I laid down on the bed with my hand covering my eyes. My cheeks are still flushed from earlier.

I opened my eyes and removed my hand from off of my face. I groggily stood up and walked to the arched window. In the garden there were flowers and a fountain. Despite the many roses only one stood out to me. And her name is Mila.

My heart throbbed as I remembered her shy look last night. I chuckled. Despite being a viper in the day she becomes quite docile with my kisses.

I don't know when it started. Was it from the moment we met? The night we spent together? Or after that?

Meeting her was unusual in the first place. Me and my men were looking for another boat to loot when I came across hers. At first I was excited that the boat looked like that of a noble. When I stepped on to her ship I found her on the deck dripping wet as if she had taken a swim. She was wearing an unusual silk dress. At first I had thought of her as being from some foreign land. Despite her closed eyes I felt my heart beat as I watched her calm angelic face. I had been with many women in the past due to my occupation but none of them took my breath away like her.

At first it was just my possessive habit to make her mine. I saw her as some foreign treasure which would brighten my dim world. Mila did more than that. Her expressions, smiles, and reactions slowly brought me amusement. Over time I've started to notice a shift in her importance to me. Mila's reckless attitude and persistence to protect those she cares about made my heart stir.

Ever since the terrible past I've faced, she was the first thing to bring me joy. And for that I thank her. At first her curse words used to scare and annoy me. Now they amuse me and frankly make me like her more. I've teased her with the title of wife but the more time I spend with her the more that I want to make it a reality.

When she went underwater as my ship sunk that was the first moment I felt helplessness in a long time. I thought that if she were to leave me then my life would lose its purpose. The last time that she was shot I went into a fit of rage. My crew members state that as I carried her with tears in my eyes I shot about ten of Weston's men. None of them have died as I've heard but they were gravely injuries. The worst thing was seeing her bleed and her beautiful eyes closed. I was willing to give the God above anything so that I could see her eyes open once more.

The strength she has for a woman sometimes makes me feel that she may be a fallen war Goddess. But when she turns soft and smiles at me I melt. The way her luscious lips turn up when she's happy, the way that they tighten when she is perplexed. The way her dark hair shines under the sun. The way her dark eyes glisten and reflect me as she stares into my soul. These are all moments which I have recorded and documented in my heart. For me to repeat and watch over and over when I please.

I set the hat on my head as I walked out the door. Servants greeted me as I smiled back.

Even now Mila was trying to handle everything on her own. Despite her denial of loving me she does acts as if she cares for me. Lately I've been nervous to even ask her out for a walk. I can't control my feelings any longer. I want her to laugh for me, only look at me, stay by my side at night.

I stood in the middle of the corridor as I held my beating heart. I, Baron, have truly fallen in love with that crazy girl Mila.
