Chapter 41: A Single Strike

Ye Tian turned back on the mountain road, urging Little White towards the pursuing Wang Hong.

Ye Ba was yelling anxiously but he couldn’t do anything as Ye Tian ignored him, continuing onwards.

Wang Hong watched with surprise as Ye Tian turned.

“En?” Wang Hong grunted, her killing intent not lessening even as she wondered if the child before her was retarded. He was running towards her? Was he not afraid of death?

“Wang Hong! Is the Wang Family insane? Are you declaring war on the Ye Family Village?” Ye Ba cried out helplessly, turning to follow Ye Tian.

He was filled with confusion—why had the Wang Family Village sent Wang Hong to kill them? Were they not afraid of mutual destruction?

“Declare war? Heehee, maybe!” Wang Hong called back mysteriously, smiling fiercely at Ye Ba. In her mind, Ye Ba and Ye Tian were already dead.

Ye Tian was only a hundred steps away from Wang Hong now, with an anxious Ye Ba in pursuit.

“Brat, I don’t know if you’re insane or stupid. Die!” Wang Hong called out coldly, her ugly face twisted viciously, her appearance terrifyingly disgusting.

The truth was that her face was more killer than her cultivation. Normal people didn’t even dare to look at her. Ye Tian could only handle her with his previous experience dealing with “experts” like Miss Luo Yufeng, Sister Lotus, and others like them from Earth.

Wang Hong paid no mind to the young man on the tiger, not even taking out her spear. She simply prepared a palm strike as their mounts neared.

Ye Tian’s eyes narrowed in focus, but Wang Hong’s actions were just as he had anticipated. After all, Wang Hong was a Level Nine Martial Artist—she would never use her full power to deal with a teenager.

But she would pay for underestimating him.

Hu! Hu!

The two met face to face and the sound of Wang Hong’s cutting palm strike filled Ye Tian’s ears.

Ye Tian acted as if in panic, hastily pulling out the Scarlet Saber and yelling wildly as he chopped at Wang Hong.

His face was filled with terror, clearly scared out of his mind.

“Level Two Martial Artist? Hehe!” Wang Hong chuckled, instantly gauging Ye Tian’s Qi, cold amusement in her heart.

She paid no mind to Ye Tian’s saber, his apparent cultivation level and terror utterly deceiving her.

Finally their mounts met, the Black Blood Horse neighing courageously, charging into Little White even as the tiger roared.

Blood Jade City’s Black Blood Horse was specifically trained to brave any and every beast below the Martial Master Realm.

This was another reason for the Black Blood Horse’s high value.

Wang Hong continued forward with her palm strike. Even this casual blow carried a truly terrifying amount of power. A Level Seven expert would’v been badly injured, much less a level Two teenager.

Wang Hong turned to Ye Ba even as she struck out at Ye Tian.

Ye Tian’s death was a foregone conclusion.

And if Ye Tian had been a Level Two Martial Artist, then things would’ve gone just as she planned.

Now!

As Wang Hon turned away, Ye Tian’s eyes narrowed and gleamed.

Ye Tian roared in a speechless focus, the full strength of his Level Nine True Qi bursting forth with his Saber Intent, shooting forward with his Scarlet Saber.

“What?!” Wang Hong yelped, her face changing as she began to turn.

Even though she didn’t understand it, Wang Hong clearly sensed Ye Tian’s powerful cultivation.

But it was already too late and she couldn’t even react, her eyes only widening in shock as the Saber Intent flew forward at terrifying speed towards her neck.

Cold dismay filled Wang Hong’s heart as she detected an invisible, fatal threat approaching her.

Even with all her decades of experience, Wang Hong could only guess at the blow as she lifted her left hand to defend her head.

Hong!

With a muffled thud, Wang Hong’s right-handed palm strike was broken by Ye Tian’s saber as the invisible Saber Intent cut into her blocking hand.

Shua!

Blood flew and Wang Hong cried out miserably as her bloody arm fell to the ground.

Ye Tian and Wang Hong surged past each other and Ye Tian hurriedly turned, Little White’s speed bringing him ten meters away.

Wang Hong had fallen off her horse and slammed to the ground, a cloud of dust billowing around her.

“This——”

Ye Ba had almost reached the battle and he could only pull back on his horse, his eyes wide with amazed disbelief.

He knew Ye Tian was powerful, but even after watching him cut down Wang Hong with a single blow, he could barely process what had happened.

“Ah…” The one-armed Wang Hong cried out miserably, her arm having blocked Ye Tian’s killing blow.

