fine as long as he achieved it.

Lin Ke planned to go back to take a nap despite him feeling like he had greatly recovered.

"It seems like I can sleep soundly if I sleep in the Dormitory." Lin Ke took note of this as it would be impossible for him to recover this much by just sleeping for two to three hours. He could only achieve it by sleeping very soundly.

He opened up the female Heroes' Attribute Interface while he was on his way back and was rather disappointed as they all were still Level 1.

"Looks like they can't level up by just killing monsters and they won't level up along with me as well."

Lin Ke sighed. It seemed like the only way for them to raise their level and EXP Points were the EXP Scrolls.

EXP Scrolls were one of the items Lin Ke saw at the Market. He had some hope that heroes would level up along with the Players, and EXP Scrolls were merely tools used to help the Heroes that would be summoned later on.

It was obvious that a pay-to-win game would always be a pay-to-win game. The Heroes could only be leveled up through EXP Scrolls.

However, the games were not that greedy. They would not force Players to use the Gold Grade EXP Scrolls worth 50 Diamonds to level up the Heroes.

One Gold Grade EXP Scroll could provide ten thousand EXP Points to the Heroes!

Hence, the game's Main Quest would definitely give Players a number of EXP Scrolls. Furthermore, many EXP Scrolls would appear in future events and Players would not bother spending the Diamonds at all.

It was fine if it was just a game but Lin Ke was in a very depressing situation. He had no Main Quest to do and who knew if there would be any future events at all.

The only thing that could comfort him was that he had raised his level and the great number of buildings meant that he would be getting EXP on a daily basis. He would keep leveling up even if he stayed at home.
