Li Shimin's face was as calm as ever, and he even wanted to laugh a little.

Hou Junji murmured:

"Two more... no, if you include Yan Zhenqing and Yongqiu Zhang Xun, there should be four."

"Our Tang Dynasty is really... like stars in the clouds."

Wei Zheng was a little confused:

"The encirclement situation is doomed."

"The rebels' civil strife has been shattered."

"How can Tongguan break such a good situation? How dare we break it?"

Wei Zheng is not a pure civil servant, so Chang'an Wuxian still understands.

Wei Zheng couldn't bear to think about how the rebels, like jackals, would ravage Chang'an, which had been prosperous for centuries, after being isolated for half a year.

Facing Wei Zheng's sorrow, Fang Xuanling pulled Wei Zheng over and whispered comfort.

Li Shimin stood upright with his hands behind his back and said nothing.

Li Jing was studying Zhang Xun of Yongqiu.

His eyes swept around the map, and finally Li Jing judged:

"This patrol guards Yongqiu. This place is too close to the rebels and the terrain is open and difficult to defend."

"If you want to stop the rebels from going south, you should retreat to Songzhou. This city is sandwiched between two mountains, which can eliminate the rebels' terrain advantage..."

As he spoke, Li Jing fell silent because he remembered that Songcheng County, the administrative seat of Songzhou, was renamed by His Majesty.

Before Songcheng County was renamed, it was... Suiyang.

"Zhang Xun...is that Zhang Suiyang?"

Li Shimin naturally thought of it, sighed slowly, and whispered:

"Jiedushi's army and towns are all on the border, and the southeast has been peaceful for a long time. This patrol should be to recruit brave volunteers from the countryside."

"The rebels were unable to defeat the rebels, so they had to retreat from Yongqiu to Suiyang."

Li Shimin just said it briefly, and even had some guesses in his heart:

The reason why Zhang Xun retreated to Suiyang was probably because he was tired of the defeat at Tongguan.

As for how Tongguan was defeated...

[For An Lushan, he sees the situation more clearly than Yan Zhenqing.

On the northern front, Guo and Li fought against Shi Siming, who almost became the bare commander and only escaped with his own life.

The hometowns of the rebels under An Lushan's command were all in Hebei, so people's hearts were agitated, so they almost shouted to An Lushan that "Heaven will punish the traitors."

On the southeastern front, the rebel general Zhang Tongmei was killed in the battle formation by Shanfu County Lieutenant, and the rebel general Yang Chaozong was blocked by the Dongping prefect.

Li Huaixian, Ling Huchao and other tens of thousands of rebels who then went to reinforce Yongqiu were held tightly by Zhang Xun, the magistrate of Zhenyuan County, and were too trapped to move.

On the southern front, Lu Jiong, the prefect of Nanyang, and Xue Yuan, the prefect of Yingchuan, led 50,000 southern troops and fought fiercely with the rebel general Wu Lingxun in Jingxiang.

Later, Lai Yi, known as Lai Chew, supported the southern front, and the rebels were even more unable to advance.

The western front is Tongguan. Being dragged here for half a year has already made An Lushan lose his temper.

In this desperate situation of An Lushan, Tongguan, which had been unable to be breached for half a year, opened the city gate by himself.

At this moment, neither Yan Zhenqing nor Guo Ziyi, nor Zhang Xun and Lai Yi could understand:

If you hang up and win the game, why would someone want to cheat and get killed?

Ge Shuhan was also helpless. The decision to leave seclusion was not made by him, but by Xuanzong and the prime minister.

Yang Guozhong himself was Ge Shuhan's financial backer. Before the Anshi Rebellion, the two belonged to the anti-Anlushan alliance.

But as Ge Shuhan gained power and forced Xuanzong to frame An Sishun for death, Yang Guozhong became wary:

He didn't want to follow in An Sishun's footsteps.

And soon, Yang Guozhong received a secret report:

Someone asked Ge Shuhan to bring troops back to Chang'an to kill Yang Guozhong so that An Lushan could no longer use the slogan "Qingjun side".

