The Coffee Shop in a Different World Station

Once in September visitors and secret orders

"Hello, is it time?

At noon one day, a man was heard after the bell at the entrance of the coffee shop 'swordfish', which had also settled in guests, rang with a karan colour.

When Takumi, who was helping clean up in the hall, turned around, there stood a man with a silk hat, somewhat of a good width.

Once a month, Takumi speaks to a familiar visitor who visits on a set day.

"Mr. Pastol, I've been waiting for you. Please, come this way."

Takumi led him to the table seat at the far end, having a meeting.

There's a bunch of paperwork piled up on the table. Pastle, who took his seat, spoke to Takumi as he perched and turned one of the bundles of paperwork.

"There's quite a bit of it this month... it's more than anything else with a thriving business"

"I'm afraid so. Well, thank you for this month. Please do not call me if you have any missing documents."

Takumi, who gave it back, gratefully goes to the kitchen.

Pastle, who missed the appearance, took the round edge glasses out of the inside as he patted open the attached attachment case.

Because of his age, glasses must be one of the "business tools” for a pastre whose eyes have recently become darker. In particular, unlike the long-established nose glasses and tied glasses, these recently acquired "twisted" glasses have less to worry about slipping away even after prolonged use.

It was a great thank you to Pastor for having to keep reading the fine letters.

The pastre, along with the glasses, also removes other “commercial tools" from the attachment case. Once you have the ink smoked, you can continue to write for long periods of time: an estilographica (fountain pen) and an ink kettle, a bundle of paper and a surface for notes, and an abacus and a calculator that can be considered the most important tool for Pastor, the accountant.

(Well, how is it this month...)

Having finished arranging the "commercial tools", Pastle took one of the bundles of documents at hand and began work by checking the contents of the documents on the most tabular table.

―――

(Hmm, Guests' feet seem to be stretching first...)

Pastor will open the "Daily Journal", which can be considered the main book of the store, and check the contents against slips and transaction documents.

It's plain and simple from the looks of it. But by following the movements of these numbers, I see what flow each store or company is in. Sometimes it's funny because the movement of numbers even reveals the 'truth' more than in the field.

For Pastol, this job was more rewarding than anything else, where the opportunity to 'solve the business mystery' was available.

"Good luck. I brought you some coffee, so let me put it here. Tailored to“ sweet "as usual."

Some time after Pastle started working, Takumi brought freshly brewed cinnamon coffee. From freshly brewed and still warm coffee, the aroma, which contains the sweetness characteristic of cinnamon coffee, rises with the hot air.

Taking off his glasses and thanking Takumi, Pastor grabbed a cup containing an amber seductive beverage placed on the table, enjoying the fragrance often before transporting it gently to his mouth.

"It's always delicious. Thank you."

"No, thank you at least for taking care of this one every month. By the way, how was your month?

Takumi gives a tight, serious look from a smile during customer service. Pastor turned to Takumi and replied with a reassuring smile.

"From what I've seen, it'll be especially fine. We have a proper daycare book, and we have the paperwork. And it looks like we're doing well."

To the words, Takumi takes a sigh of relief and bows her head.

"Thank you. Thanks to you, many customers have been able to take a trip these days. It will be difficult to operate in small numbers, but also in parallel with the work of the station building…"

"I think there is, too. Quick tally, but the number of customers has nearly doubled compared to the same period last year. Perhaps it's time to get closer to the limit in the current system."

Pastor's point was painful for Takumi herself. Especially recently, more and more customers were using the station to coincide with the organisation of the exposition, and both the station building and the coffee shop were busy enough to look around.

Once the exposition is over, the guests' feet will calm down, but still the station building and the coffee shop remain unchanged in a situation of gradual growth. There was a need to take some action to avoid inconvenience to the customer.

"I will also send my application to the" Station Manager ”through the report, so I hope to talk to you soon."

The performance and management of the coffee shop swordfish are summarized in a report by the hand of Pastor, the accountant, on a monthly basis and submitted to the “station manager”. It's one of those "promises” that has been going on since the swordfish opened.

It is only natural to accurately communicate the situation of the swordfish through the report, taking a step further from it, telling them where they are headed for the 'flow' read from the various figures, and making time to prepare a wand that will not tip over - this was the contribution to the swordfish that could make to the pastel endorsing the "swordfish support group”.