But even though she still held onto her life, she was in no state to fight, physically or mentally. She grasped her bleeding stump, struggling upright as she turned towards Ye Tian with disbelief. “Level Nine Martial Artist? How old are you? How are you so strong? What was that attack?”

Her understanding of him had been shattered. The ordinary teenager in front of her had transformed into a fathomless expert wielding power she couldn’t resist.

“Level Nine? You broke through again?” Ye Ba turned to regard Ye Tian with amazement.

Ye Tian nodded, his eyes locked onto Wang Hong as he smiled. “This corpse knows too much.”

As he spoke, his tiger carried him forward, Little White’s eyes also glaring as he roared.

Wang Hong’s face fell, despair filling her ugly face. With her arm severed, the loss of blood would kill her if Ye Tian did not.

She was still filled with terror for Ye Tian’s invisible strike. She knew she couldn’t resist.

“Ye Tian! I remember—the genius of the Ye Family! I heard you finally awakened your Martial Spirit, but to think your talent was this great!” Wang Hong suddenly spoke, her eyes flashing.

“Oh? You know about me?” Ye Tian asked with some interest, stopping Little White when they were right in front of Wang Hong.

Wang Hong’s eyes flickered as she began to speak again, but she was interrupted by Ye Ba.

“Ye Tian, don’t listen to her, she’s stalling. Kill her now!” Ye Ba called out. After following Ye Feng for so many years, all his naivety had been bled dry. There was no way he would fall for Wang Hong’s scam.

Wang Hong’s face changed at Ye Ba’s words and she began speaking hurriedly, “Ye Tian, I know that you’re quite talented, but my treasure can make you even more powerful. I will trade it for my life.”

“Trade? Hehe, what do you have that could possibly make me more powerful?” Ye Tian asked, interested.

Ye Ba grew worried, calling out again, “Ye Tian, don’t believe her—she’s just stalling. Wang Tian is definitely on his way!”

“I’m not lying!” Wang Hong cried hurriedly. “My talent is poor and I only have a Red Martial Spirit, but I’ve cultivated to this stage even at my age. Ye Ba, you’re five or six years older than me, but I’m more powerful than you. This was all because of my treasure!”

Ye Ba and Ye Tian were both astonished by her claims, but neither of them truly believed her.

Ye Ba sneered. “Red Martial Spirit? You reached Level Nine Martial Artist at forty and you say you only have a Red Martial Spirit? Wang Hong, your lies suck.”

Ye Ba had an Orange Martial Spirit and had cultivated longer than Wang Hong, but even now he was only at Peak Stage Level Eight. If Wang Hong only had a Red Martial Sprit, she could never have reached her cultivation level.

“Uncle Ba, you’re mistaken—she’s a Peak Stage Level Nine warrior who’s just about to break through,” Ye Tian replied, his voice cold as he examined the injured warrior.

“Peak Stage Level Nine? Wang Hong, you still want to say that you have a Red Martial Spirit? Hmph!” Ye Ba sneered.

Wang Hong turned a surprised eye towards Ye Tian, growing even more afraid as she hurriedly explained, “I’m not lying. I used a treasure to cultivate and that treasure helped someone with a Red Martial Spirit like me reach this level. Ye Tian, if you have this treasure, you will definitely become more powerful.”

“Hmph. Treasure? Even if there’s this kind of treasure in the world, it wouldn’t be in a poor place like White Cloud Town.” Ye Ba snorted, no part of him believing Wang Hong’s words.

But Ye TIan was quite interested and he asked again, “What treasure? Show me. Don’t play any tricks. If you stall anymore, I’ll kill you.”

“I hid it away. If you let me go, I’ll send people to bring it to the Ye Family Village.” Happiness flickered in her eyes as Wang Hong hurriedly replied.

“Ha! Do you think we’re idiots? If we let you go, you’ll send people to give it to us?” Ye Ba laughed angrily.

Ye Tian eyed Wang Hong coldly. “You’re courting death.”

Ye Tian wasted no more breath, lifting his Scarlet Saber, a powerful killing intent billowing forth even as Little White lifted its head and roared.

Wang Hong panicked, hurriedly sticking her hand in her pocket and yelling, “Here, don’t kill me!”

Little White stopped.

Just as Ye Tian turned to examine Wang Hong’s hand, her panicked expression twisted as she flung the object at Ye Tian.

The thing exploded in midair, white powder covering everything.

“Careful!” Ye Ba roared angrily.
