Chapter 59: Another Fight with a Martial Master

“What?! The Scarlet Guard!”

“It’s the Scarlet Guard. They’ve come to avenge the trader caravan!”

“We’re doomed…”

The mountain bandits panicked at Ye Tian’s roar. All of them knew the fearsome and terrible reputation of the Scarlet Guard.

As Ye Tian and the others charged at them, the bandits all wanted to flee.

Laughable!

Everyone in Blood Jade City knew the powerful Scarlet Guard and these mountain bandits lived near the city. Some of them had visited the city before, so they understood the fearsome reputation of the powerful troop even more clearly.

When these mountain bandits saw Ye Tian cutting down their brothers like cabbage, they all lost their wits and courage.

“Kill! Haha, these trash bandits! Kill, brothers, kill them all! No one will go home sober tonight!” Old Zhang cried out.

“Hmph, a bunch of bandit scum. Just as weak as I thought—we should’ve just charged in!” Liu Hongwu sniffed disdainfully, complaining as she slapped aside four mountain bandits, unstoppable.

The Scarlet Guard recruits exploded with power, their Level Seven Martial Artist cultivation destroying the terrified bandits, the hundred-man troop cutting through the stronghold like a sword through the chest.

The forward wave of mountain bandits was already splintering, their morale instantly crushed by the Scarlet Guards.

More and more cowards began to flee.

Of course, the mountain bandit camp wasn’t without its experts, and the Level Nine leaders soon began to muster up their men for a counterattack.

“Brothers, never fear! They aren’t wearing Scarlet Guard uniforms! They’re not Scarlet Guards—they’re lying!” One of the Level Nine experts, a scarred face burly man, cried out loudly.

“Right! They don’t have the uniform!”

“No Scarlet Sabers…”

“Liars! They aren’t Scarlet Guards!”

The mountain bandits stirred, the scarred man’s roar waking them from their cowardice. Ye Tian and the others looked nothing like the Scarlet Guards they knew and feared.

Morale began to rise. Although the bandits were shocked by their attacker’s strength, their fear was mostly for the reputation of the Scarlet Guard. If these piddling hundred experts weren’t actually part of that famed guard, then the bandits had nothing to fear.

Mountain bandits lived on a knife’s edge. All of them were used to slaughter and death, and those who rose to expert level were never afraid to fight warriors more powerful than they.

More and more bandits gathered around the two Level Nine experts.

“En?” Ye Tian grunted. As the leading officer, he was keeping an eye on both his troop’s arrangement and the mountain bandits in front of him while he slaughtered his way forward.

And the formation that those two Level Nine Martial Artists were arranging.

Soon, Ye Tian felt the tide turning. The mountain bandits began to surge forward, their faces shedding fear and terror for a crazed bloodlust.

“Talented leaders!” Ye Tian smirked, praising his enemies.

His eyes gleamed as he turned to the small, red-robed figure nearby. “Little girl, do you dare come with me to slay the two leaders?”

Liu Hongwu was in the midst of demonstrating her fearsome cultivation, injuring the mountain bandits around her. Although the girl had a domineering spirit, she had never actually killed anyone and had certainly never fought in such a chaotic battle. The flying limbs, shattered bones and spraying blood were frightening.

But she was still a proud child of the Scarlet Guard, and with Ye Tian’s provocation, her competitiveness surged. She slapped away a bandit sneaking up behind her and threw back her head. “Who doesn’t dare? And don’t call me little girl—you’re only a year older!”

“Haha, there are two bandits, so we each get one. If you kill yours more slowly, you’re just a little girl!” Ye Tian laughed, dashing forward, his dancing saber cutting heads from shoulders.

“Hmph! Then if you lose, you’re just a little brat!” Liu Hongwu smirked, rushing forward with her mysterious footwork, piercing through the crowd of mountain bandits like a red phantom.

Her footwork was astonishing, and even though Ye Tian had a head-start, he was soon overtaken.