Takumi, who knew enough of the thoughts of such a pastre, replied briefly that it would help and nodded. I can keep the word going.

"So may I also prepare the" usual items ”today?

To the words, Pastor unwittingly breaks his face.

"Thank you. I look forward to this every month and counted the days I come to the swordfish. Let us keep the work going as we slowly wait for the fun that follows."

"Yes, I did. Now, after this, we'll be in the station building for a while, but then we'll be in the kitchen, so please let us know if you need anything."

Pastor nodded one at Takumi's words and put on his glasses again to immerse himself in the work.

◇ ◇ ◇

"Mr. Pastor was in the hall earlier! I offered you a coffee change!

Nyarch called out to Takumi, who had returned to the kitchen after working in the station building, with his eyes shining.

Takumi's hand, understanding the words and the intent of the sparkling eye, strokes Nyarch's head pompously.

"Yes, yes, you want me to have Nyarch's share, too, right? I know. Uh, what about Roland?

"Oh, if you like, I'd like to be with you! And I'd be happy to help you with that, if you like!

I also got the answers I expected from Roland, who was in the process of washing pots, frying pans, etc. used in normal business. Pastle, Nyarch, Roland, plus my share for four...... just the easy size to make.

Takumi gently imagines the amount and step of material that you need in your head. And I followed that image and skipped the instructions to Nyarch and Roland.

"Then Nyarch asks for four people to prepare a new coffee. It's a little thick and the cinnamon doesn't work fine. Roland, when you're done washing, prepare the bowl and foam, and keep the oven stove warm."

"I don't know! Copy that!

Takumi, having heard the two cheerful replies, quickly went into the pantry.

(Well, which shall I use today...)

Colorful fruits are placed on the shelves of the pantry. It's what Gardo and the Silva Chamber of Commerce are delivering, looking at the seasonal ones. The upper steps are also lined with processed and bottled fruits.

Takumi looks at them one by one, while thinking about combining them.

(Considering the sweetness and acidity, and then the overall balance...... shall we combine this today?)

Takumi chose fresh flamboessa (wooden strawberries) and platano (banana), which is ripe and gives off a sweet aroma, as well as a boiled albari cocktail (apricot) syrup.

In addition, ingredients such as arrose powder, eggs, and sugar are added to the wooden box in Takumi's hand.

(The rest is in here...)

Next removed from the refrigerator were milk, raw cream and custard cream.

The custard cream can be served by placing the stock solution, which is a mixture of egg yolks and sugar, arrose flour and milk, in a pan and setting it on fire, and boiling it gently. It's not that laborious.

However, there is one problem with making freshly made custard cream, which means' high temperatures'.

For this reason, the custard cream used for today's "usual items" was pre-filled by looking between mornings sales and stored in the refrigerator.

Takumi, with all the ingredients, returned to the kitchen and arranged the ingredients on the kitchen table. Roland, who had finished preparing the cookware, rushes right under the takumi.

"Flambuessa is washed in water and then 40% vertical and horizontal. Please peel the platano and slice diagonally thin, and also remove the albari cocktail from the bottle and slice it at the same thickness as the platano"

Roger that, and having briefly replied, Roland gets to work as quickly as he is instructed. Takumi also went into work watching how it was going.

Takumi breaks the eggs into a bowl and melts them down in a foam. Then, mix with the colza (vegetable seed) oil, sugar, salt and arrow flour in turn, and pour the milk into several portions when it has become creamy.

Except for the fact that it contains corsa oil, this is a very similar procedure to making a custard cream stock solution. However, for the fabric that is being made now, it is necessary to finish it and place it in a loose fabric to the extent that it flows saggily with the balls.

Takumi adjusted the concentration of the dough while carefully adding the milk.

The next step in making the dough is the whip (foam) of the raw cream. When Takumi takes the bottle with the raw cream, pour it into a separate prepared bowl. So, when I added the sugar, I put the hand-turned foam (mixer) inside, which I also use to make mayonnaise and meringue, and started turning the handle.

After a while, the raw cream stirred with a hand-turned foam contained air and increased solidity. From time to time, keep turning the handle while checking the finish condition, and the approximate completion is where the cream removed with the foam bubbler has reached a point where it does not fall with the corners up.

A voice rose from Roland as he continued to whip the raw cream.

"Prepare the fruit, it's over! The oven's warm, too!

