The Croesus' Bride [Completed]

Chapter 5: The Dancer

Nicolas Garcia's POV

I was surprised to see that many people came despite the rumor that was spreading around Lisa. Well, don't get me wrong, I would support Lisa even she went to jail.

We were at the special VIP seat as I was one of her most sacred person to be at every performance that she had around Europe. Maybe that's why she loved it so much, to see more of me.

"Cousin, you came!" Lisa approached me when I smiled at her. She hugged me and I hugged her back.

"oh, this is wonderful! How're my parents?" She asked me. She was on tour right now and cannot come home very often like she wanted to.

"Well, they are well and kind of hoping that I would record your performance," I said as I showed her my new camera that Luis got it for me. Of course, he would be the one that operating it as I just watched her sing.

"Oh, that's wonderful. Here, the show will be starting in 5 minutes. I see you later, cousin," she said as she kissed both of my cheeks. I was an only child so having Lisa when I grew up was kind of like having a sister.

"Sir, it's time," Luis said as I handed the camera back to him. I nodded before I went to take my seat at the front of the show. It was glamorous, to say the least about the stage but it was perfect for Lisa.

"and now, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Lisa Gonzales!" The announcer said before the fans were kicking up and down as they were shouting her name. I smiled smugly as I know that my cousin was very popular now.

the stage come to life as Lisa was coming up from below. She had her head down as the light was focused on her. Her blond hair was shining as she was preparing to sing. The music started before she snapped her head up and sang through her heart.

I remember when we broke, the first time

saying, "this is it, I've had enough,"

Cause like we hadn't seen each other in a month

When you, said you, needed space (what?)

Then you come around again and say

"Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change, trust me,"

Remember how it lasted for a day?

I said I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you

Lisa was beaming as she was looking around in the crowd. I was smiling as she was very happy and so much energy that was flowing from her. The crowd was chanting along with her as they were singing to her songs. She was singing and singing until the backup dancers came up on stage.

until I saw her again.

She was wearing a onesie that was a giraffe. I was so mesmerized that I forgot to breathe. She was dancing in front of me the whole time, oblivious that I was looking at her the entire show.

when there was a change of scene and songs, she went inside as well and changed to her costume like the other dancer according to the songs as Lisa saw fit. I was looking at her again and again when the last song that Lisa sang was going like this;

We were both young when I first saw you

I closed my eyes and the flashback started

You're standing there

On a balcony, in summer air

see the lights, see the party, the ballgowns

See you make your way through the crowd

And say hello

Little did I know

That you're Romeo, you were throwing pebbles

And my daddy said, stay away from Juliet

And I was crying on the staircase

Begging you please don't go

Lisa sang with her heart out as she was singing with the audience. I was seeing the dancer that was in a medieval dress that was fitted perfectly to her figure as she was dancing with her partner. Jealousy rose inside me. I grunted before I called for Luis.

Adella Lily.

"Who is this Adella Lily?" I asked Luis. He looked at me like I was being insane.

"umm, the same person that you were supposed to have dinner with?" Luis asked me as I did not know about this. I looked at him before an idea was forming inside my head. I smirked before I stood up from the seat and took my jacket.

"Sir, where are you going?" He asked me. I waved at him dismissively.

"Something tells me that I will get my little dancer in my little hands," I mumbled before I went out of the club and I went to the meeting point with one Adella Lily. This will be so much fun.

"so, Ms. Lily, isn't it?" I asked her as I was sipping on my wine. I did have the time to go to her as she was waiting for me before she went out. It has been 30 minutes, I think or maybe be more.

"Please, just call me Adella. Ms. Lily was what my students called me," she said as she was smiling at me, batting her eyelashes at me. I wanted to gag but I keep my professional charm in check.

"say, I heard that you have an employee name Camila, wasn't it?" I asked her as I was cutting through my meat. I was trying to play it cool before she laughed.

"oh, what's got you interested in my business, Nick?" She said. Shivers ran through my veins but I did not show it to her. Not that I don't want to but I have to make sure that everything will be according to plan.

"I think I saw her just now, dancing away," I said as I put the little bite of steak inside my mouth. Lily looked at me as if shocked.

"what do you mean?"

"well, she was dancing as the backup dancer of Lisa Gonzales. Don't your company rival with the corporation that Lisa signed to?" I asked her as I was adding more fuel to the fire.

"Excuse me for a moment," she said before she took her phone and went out to call her manager, I supposed. How do I know this business company runs their things? A moment later, she appeared as she took her seat again. I arched my eyebrow at her.

"well, nothing to be alarmed. I just make a few calls," she said as she continued to eat her steak as well.

"of course, I understand. I would make a few phone calls as well if anyone betrayed their contract with me," I said as I looked at her. She smiled but not reaching her ears. I smirked inwardly. The bug has been planted and I think I have to thank Lisa for this.

"so, what do you do, Nick?" She asked me as she sipped on her wine, trying to move away from the topic of her digression just now. I looked at her before I put down my utensils and sipped on my wine as well.

"well, I was the CEO of Garcia's industrial Inc. but you already know that, did you not?" I said as I put down my wine as I looked at her. She was playing her innocent eyes on me.

"what do you mean—"

"don't pretend like I don't know you. You must be debriefed by my mother to show up on this date and pretend that you were all interested in me as you were only after my money, isn't it?" I sneered at her. She was surprised, to say the least. Good acting, I gave her that.

"But I don't—" I held up my hand.

"no need to get to know each other further, Ms. Lily. I think I know a lot about you than you ever know yourself. please, enjoy the meal as I will cover it for you but tell my mother that I am not interested in you anymore. Have a good night," I said as I stood up before I drank my wine clean. I took my jacket before I headed out of the restaurant with the hope that she would be angry enough to fire my little dancer.
