Tang Li left the room and found Li Yuan'er's room based on her past memory.

Li Yuan'ers room was the most exquisite room in the entire house compared to the guest room that she had been living in for several years. There was a snowy white princess bed in the room with pink wallpaper. The ivory white furniture made it more attractive. It was a peaceful room. 

Tang Li opened the closet in the room and put the long dress with the brooch back to where it belonged.

Li Yuan'er screamed loudly when she had appeared at the party in that dress in her former life.

Tang Li did not know what was wrong. Li Yuan'er came at her and grabbed her. Then, Li Yuan'er wanted her to take the dress off in front of everybody. She had even lost control of herself and was screaming hysterically, "Who has allowed you to wear my dress? Give it back to me now!"

Tang Li stared at the brooch.

It was given to Ou Yangqian by Li Wenyan as a gift for their 25th wedding anniversary. 

Ou Yangqian adored that brooch. She was also the president of Tian Yi Enterprise. Hence, there were many people who had seen her wearing that brooch when she had attended different kinds of events. 

During the birthday party, Li Yuan'er had found that Tang Li was wearing her mother's brooch and the fact was that it was her father's gift to her mother had angered her so much that she had labeled Tang Li a thief in front of everybody. She had even blurted out that Tang Li was an illegitimate daughter in their family who had ruined their peaceful life.

In the end, Ou Yangqian had slapped Tang Li. It was a mess.

She was so shocked that she stood there helplessly.

She wanted to explain herself but she could not bring herself to say anything when she saw the cold expression on Li Wenyan's face. Her throat became so dry that she could not make any sound.

Tang Li closed the closet slowly. She appeared calm and cold now. In all those years she had been living in the Li family, she had never felt any family love. Now, it was a brand new chance for her. Surely, she would not yearn for anything that was never hers in the first place.

She stood up and heard some noises outside.

"Did your mother really bought you an LV bag from France?"

"Why would I lie to you? It's just a bag. My mother has bought it for me on her business trip..."

It was Li Yuan'er outside the door.

It was too late for Tang Li to leave the room from the front door. It was unsafe for her to hide in the closer or the washroom too. Suddenly, she saw the sliding door of the balcony.

There was nobody when Li Yuan'er pushed the door open.

Tang Li leaned against the wall and heard them talking from within the room.

They were talking among themselves after taking a look at the bag.

"Yuan'er, it's your grandma's birthday today. Where is the poor relative who is living here with you?"

Another girl exclaimed immediately, "That's true, Yuan'er. I want to take a look at her hair. Didn't you tell me that her hair looks like a chicken nest?" Then, she burst out laughing. "Is she an idiot? She has helped you the minute you said that you wanted to try the color of the dye. You told me that she had a crush on your elder sister's friend. Is that true?"

Li Yuan'er smirked. "She's just an ugly duckling who yearns for something that she will never get. Brother Jifeng has helped me with my homework the other day. She bumped into us and it happened there and then.

"Do you know how she addresses Brother Jifeng? She calls him Teacher Han."

All of them burst into laughter.

Tang Li felt great pain in her heart.

She knew some of the truths in her former life. Now, she had to go through it all over again. But still, she could not let it go.

"Yuan'er, can I go and take a look at the balcony?"

"What do you want to look at?

"I want to be like Juliet!"

Li Yuan'er ordered then. "Go and grab a pair of silk stockings for me."

Tang Li heard what they said. She looked at the air conditioner next to her.

On the other side of the balcony was another balcony.

If she did not leave now, they would find her there.

She stepped on the fence carefully. Then, she rolled over to the other side of the balcony and stood on the air conditioner. She was nervous but she forced herself to calm down. She quickly climbed into the balcony of the neighboring room. She was being extremely careful.

When she stood still there, she smelled a soft lingering smell of cigarettes. 

Tang Li looked up and saw a man smoking in the balcony.

The man seemed curious about her. He had seen her climbing over the balcony.