"Thank you, then please continue this one"

Takumi hands Roland a bowl with cream and takes instead the bowl with the loose dough he has just let rest. Finally, the dough is baked.

When Roland put his hand on the oven stove ceiling that he had put on fire in advance, the heat quickly came into his hands.

Takumi rubbed a white cloth stained with corsa oil onto the ceiling, slightly taming the oil. Keep it there for a little while and a little smoke will rise from the top plate. Evidence of warming to the right temperature.

Gently drop the prepared fabric onto the finished ceiling with a ladle (egg). The saggy fabric naturally spreads the surface of the top plate, but the fabric was quickly extended thinly and greatly if you put a dragonfly-shaped wooden instrument on it and turned it in circles to draw a circle.

The fabric, which has been extended thinner by dragonflies, quickly dries the surface and one side bakes up. Takumi gently peeled off the dough using a pallet knife to prevent tearing, then turned it upside down and put a baking color on the back as well for a moment before removing it to the plate. One crêpe was baked in just a few moments.

Takumi bakes a total of 11 crepes that repeat this task one after the other. I got a voice from Roland just in time.

"Whip, is that all you need?

The foam bubbler that Roland was lifting was covered with cream with horns to the point of bowing down. It's just as hard as I imagined. Takumi carries the dough she just finished baking to the kitchen table when she signs Roland OK.

"Well, you both need help finishing it. I'll apply the cream, so line up the fruits in turn. Please start with Platano."

Takumi tells him so, placing a piece of baked crepe on the slab and spreading the waiting custard cream thinly across the crepe with a small pallet knife. When I finished applying the custard cream, I sent Roland an eye signal to arrange the slices of Platano.

And when I put the third crepe on it, now I get a bowl of whipped raw cream. Unlike the soft yellowish custard cream, the bright white raw cream gleams on the dough. Takumi finished applying the raw cream softly, letting Roland line up a slice of albari cocktail and scattering Flambessa on Nyarch to fill the gap.

After the fourth sheet, the custard cream and the raw cream were applied alternately, and the albaricocke and flambuessa were arranged side by side. As the central area gradually rises, it is held down gently from time to time to flatten. When I thus finished working on top of the eighth crepe, all the fruits had been lined up.

Only raw cream was spread over the ninth and tenth crepes. Then I covered the last eleventh sheet on top and pressed it fluffily and gently to even the whole thing again, completing the "usual item”.

I get cheers from Nyarch, who was watching the last finish up close.

"Wow! I can do it! I want you to hurry up!

"No. I'm not familiar with it as it is yet, so you can't leave it for a while. Besides, this is only Mr. Pastor's order."

Takumi puts a clean white cloth on the “usual product" that she can make, whilst jerking off the gnatch. Nyarch took the initiative to embrace the word and distract himself while plunging it.

◇ ◇ ◇

"Thank you again for this month. Enjoy."

Takumi put the "usual" and the newly brewed coffee on the tray and brought it under the pastel.

From that cross section, cut in quaternary parts, there are multiple layers of raw cream and custard cream, as well as bright fruits such as red and orange peeking into the face.

Beautiful enough to seem like a waste to eat, this is the "usual" thing Pastle is waiting for every month - a milk crepe.

Pastle, who was checking his books, enjoys the look of that beautiful milk crepe that was placed in front of him once he held hands.

"This is what I really appreciate every month. I'm almost done checking my books, so let me ask you later."

"Yes, I did. The day has tilted, so let me put the lamp here, will you? Now if you'll excuse me."

Takumi said so, lighting the lamp placed on the tabletop, and then returned to the kitchen with a grace.

If you noticed, the 'swordfish' hours had passed, and it was only Pastle sitting in the hall seat.

Pastle, who had already finished checking the books, when he saw Takumi return to the kitchen, closes the face that had been opened to show the bare gesture that he was continuing his work with a pattan and draws the milk crepe to hand.

(I can finally say this again this month......)

Illuminated by the swinging lamp lights, the milk crepe seemed to shine even brighter. The throat of the pastre is gobbled.

Pastle, after enjoying the look for a while, finally wills to never put a small knife for dessert in the tip section. The knife snugly entered the dough where the moisture in the cream was tamed and moist, and the carefully stacked layers were detached without breaking down.

