Arthur Adamos' POV

"I don't think that he was a rogue. He might be trying to run away from it," Sebastian said as he was examining the unconscious man on the table. I was crossing my hands over my chest as I was looking at them.

Caleb was serious while Xavier was assessing the man. Sebastian was making some note before he sighed.

"The good news is he was alright but the bad news is…" Sebastian said before he looked at us and he was trying to make us suspect the worst.

"Just tell us already," I mumbled before he was looking at me.

"He's your brother," he said as I was looking at him.

"What?"

"He's your half-brother. Your father, bless his soul, has sent his other son, your half-brother, here before he went back to Turkey when you were only a child. He has an affair with…"

I did not give him any time to explain the next sentence as I was gripping his throat.

"Next time, think before you were saying about my father," I snarled at him before Sebastian was amused by my anger. But he did not do anything. He simply let me gripped him even more.

"Arthur," Caleb warned before I released him. Sebastian took a deep breath before he was looking at me.

"If you want to know then, ask your mother. I'm sure she be delighted to tell you the 'truth' of your family history," he said as he looked at the unconscious man back.

"That boy stays here until he recovers. I don't want him to be throttled like I was," Sebastian said before I was looking at Caleb. He nodded at me before I left the Ultima's house.

I was running toward my house as anticipation and fear were riding me. I cannot think of anything but what Sebastian has told me at that time.

"He's your brother,"

"He's your half-brother. Your father, bless his soul, has sent his other son, your half-brother, here before he went back to Turkey when you were only a child. He has an affair with…"

I refused to believe that my mother was being cheated on. I don't want that to be on my conscious but I guessed I will found out about the truth after all.

"Mother?" I spoke in Turkish with my mother when she was raised in that environment. My father was a Greek man but he spoke that language as well. I was lucky enough to know English as my additional language to Greek and Turkish.

"In here, dear," my mother said as I heard from the kitchen. I hoped she was not attempting to do some chores before the house was burning down again.

"Mother?" I asked her as she was staring at the teacup and when I approached her, she looked up and smiled at me.

"What are you doing?"

"I got a message from the Alpha and he asked me to tell the 'truth' about our family," she said calmly as she was staring at the cup. I don't know what to say but took my seat and I looked at her.

"You know that my marriage to your father was not a happy one. He was not my mate and I was arranged by the Gamma, your grandfather, to marry him. It was a marriage of convenience and when he was here to drop off the latest merchant for the islander…" my mother stopped as she was looking outside the room. She took a deep breath as I was listening to her story.

"He meets his mate, the real one and they get it off quickly. Your father left me for 3 months before he decided to come home, in Turkey that is. And when I asked him about why the delay…" my mother said as her eyes were gleaming with tears.

"Mama, stop. I don't wish you to be sad, please," I said as I was taking her hands before I kissed her knuckles. She smiled but not a happy one. A sad one, perhaps, or maybe it was regret.

"I know that I tolerated him but when he did confess to me…it felt like I was being broken into thousand pieces. I married him because I was obliged to do so. I hope that you will not experience the same thing as me, my love. I hope that you will find your real mate soon enough," my mother said as she kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes before I took a deep breath. Maybe I should tell my mother about my dilemma as well.

"I found my mate," I said to my mother as she was surprised to hear it.

"You did?" She asked before I chuckled lowly.

"Yes but the bad news is she's Alpha's fiancée,"

Diana Marchand's POV

I was still being dragged by Sam before we were in the packhouse. I don't know why we're here but I can see that people were lurking around as Xavier and Caleb were talking with each other before a new focus was on the light.

There was an unconscious man that was lying on the bed.

"What's happening?" I asked Sam before she was turning grim at me.

"It seems that the rogue has attacked one of the members. I don't think I ever see him before but maybe he was one of those recluses that refused to get out until rogue decided to attack him," Sam said grimly as I was turning to look at her. She was not yet to find her mate but something about her expression told me otherwise.

Maybe she did find him and was not happy about it.

"Well, as much as I like to sit and chat, I have to get going. My mum will go ballistic if I was not home by curfew," I said before I excused myself and Sam said that she will go home as well. I was laughing at her for not wanting to be in a crowded place since she loved to work in town, outside our community.

"I see you tomorrow," she said and before I can reply, she was gone.

I shook my head as I was making my way toward my home. The path was narrow and the moonlight was shining in the night sky. It seems romantic after all and I was trying to not thinking about a certain someone that smells like cinnamon.

I sighed before I was hugging myself. Even though the air was cold and chilly, I was not that cold. Werewolves were warm by nature so it will get some time for us to feel the chill.

Something snapped in the dark as I was turning to look who was it. I don't know if it was safe to be out here in the open where the unmated males can come and claim me on the spot. I did not even kiss Arthur to tell them that I was his and they will be dead to be messing with Gamma's mate.

"Who's there?" I shouted, trying not to be afraid of the dark. I can sense that it was another werewolf and it was covering its scent.

"Show yourself, coward," I shouted, not particularly know if I can take this werewolf or not.

"Well, it seems that my mate likes to fight with fire," Arthur's smooth voice was coming from the tree before he showed himself. He was leaning against the tree before he crossed his arms in front of his chest.

My erratic heart was slowing down as it was only Gamma and also my mate. I should not be worried about rogues since he was guarding the territory tonight.

At least I know that I will be safe tonight.
