The Day of the Draw at Hogwarts

Chapter 466 Hagrid and Buckbeak

The school recruitment meeting is proceeding in an orderly manner. The little wizards walked into the cubicle, submitted their resumes, and after some discussions with the interviewers from the Ministry of Magic, they either walked out of the cubicle with a sad face or happily went to the next target.

Most of them had made preparations in advance. They had dog-eared the positions they were interested in in the brochures issued by the school. Some of them were thoughtful and planned their routes in advance.

After the matter with Bones was settled, Tom suddenly became idle. He wandered aimlessly in the venue, planning to wait until lunch time to eat.

Halfway through the walk, Tom saw Rich, the captain of the college team, sitting on the edge of the stands with a comfortable look on his face, holding a drink in his hand. He looked out of place in this lively venue.

"Yodele!" He saw Tom and greeted him warmly. He seemed to be in a good mood.

"I didn't expect you to come here to see the school recruitment at such a young age. How was it? Did you gain anything?" Richie motioned Tom to sit down next to him and started chatting with Tom.

"Certificates in Charms and Potions are very important. I think most positions require certificates in these two subjects." Tom told what he had just learned from his wandering around.

"It's true. We are wizards. How can we not use magic spells?"

"Captain, have you finished your interview today?" Looking at Richie's expression, Tom felt that Richie's interview must have gone well.

"Yeah," Richie looked very happy, "I found a pretty good job in the Department of Magical Sports and Sports. Now we're almost done, we're just waiting for the exam."

"Congratulations. But don't you have any plans to join the Quidditch team after graduation?"

Richie shook his head and said nothing. He is not like Gryffindor Wood, who is extremely obsessed with Quidditch. He had estimated his level and felt that he would be lucky to be able to play as a substitute for a second-rate team after graduation. He had no future at all, so it was better to go directly to work in the Ministry of Magic.

"You take your time and take your time, I'll go back to the lounge and take a nap first." After Richie finished the drink in his hand, the excitement of just finishing the interview had faded, and tiredness came over him. Every pore in his body seemed to be asking for a vacation.

So he said hello to Tom and left.

It was still early for lunch time, Hermione didn't know where she had gone, and Tom fell into a state of doing nothing. He was bored and flipping through the pamphlet Rich left for him, and a recruitment news caught his attention.

[A subordinate unit of the Auror Office, the Azkaban Liaison Office was officially established!

Job requirements: "Good" or above in Charms, Potions, and Transfiguration. Must be able to use the Patronus Charm.

Join us and become a hero who keeps the magical world safe! 】

Tom raised his eyebrows. He was unlucky to join this department. Now this liaison office hangs under the Auror office. It seems like a very good place to go, but it will soon be transferred to the less popular Department for the Management and Control of Magical Creatures. As the boss of the department, I will be absent from work for a long time...

Even I feel that there will be no future for this department in two years. I can only say that the future is promising. But when I start to expand vigorously, everything may be different.

The slogan "The twenty-first century is the century of the Azkaban Liaison Office" seems to be a good one.

When lunch time came, many interviewers stopped what they were doing, took out their lunch boxes, and started enjoying their lunch. Overtime interview during lunch hour? over thinking! Moreover, from the meeting at nine o'clock in the morning to now, basically all the vacant positions have been filled, and the students who came have gained more or less, so the highlight of the school recruitment has passed. The students were leaving the venue, and the venue was visibly deserted.

Hermione appeared out of nowhere.

"I've finished my work over there, how do you feel?"

Hermione lost all her previous shyness, and she happily told Tom about her morning's experience.

"I have talked with her, and she thinks I have great potential and can work in the Ministry of Magic in the future... I have also thought clearly about it and will no longer sign up for the Muggle Studies course next school year..."

After a year of study, Hermione felt that the Muggle Studies course could no longer help her and would have little impact on her future employment. She walked around the venue and asked for a certificate for this course. There are no more than ten positions. If you fail to take this course, it will have almost no impact on your employment.

After chattering for a while, Hermione's stomach suddenly growled, which made her blink a little embarrassedly. I came in a hurry in the morning and didn't even eat breakfast. I had to "contact" with the interviewers in the morning, which was a bit exhausting. By now Hermione's stomach was empty.

"It seems it's lunch time," Hermione forced herself to be calm and invited Tom to have lunch with her.

When we returned to the castle, the auditorium was already full of little wizards.

As soon as Tom sat down and served himself a plate of barbecue, an owl landed in front of his table and pecked his wrist with its beak, asking him to turn his attention to himself.

"Oh? Thank you..." After Tom took the envelope from the owl, the owl took a big chicken drumstick and flew away.

Tom tore open the envelope. There was a note inside, which said:

[Dear Tom and Hermione:

Would you like to have tea with me around six o'clock this afternoon? Harry and Ron will be coming too.

Have fun, Hagrid]

"It should be about Buckbeak," Tom speculated.

So, after waking up in the afternoon, Tom and Hermione left Ravenclaw Tower and came outside Hagrid's hut.

Tom knocked on the door, and there was a noise from behind the door, which seemed to be a mixture of eagles, dogs barking, and human voices.

The door opened, and Hagrid's unshaven face was revealed. At the same time, Yaya's huge dog head emerged. It seemed to be eager to run out, but Hagrid caught him back.

After entering Hagrid's hut, Tom saw Buckbeak lying on Hagrid's bed. The huge wings are folded at the sides of the body, and the claws are tucked under the body. It was feasting on a dead ferret on a plate in front of it.

Harry and Ron had arrived and were sitting at the dining table, with a huge teacup in front of them and a plate of bread in the middle of the table.

"How are you preparing for the Buckbeak and Dangerous Animals Committee case?" Tom asked after sitting down. "Are the books you borrowed earlier helpful?"

Harry and Ron on the side twisted uncomfortably. The two of them had completely forgotten Buckbeak's case, and the Firebolt absorbed all their energy.

"I just received a letter from the Ministry of Magic. The case has been brought forward." Hagrid rubbed his hands uneasily.

My roommate bought a big bag of soy products (tofu, bean skin, etc.) for 60 yuan. Although it was still about 100% higher than before, it still looked so simple and unpretentious among a bunch of high-priced group purchases. I was so greedy. .

Hopefully those takeaways will still be there when this is over.