(Beautiful no matter how many times I see it...... And its taste is…)

The pastre is transported to the mouth taking care not to break a piece of separated milk crepe. Each piece is a soft, thin textured fabric, but being layered on multiple layers had created a moderate elasticity and a bumpy, pleasant toothfeel.

If you chew while enjoying the texture of the dough, the refreshing sweetness of the raw cream sandwiched between the dough and the rich sweetness of the custard cream will blend together in your mouth. The two sweetnesses filled the mouth of the pastel with happiness.

If you continue eating further, now the fruit starts making claims in your mouth.

With its intense sweetness as a netri, Platano intertwines with two different creams for a chunky feel. Albari Cocke adds fruity sweetness and sourness, and the strong acidity of Flambuessa tightens the flavor as an overall accent.

The balance of sweetness and acidity had become an exquisite harmony, further enhancing the taste of milk crepe.

The pastel, which was eaten in one or two slices, once contains the coffee in its mouth.

Unlike what you were swallowing earlier, with no cinnamon or sugar in it, the original aromatic aroma of coffee tickles your nose and the characteristic bitterness and acidity really stains your tongue sweetened with milk crepe.

The pastel was completely captivating after noticing this contrasting combination, a coffee with a bitter taste for sweet milk crepes.

Even then, Pastor quietly continues to eat milk crepe by himself along with the coffee. The expression was a smile like that of a young young man who was finally able to enjoy the encounter.

―――――

"It still tastes good today! But why aren't we eating together in the hall? He looks like he's alone over there, and I think we'd all enjoy eating wii..."

Roland, who eats milk crepe at a small table placed in the corner of the kitchen, throws a simple question at Takumi.

"I guess Mr. Pastol prefers to eat quietly facing each other rather than making it busy with Wye. Don't disturb people because they have their own way of enjoying themselves"

To Takumi's answer, um, I don't know, Roland twisting his neck. But you felt like you couldn't help but worry, and again you started indulging in milk crepes.

By the way, Nyarch surrounding the same table, without my involvement, was silently indulging in eating one small cut of milk crepe at a time, or, if so, hanging a large slice at once, smiling so much that a heart mark floated on his cheek.

And see that the dish at hand is completely clean, or reach for Takumi softly. Often, the crushed voice of fugahh echoed in the kitchen.

"No, you can't. One by one."

Takumi can pinch the back of Nyarch's hand. Nyarch complains in tears whilst he protests irrationally, but Takumi doesn't go through with it. Roland, who was watching how it went, was, uh, crushing one sweetie.

Takumi, who threw the last slice into her mouth before Nyachi took it, whispered his hands together, then left her seat.

"Well, I'm going to Mr. Pastor's"

Takumi headed to the hall as she instructed the two of them to clean up after him.

―――――

"How was your month?

"Yeah, it was very tasty this month too. No, I took the time to indulge you.

Tilting the cup of coffee he left behind only for the last bite, Pastor tells Takumi to thank him. The story goes on.

"But I never thought I'd find this sweet dessert delicious again this year. I look forward to this milk crepe every month and... no, as long as I'm embarrassed"

To a painfully laughing pastre, Takumi gently shakes her neck to the side before returning the words.

"I think you want something with a work pattern, a body… or a sweet head. I've heard that after working with strength you start to want sugar to supplement your energy sources, like you want salt, after using your head.

"Well, it also means proof that you worked so hard."

Pastol gave a relieved look. Takumi nods one cockroach and continues her words.

"Nevertheless, you don't really want others to see you disappoint in something sweet like this. It may be an old way of thinking..."

"No, I have something that concerns people's eyes. We will be ready again next month, so stay tuned. It's time for Castagna (chestnut) season, and how about Castagna's milk crepe next month?

Castagna is one of Pastor's favorites. What finishing touch the milk crepe with it in it...... just imagine the throat of the pastre has gotten gory.

"Excuse me. Is that a milk crepe from Castagna...... exciting to just imagine. See you next month, thank you very much."

Pastle takes a seat, saying so, putting the materials he brings home in an attash case before wearing a silk hat over his head.

Leaving the store while Takumi dropped me off, it was completely dark outside.

The sun was setting much faster than it was temporarily. Morning and evening can be a lot colder. There was no doubt that autumn, rich in crops and fruits, was approaching that point soon.

Pastor arrived on his way home alone with the promised "encounter" in his chest a month later.