Ge Shuhan was noncommittal, but Yang Guozhong was scared out of his wits.

After obtaining Xuanzong's approval, Yang Guozhong recruited 13,000 troops to garrison Bashang to resist the rebels, led by his confidant Du Ganyun.

This army made Ge Shuhan very uncomfortable, so he reported to Xuanzong that he put this army under the command of Tongguan, and casually killed Du Qianyun without even bothering to fabricate charges.

It was precisely because of these battles between the two sides that Yang Guozhong's uneasiness reached its peak, and he finally used all his strength to get Xuanzong's brother Shu Han out of seclusion.

This is the reason why Ge Shuhan "went out of seclusion crying".

Looking back, the root cause that pushed the Anshi Rebellion to its climax was also the collapse of trust.

Because of An Lushan's rebellion, Xuanzong no longer trusted anyone, so he killed Gao Xianzhi and Feng Changqing without thinking.

The deaths of Gao and Feng made it difficult for Ge Shuhan to trust the court, so he would do anything to seize power in order not to be restricted.

Ge Shuhan's behavior made Yang Guozhong no longer trust Ge Shuhan, and finally contributed to Ge Shuhan's release.

All of the above eventually caused the rebellion that could have been extinguished in half a year to intensify, becoming a wildfire that burned down the prosperous age of the Tang Dynasty. 】

"We'll see when times are tough..." Li Shimin thought silently.

Then he sneered and said:

"I finally understand that Chang'an is too peaceful."

"If we were in Luoyang, where there is no danger to defend..."

Changsun Wuji whispered:

"Everyone, in the final analysis, this Yang Guozhong has a bad intention."

"If this prime minister were like Zhang Jiuling and Yan Zhenqing, let alone whether he would fight for power like this, this rebellion would not arise."

But everyone understands the meaning:

If the imperial court was really in Luoyang, the imperial army would be dead as usual. If the rebels came, Xuanzong would just run a few more steps.

Moreover, the reason why the court is so troubled is because of the prime minister. As for why the prime minister has problems...

Li Shimin's mentality was surprisingly good, and he boldly opened the microphone and said:

"What is the Anshi Rebellion? It is better to call it Longji's legacy."

Then he sighed:

"Now I know that the descendants' hatred for him not to die twenty years early is no lie."

Naturally, the sculpture of the city that never sleeps came to mind.

It is known as the Taixuan prosperous age and the three-story base of the Kaiyuan prosperous age.

It can be seen from various aspects that Xuanzong was definitely not so dim at the beginning of his reign.

This Xuanzong seemed to be like himself, seizing power with the position of Saburo, and then worked hard to bring this century-old prosperity to its peak.

Then he pushed it down with his own hands.

Then a deviant thought popped up in Li Shimin's mind uncontrollably:

This Xuanzong couldn't have been time traveled by someone, right?

"This Xuanzong couldn't have been transported through time by An Lushan's biological father, right?"

Zhang Fei whispered to encourage this guess.

This statement can only make everyone laugh helplessly, and then sigh after laughing.

"Such a great situation, but due to the selfish intentions of a few people, the people of Li suffered a military disaster..."

Liu Bei was even more unacceptable to this situation than Li Shimin.

Marching into Central Asia, spanning tens of thousands of miles, if there is no chaos, this Tang Dynasty is fully capable of marching into Central Asia and compete with the so-called black-clad giant.

But in the end, the king and his ministers will plot against each other, and a small chaos will turn into a big disaster, ruining the country's destiny and destroying its prosperity.

Then Liu Bei looked at Kong Ming, who gave him a puzzled expression.

Then he looked at his third brother, Zhao Liu, Zhang Fa and other civil and military officials, and a doubt arose in his mind:

Is it so difficult to treat people with sincerity and know them well?

Kong Mingze is already planning with Zhao Yun:

"From this point of view, it is better to take the land of Yongliang and Longyou as early as possible."

Zhao Yun rarely joked:

"Why is the military advisor so anxious now?"

Kong Ming said with envy:

"If the iron cavalry is ready, ten times the number of soldiers can be used to defeat it."