The little girl’s feet floated through the air like a gust of wind, and in the blink of an eye, she had pulled far ahead. Ye Tian’s eyes fell open as he called out with praise: “Good body art! These little scions really cannot be compared to us poor folk!”

Ye Tian sighed emotionally. Liu Hongwu’s technique was truly marvelous, clearly the result of a powerful Martial Skill. Ye Tian was somewhat envious—it was good to have a powerful father!

Soon, the two of them had cut through the mountain bandits and were nearing the two leaders.

The two Level Nines began to panic; with Ye Tian and Liu Hongwu’s power on clear display, the two bandit leaders knew they had no chance.

“Give this grandaunt your life!” Liu Hongwu lashed out decisively, striking forward with a killing blow in order to win the competition. She held nothing back, using her ultimate move and filling the air with countless magnificent palm shadows, smashing aside the mountain bandits blocking her way.

With the bloodied path cleared, she rushed toward the stunned bandit leader.

But just as her palm strike was about to land, a saber light flashed before her eyes, cutting down the bandit leader in front of her and spraying her face with blood.

Liu Hongwu’s stunned little face was covered with the mountain bandit leader’s blood.

“Little girl, looks like you’re still just a little girl, hahaha!” A laughing figure rushed by her, cutting the other leader.

When Liu Hongwu had cleared the path, Ye Tian had slashed out with Saber Intent to steal her prey.

Liu Hongwu watched in dazed astonishment as Ye Tian killed off the other leader. Her lips twisted into a pout as she rushed at Ye Tian, yelling: “Ah!! You dirty brat! I’m going to kill you!”

But right at that moment:

Hong longlong!

A nearby cave collapsed upon itself in a dusty explosion as a slender figure shot forward, his fierce Qi billowing around him as he flashed over to Ye Tian and Liu Hongwu.

“Who are you? How dare you invade my Jade Peak Stronghold! Do you want to die?”

His loud, furious voice called out.

The powerful figure’s True Qi stormed around him, his single eye glaring angrily. His scarred face twisted with killing intent.

The single-eyed middle-aged man struck out with both palms, his Qi smashing forward like a mighty wave at Ye Tian and Liu Hongwu.

“Hong!” Ye Tian quickly parried with his saber, his eyes narrowing as he unleashed his powerful Qi to block the one-eyed expert.

Unfortunately, the little girl couldn’t react in time and was sent flying by the man’s powerful Qi. When she pulled herself up off the ground, her face was covered with horrified astonishment.

“Martial Master! He’s a Martial Master!” Liu Hongwu shouted anxiously.

“Martial Master!”

The two words cut like a hurricane through the Scarlet Guards, every recruit twisting around to look in wide-eyed astonishment.

Immediately, nervous panic and anxiety crept over them.

The difference between Martial Master and Martial Artist was the difference between heaven and earth. Only godlike geniuses had ever bridged the realm gap.

As soon as they heard the word, the Scarlet Guards lost their confidence. Experts like them fully understood the difference between realms, and they had no hope of resisting.

“Ha!”

Just as the nine Scarlet Guards panicked, none of them able to decisively retreat, a figure leaped forward like a mighty god, slashing downwards with his saber at the Martial Master bandit.

That insane moment would be forever carved into the souls of every Scarlet Guard recruit.

“The boss!” One of the Scarlet Guards cried out, his eyes filled with disbelief.

The Scarlet Guard recruits could only watch in stunned disbelief as the young man leaped upwards, his blade shining like the sun, radiating burning light.

“It’s really the boss!” Squad Leader Zhang gulped with disbelief, a look of deep reverence creeping over his face.

The battle had frozen, and every recruit and bandit was staring up at the domineering young man with respect and awe.

“Hong!”

Ye Tian’s Saber Qi burst forward, cutting forward like lightning. The cold arc of dazzling light was a reaper’s scythe slashing through the air, the weapon of a god of death.

“En?” The Martial Master’s face fell with shocked disbelief, unable to believe the power of the saber strike.

Hong Long long!

The anxious Martial Master hurriedly unsheathed his machete and struck forward at Ye Tian’s saber.
