"I will accompany you to your courtyard. " Fu Yanqing offered as he held his hand out to her for the third time that day.

There didn't seem to be anything wrong with his offer so Zhao Yan gladly agreed and accepted his hand. They walked quietly to her courtyard through the winding pathways and garden.

The warm rays of sunlight illuminated the path and surrounding area, giving the atmosphere a warm feeling.

Fu Yanqing's mansion was really big and spacious. The only reason why Zhao Yan hadn't gotten lost before was that she has a lot of servants to wait on her and there was Jae Ha who knows the structure and paths of Prince Jing's mansion.

With her always leading the way, Zhao Yan has not gotten lost. Chun Lan was still getting used to this place and adjusting to her new duties. Like Zhao Yan, Chun Lan was also just starting to get used to the mazelike place that was Prince Jing's mansion.

Zhao Yan walked in silence with Fu Yanqing. She looked down at their intertwined hands and fingers as if it was natural then her gaze wandered over to the man who was going to be her husband and was the father of her child.

"Your Highness, you really treat me well." She said aloud. She wasn't joking or trying to curry favor when she said that but because her words were really true.

Fu Yanqing has given her the best treatment in the mansion and the second-largest courtyard. The main courtyard which belonged to him was obviously the largest because he was the owner but he still gave Zhao Yan the best accommodation.

Fu Yanqing's aloof expression softened slightly at her words. He hummed in acknowledgment.

"You will soon be my princess consort and wife. Only the best can be given to you. Remember that this prince has made a promise to take care of you. This prince will not go back on his words." He explained simply.

He said that because he still remembered the fact that she would divorce him if he ever mistreated her or if she ever felt mistreated.

He would not let that happen so Fu Yanqing made sure that his little woman got the best accommodation and treatment. He would go crazy if she even utters the word divorce again when they have yet to get married.

This was simply telling him that she would not accept him which was the worst-case scenario that he did not want to happen.

There was only this day left before they get married. Everything was already prepared. From the food to the venue, to the betrothal gifts and wedding dress to the invitation cards and the number of shadow guards guarding, to make sure that nothing wrong happens.

Although there was only one day left, he would not feel at ease in mind until they finally get married and declare her as his one and only wife.

Fu Yanqing never expected to marry nor did he really expect that there would be a woman he would want to marry. He was already twenty-five this year and despite being at the age where he should have been married and had a few children already, it did not bother him one bit.

He was a very busy man who had a lot of things in mind. Where would he find the time to find a woman for him? He did not like any of the women in the capital nor was he very excited to bind himself to someone when there were more important things that needed his full attention such as preventing the country from collapsing.

Even if he was forty and wrinkly, he could find a woman who would willingly marry him due to his status and wealth which was why he had stalled as long as possible.

But it was different now that he found the perfect woman for him. A kind and tender-hearted little woman who did not see him as a stepping stone but as a person that was human just like her.

Everything about her soothed him from the inside out. Her voice alone was akin to soft music floating in the air. No matter how low or loud she spoke, this sweet and unique sounding voice of her was similar to a fairy's. It also helped that her simplistic beauty was akin to an immortal fairy that descended from the heavens.

She had an innocent and carefree aura around her that was begging people to pamper her, no matter how old or young, no matter if they were male or female.

Until now, he could not understand why she was an unfavored daughter in her family. Fu Yanqing thought highly of his little woman because she did not flaunt her skills and was very honest.

She was obviously knowledgeable and talented despite her innocent nature yet she was an unfavored daughter.

She knows medicine, could read and write, and her calligraphy skills were equally great.

He wondered what kind of medicine or bad air Prince Li's mansion had ingested for them to overlook this little treasure.

Well, since they were not keen on cherishing her, Fu Yanqing would be the one to do it.

He was not short on anything especially money. He could provide for his little woman and he would ensure that she lives a happy and comfortable life along with their child.

And if she wanted to, they could have more children to pamper and raise. He was not opposed to having a huge family since he had always been alone most of his life. With a spoiled younger sister and a traitorous younger brother, the life he lived as the eldest child was burdensome and lonely.

If it was possible, he wanted to have more than one child with his little woman so that their child would never feel alone and would grow up with many siblings to spend time with.

He did not want their future children to experience what he went through so he would make sure to raise them well. Of course, Fu Yanqing wasn't worried since, with his little woman's character, no child of them would grow up into an unfilial child with low morals.

They would no doubt be raised with a good upbringing and grow up into fine people.