A true cavalryman! Rather than those cavalry who only use horses to walk, or the rangers who can only harass and attack.

And this is one of their current dilemmas:

Chengdu produces money but not horses.

[Cui Qianyou, who was born in Bolingcui, may be the famous Tang Dynasty general with the most controversial record. 】

Hou Junji didn't care anymore, he just remembered another name.

Li Shimin was full of curiosity. This son of aristocratic family finally served the Tang Dynasty and was loyal to the country?

but……

[In the Battle of Luoyang, Cui Qianyou defeated the famous general Feng Changqing.

Then, with the prestige of victory, he forced the famous general Gao Xianzhi to flee without a fight.

In the battle of Lingbao, he defeated the famous general Ge Shuhan, which can be said to be in the limelight for a while.

It’s just hard to say how much water it contains.

The battle of Lingbao, in which Ge Shuhan was forced out of seclusion, was a disastrous defeat.

As we said before, Tongguan had 80,000 border troops transferred from Longyou and Hexi at this time. In terms of the quality of the soldiers alone, the gap between the two sides could not be widened.

Therefore, Shu Han, the defeated brother of Lingbao, really had no way to take the blame.

Moreover, before leaving the border, Ge Shuhan had already predicted that Cui Qianyou would ambush in his confrontation with Xuanzong.

Since everything has been predicted, wouldn't it be enough to advance slowly and steadily?

But unfortunately, Ge Shuhan, whose struggle with Yang Guozhong has become public, does not have the capital.

After leaving the customs, if Ge Shuhan wanted to talk to Xuanzong, he had to send the letter to Tongguan first, and Tongguan would then forward it to Xuanzong of Chang'an.

But Yang Guozhong was by Xuanzong's side and could speak at any time.

For Ge Shuhan, the longer he was delayed outside Tongguan, the greater the possibility that his head would be hung on the Tongguan turret like Gao and Feng.

Therefore, Ge Shuhan strived for a quick victory after leaving the border, and then stepped into Cui Qianyou's ambush.

After the defeat of Lingbao, Ge Shuhan fled back to Tongguan, where he gathered the remaining soldiers and planned to defend Tongguan. However, the general Huo Ba Guiren came and kidnapped Ge Shuhan without saying a word and presented him to Anlu Mountain.

With the defeat of Ge Shuhan, Tongguan also quickly fell.

After Xuanzong received the news, he still emphasized when he went to court:

I want the imperial commander to personally capture Anlu Mountain alive. All civil and military officials, as well as the people of Chang'an, must have the desire to serve the country!

But late that night, Xuanzong fled Chang'an with Yang Yuhuan and several favored sons.

The next day when the court went to court, all the civil and military officials discovered that the emperor was missing. Chang'an quickly fell into chaos, and dignitaries rushed to escape.

The superiors ran away, and the soldiers who stayed behind looked at each other and fled in all directions. At this point, Chang'an was waiting for An Lushan to come and take over.

In June 756, the rebels entered Chang'an.

It is said that when Xuanzong was running away, Yang Guozhong suggested burning the treasury, but Xuanzong refused because the rebels had no money and would rob the people.

Yang Guozhong then suggested demolishing the bridge in the west of Chang'an to stop the rebels, but Xuanzong rejected it on the grounds of leaving a way for the people to survive.

Seriously, this should be the result of later generations forcibly giving Xuanzong gold. After all, he escaped late at night for fear of being discovered by officials. How could he set fire to and smash the bridge at the same time? 】

"Xizong actually imitated Xuanzong's old deeds!" Li Shimin gritted his teeth.

He, who conquered the world on horseback, could accept an emperor who died in battle, but he could not accept a king who abandoned his subjects and people.

Why don't these descendants remember that I retreated from the enemy along the Wei River and then launched a fierce military campaign to avenge our humiliation?

As an emperor, he has no grand plans, but he can escape faster than the common people. What's the point?

Hou Junji lamented Ge Shuhan's situation:

"To win slowly, you will die. To fight quickly, you will perish."

"There is no choice between two deaths."

I scrapped a rather out-of-the-box version of the manuscript, so it’s late.
