The next day, Tang Li was woken up by the notification of a message.

She opened her eyes and saw the guest room of the Li family. She felt that her reincarnation was real instead of just a hallucination.

Tang Li sat up and picked up her sliding phone.

Tang Yin had brought her to a shop and bought her that phone when it was her 17th birthday. Tang Yin was sick back then.

Dian Nan was not a developed state compared to other states in Nation S. 

Especially those villages near the border of Myanmar and Vietnam. 

Tang Yin had worked as a nurse in one of the hospitals in Dian Nan before Tang Li was eight years old.

She was infected with HIV when she was saving a patient back then and had lost her job so they had moved to a remote village. 

They became very poor after that. But, they survived.

Back in those days, her mother had used up all of her savings to buy a phone for her. She had even prepared a train ticket for her to go and meet her father and some money for her as her living expenses. She had done everything for Tang Li when she realized that it was almost time for her to say goodbye to the world. 

That was why she did not even change her phone when she had been back in the Li family for two years now.

There were two unread messages.

One message was from Wu Xuehan.

[Tang Li, will you come to school today?

[The English teacher was taking attendance just now. She said that you won't pass your end-of-term test if you're absent from three classes. You have been absent from two classes now. You better attend the English class on this coming Thursday.]

Tang Li was in a trance when she saw Wu Xuehan's name.

Wu Xuehan was her friend at the arts college. She was also her roommate who slept on the lower bunk in her room. 

Tang Li had sat for the college entrance examination in June last year.

When she returned to the Li family, Li Wenyan had sent her to a private secondary school. At the same time, Li Yuan'er was a student there too.

She was one year older than Li Yuan'er. She should be studying in a year higher than Li Yuan'er. 

But, she did not manage to study properly when she was living in Dian Nan because of her mother's illness. When she was back in the capital, she found herself lagging behind in her studies. She could not follow the syllabus of the senior year.

She studied for another year but her study did not become better because of her oppressive life in the Li family.

So, Li Wenyan put her into a cheap college. 

On the other hand, the film academy that Li Yuan'er was currently studying at was just opposite her cheap college. 

[I'll go to school this morning.]

Tang Li got up and prepared herself when she had replied to the message.

She did not have many clothes.

She opened the closet and her gaze soon fell on the cardigan.

Then, she grabbed a T-shirt and put it on. She took the cardigan and phone with her when she went downstairs.

It was 6.55 a.m. The others were still asleep.

The servants were busy preparing for breakfast in the kitchen.

Tang Li walked into the kitchen and saw that there were bacon and eggs sandwiches on the table. She sat down and grabbed a fork and a spoon. But, someone angrily voiced her disapproval next to her.

Tang Li looked up and saw Aunt Wu placing a cup of milk on the table.

"The sandwiches are not for you. It's for Miss Yuan'er." Aunt Wu frowned slightly and looked at Tang Li with dissatisfaction. "If she wakes up and finds that her breakfast is gone, she will surely throw a tantrum."

If it had happened in the past, Tang Li would surely put down the knife and fork.

But, she did not heed her advice that morning. She used the fork and knife and cut the sandwiches into smaller pieces instead.

Aunt Wu's face darkened. Tang Li's smile deepened. "We're just the same. We're the young ladies in this family. If Li Yuan'er is allowed to eat the sandwich, why am I not?"

'How dare you say that you're the same?'
